That auction is so much fun! I saw that you won my little yellow sweater set...I can't wait to send it to you! I'm hoping to get some things ready to mail out today, and that will definitely be one of them. :)
Chloe is doing just fine, thanks for asking. :) We're up a little earlier than usual today because she started crying at about 6:00...I think she was having a bad dream, because she doesn't usually wake up crying.
Hi, Kelly! I love the latest Katie Bug video you posted. She is just adorable!! I get excited thinking that soon you'll have videos of Katie and Ella together! How is the travel situation going?
Good Morning Kelly! I think we need some more donations for the auction,so I'm going to go throught the house and see what I can come up with. I think you are going to win the photo shoot.
I couldn't believe that I lost the Kimberley dress auction. I was really sad about that. I didn't mean to forget that it was closing on the 7th, but things got really busy at school this week, and it slipped my mind!
Thanks, Kelley, I just this morning put a really short (7 second) video of Katie on the same post.
She cracks me up. She spends inordinate amounts of time gathering her "treasures" into different receptacles, it's funny to see her try and fit some of the stuff she wants in small bags or purses or things. She must have been in heaven with that great big box!
Do you think Amanda knows what we're doing with this auction? Do you think she would mention it on her blog or in one of her email reports if you sent her a link?
Oh, and in case you guys didn't see, the Starfish boxes made it through. We don't really know what happened. Amanda was supposed to go and show them her Visa for them to be released. She left Emily for a day to come back to Xian because one of the children was being adopted. When she arrived, the boxes were there.
I just stopped by your blog and noticed that you're waiting for Julia. Julia is one of my all time favorite girls names -- and I campaigned HARD for it for both of my girls, to no avail, sadly.
Kelly, Chloe's not sick anymore. She's her happy, spunky little self these days. She just woke up crying this morning. She was fine and dandy after she played with us in the "big bed" for a little while.
No, I didn't need more money. Amanda had a relationship with the Hidalgo's and she e-mailed them to see if they could help. Mr. Hidalgo works for Northwest Airlines and gets a FedEx discount. So, with the money I had I was able to ship the boxes to him and send the check to cover him shipping them to China. I sent the weight and measurements to him in advance, so I knew what it would cost.
Julia was mu husband's moms name. Morgan is my mom's name middle name. It is so funny we decided what we would name a girl if we ever had one beofre we got married(ten years ago) When we were led to adopt, Jeff came into the house with a red painted box with some chinese characters on it. I asked what it said. He said "This is our bank. ALl spare change goes into it to save. The name is Julia Morgan in chinese." I was like can't we talk about it again. He said "No way, we decided a long time ago. So, that was pretty much it. I do really like it. :)
I love the name Julia, too. We had a little Julia in our travel group, and let me tell you, she was a ray of sunshine. I'll never forget her "Gotcha" moment because she grinned from ear to ear when she was handed to her mom and dad. She was the only baby in the group to react like that. It was priceless!
Amanda was only back for one day and then she had to get back to Emily. I guess the parasitic twin was quite large, so there are still alot of drainage tubes and Emily is still being watched closely. Amanda said she would open them when they got home.
I just remembered that Charles Mully will be at Church tomorrow and will likely speak at some point. He is absolutely the most amazing man -- founder of the Mully Children's Family home for street children in Nairobi. His testimony is riveting. I'm so happy to hear him again!
Good morning ladies! I am going to pour a cup of coffee and catch up. It is good to be here this Mother's Day Weekend. Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms and Moms to be!
Kelly, I wanted to talk to him last Sunday, but I just can't. I cried the whole time he was up in front of the church. I was so embarassed, but I couldn't help it. The tears just flowed.
Pam, I was just looking at your blog...you and I were in the same Fingerplay Swap!! I sent the frog squares...and I haven't made my quilt yet. Yours is just darling!!
Tom made us pancakes for breakfast, so I'm going to eat up and I'll be back later!
Don't bother bringing the kleenex. I think I missed him, because we weren't at church last Sunday (shame on us, that's what we get for missing!).
According to the paper, he was there last week (and that is confirmed by you, so the Press got it right!), and I doubt he'll be there tomorrow, too. Bummer.
BUT, it looks like someone is writing a book about him called "Father to the Fatherless" Paul H. Boge, author.
I picked up my flowers last night. Zach's Dad's church did a fundraiser with one of the local greenhouses, so I have flowers on the porch that I will plant on mother's day. I do the same thing every year. Work completely uninterupted in my garden.
I am very moved by them. His wife was there too. They showed videos of their facilities and the children. He spoke about how they now in turn have been feeding over a thousand people who are refugees and orphans from the new violence that erupted recently in Africa.
LOA finally!!!! Pics too and to top it off, yesterday, we got our I171H (updated following being refingerprinted....just in case we committed a felony in the last 18 months). Now, I am focused on my shower tomorrow after church on Mother's Day...how cool is that and on packing!!!! Hoping I get to see some of Katie's Antics in real life in China!
He is amamzing Margaret. He is a man who lives in Africa. Evidently he was one of the wealthiest men in the country. He and is wife decided God was calling them to adopt orphans. They now have adopted over a thousand orphans and have built a very large facility to care for them all and grow their own food. It is absolutely amazing. They are not an orphanage. These children carry their last name and are legally theirs.
So my DH is out running a 25K this morning. I think this is his third time (and he ran a marathon a couple of years ago). While I admire him, I think it's crazy.
We're supposed to go and cheer him on in a while -- he told us to go near the John Ball Park/Zoo, so we'll do that and then go look at the animals.
Good Morning everyone ! Happy Mothers day weekend. I can't stay because Jill and I are having another rummage/bake sale today. We hope for a large crowd. Our local newspaper put ADOPTION in the add. :)
Today is Eli's 6th birthday. Say a prayer that is his last birthday without us.
EVERYONE, The Waala's are selling tickets for a drawing to win a Wii. If you would like a Wii, go to their blog and buy a ticket. These are two related families who each are adopting an older child, a girl Bethany and a boy Eli.
I haven't specifically pointed Amanda to the auction and I don't know if she would mention it on her blog. It is my understanding that she has to be careful with what she posts. She knows that we are raising funds for surgeries and she is happy about that. She is a very driven person and when she e-mails me, there is little fluff. I know that she is very grateful for everything.
Good morning everyone, just stoopping to say hi.Wishing you all of you moms out there a GREAT MOTHERS DAY!!!!! Hope it is special for all of you. Going to do my breakfast then go shopping with my parents and sister who is here visiting. Hope you all have a good weekend. Mr.Brian
Good morning Chloe! I see you like to type too. So does Katie.
Just the other day she wrote an entire email to her Aunt Karen (K1) and I sent it off just like she wrote it. Aunt Karen was able to decipher it and sent along a nice reply.
Karen's been busy with training at work. I haven't heard much from her either. An email after the cruise, but that's it (and, of course, she wrote a note to Katie).
She might be exhausted after a week of training post-cruise and will likely sleep in!
Yesterday, Katie wanted a piggy back ride from T, and she asked me to chase her. I couldn't, because I was in the middle of making dinner, so I suggested they look for one of the other boys to chase them. A couple of minutes later, T returned with Katie still on his back and that J wouldn't chase them, so he told Katie to call J a "party pooper" -- Katie looked right at J and called him a "potty poopy" instead!
We had our group travel call this week. It all depends on the TAs. They are hoping to have us all in China the first two weeks of June. Again, it just depends on TA. They are not expecting us to be delayed due to the olympics at this time. what is your agency saying?
You know how runners like to "carb load" the night before a big run? DH requested pasta for dinner, so I made a really great homemade baked rigatoni w/4 cheeses & dinner rolls.
In addition to eating like 3 platefulls of the pasta and two dinner rolls, he also had two beers with dinner. I have NEVER seen him eat like that before! He's a tall, skinny guy, and when he wants to, he can really put it away! It was fun watching him eat that much. I sure hope it helps!
My agency (with whom I am NOT very pleased) is suggesting that we MAY not be able to travel until the Olympic mess is over. That because they always route people through Beijing, that the costs will be too high and so it won't be financially doable to travel then.
WE are leaving as soon as we have TA & CA. We've told our agency this and they say they will meet us after we get to our daughter's capital city to do the adoption stuff.
There are two other SN families from our agency (I don't know who they are, but as soon as I get that information I will contact them -- who knows, they might be willing to wait until September, we are not.
What's so frustrating is that almost every agency I've heard of is simply re-routing their families through Shanghai or Hong Kong -- ours refuses to even consider deviating from their plan in place.
Wow, that sounds like a great dinner. I would love to have a family get together with you guys. Tyler still says he has no friends at youth group. I ask him about your son, but he says he hangd out with different kids. Usually Tyler is the first to make friends, but not at church. I don't know what's going on with him.
I have to start getting on my agency again. They haven't been looking at the shared list babies and that's where they all are. No wonder they are so backed up. They are only looking at the hard list of maybe 12 babies that China gives them. Last month, 9 of the babies were from the time before with one 3 new ones. I am going to have to start now pushing them to learn about the shared list.
It's frustrating about Tyler & church group. I know what you're saying though, that is a tough group to crack into. My boys have been at this church since 1996 and still don't have many good friends in youth group -- the kids are so tightly knit there doesn't seem to me much room for others.
I wish the small group and large group leaders would try to do something about that.
We won't be at church tomorrow because we're going to the Tigers/Yankees game in Detroit tomorrow (well, DH and the boys are going to the game, Katie and I invited ourselves to a friends' house for Mother's Day!)
I am surprised that your agency already feels the need to change travel. I can see in July but June!!! We wanted to go to Hong Kong and our agency uses Hong Kong a lot as a port city. However, at this time, they want us to go through Beijing. No direct flights from Hong Kong to Anhui which makes in China travel more expensive.
I have been checking flights and so far they are not that much higher for June than May going to Beijing. How frustrating!!!!
We switched agencies for this adoption mainly due to travel issues with our last agency. I have been thrilled with our current agency! I am so sorry that you are having difficulty...it makes you stress level increase and you should NOT have to go through that right now. The focus is to get our babies home as soon as possible!!!!
Well, I should get Katie out of the tub, get her fed and head down to the Zoo. I don't know how I'm going to get there, I know the streets will be blocked -- with my luck we'll go to all of this trouble and not see Daddy at all. Oh well, at least we can see the animals at the zoo!
I would definitely push my agency regarding the shared list. The information that we have received indicates that most referrals will be coming throught the shared list. Our agency was reluctant at first as they saw many issues with the shared list but since realizing that this is what the CCAA is going to do. They are working on the best ways to match their families. Off of the last shared list, they matched 36 babies to families!
Thank you for that information Margaret. I use factual info when communicating with my agency. I will pass along that 36 babies have been matched at your agency. I tell you, my agency is lazy. I am so sad to say it,but I don't know how else to see it. They do not contact the CCAA for review room updates even though families have to be through to apply for SN are desperately waiting. They are approved for the shared list but don't look at it.
I wanted to drop in and say, Happy Mother's Day to everyone!
And, thank goodness Mr. B. found that puppy!
Please hope I don't sink that boat today. I am starting on a Dragon Boat Team through our adoption agency and I am pretty nervous. It will probably sink when I step on! And, those seats look pretty darn tiny! Will I fit?!!!
When our agency realized that the majority of the children were coming from the shared list, the three ladies from the waiting child department began checking for updates through the list throughout the night as they knew China would upload the files during their daytime. It was in this manner that they were able to lock in so many children for the families waiting. They made all the calls and collected the paperwork withing 48 hours to confirm for all of the families. They are so dedicated!!!! In my long wait for LOA, I have come to know them WELL!!! They consistently asked for information on our behalf even though many times, they received no reply. We are 'trully blessed' to have them for our agency! I hope things start to change at your agency.
Hi there Jennifer, I was very offended by the non-mom ordeal. It looks like NBC actually came to my blog 2 times last night. They googled the name of the sponsoring company and non mom and my blog came up in the search engine. I love Feedjit!
Really? That is awesome that they visited your site. Maybe they got a much needed education on adoptive parents. I might just have to post about it myself because I am furious. I can't even believe that ANYONE would think that was ok.
Good morning everyone! I can't stay too long today, we have soooo much going on, but I wanted to wish all of the Moms & Moms-to-be a VERY HAPPY MOTHER's DAY weekend!
We are ready to head out to Disney on Monday & our only day to get everything together is today...yikes! I have a ton to do!
Soooo glad the boxes made it to Starfish! Soooo happy the auction is going so well! Grateful for the good news about LOA's & TA's around lately!
ALL the best to all of you & I'll "see you" when we get back! HUGS!! Patricia/NYC
Feedjit will show you where your visitors come from and if they came from a search engine, you can track it back to exactly what they typed in to find you.
I don't know, I guess they all left. I know that's it's Mother's Day weekend and the weather is nice, so I would imagine they are all out enjoying the day. I may change the chat times from 8am to 10 am and then make it until 12 noon again in the fall. What do you think?
Janet from Tuininga Treasures is in Africa now with her husband trying to get their 2 children home. It is taking them a really long time to get out too.
I am still just so mad! I just went to Lynn's blog and saw she had a post about the non-mom too. My husband just told me to calm down, and so I'm mad at him too!!!
Those stories make me so sad. There are so many orphans, but it takes a miricle to get every single one out. Did you see that Guatamala has suspended all adoptions for a month? I have been following a family on a painful journey, trying to get their daughter home.
Yes, the non mom was incredibly insensitive and very big mistake on their part. I'm sure that they are kicking themselves in the pants over it because the outcry was huge.
I had thought that Guatemala was shut down completely. The last thing I heard was the US Government was not allowing anymore Guatemalan adoptions. I ran into a woman yesterday with the cutest toddler boy for Khazakstan (sure I didn't spell that right). As far as getting these kids home, we as parents have to the miracles that make it happen.
I am hesitant to post about it because my SIL and brother just adopted their first child about 18 mo ago. She struggled for years with infertility. I know my skin is tough enough to be mad but not hurt, but I don't think hers is.
It's still listed as 'non-mom mom' in the about section on their site. Tele-flora sent out an 'apology' to people, but it's still not enough. Apparently their president and CEO is an adoptive mom...you'd think she would have had enough sense to not sponsor such a stupid contest.
I think they are regretting it today. From what I heard, they were bombarded with complaints. They never responded to my e-mail, think it was too sarcastic? It was completely tame in contrast to what I really wanted to say.
This got so many hot headed. Even the calm adoptive friends I had, shared their feelings rather well. Im sure they were bombarded with complaints..Geesh
It still bothers me that they have a separate category, even if it's called Adopting Moms. Why can't they just list us all as Moms?
I know the categories were: Working Moms, Single Moms, Military Moms, and COE (Chairman of Everything) Moms...but aren't adoptive moms in each of those categories too? (Yes, that's rhetorical.)
We don't have horns...Sorry, I'm still seething about it.
My cool sister in law just left her first comment. I'm trying to get her to join the chat. She is so supportive of our adoption. She is always talking to people down in Florida where she lives about it and asking questions and finding out the latest info for me. I hope she jumps in.
It bothers me that we are seperated also. If we seperated from bio moms, it implies that there is a difference between adopted and bio kids too. That is what REALLY bothers me.
Well, I guess I've procrastinated enough. Time to actually get something done around here. We have two baseball games today and then the boys are going laking for golf balls tonight. I will have to post on it. It's hysterical, and you wouldn't believe how many golf balls they find!
My sister-in-law is very supportive and pretty emotionally charged about our adoption. She reads things and talks to people and calls me whenever she hears something she thinks I may want to know.
I loved your post Rhonda and strangely enough, I got two hits last night from Los Angeles, CA. When I tracked them back to google search, teleflora and non-mom were put into the search engine.
I'm looking at blogs of people who have written about this and apparently someone from Teleflora is making the rounds and personally apologizing on some of them...interesting.
No apologies to me. I have heard that some people have received apologies to their e-mails, but nothing to me on that front either. My e-mail was kind of sarcastic though, so I'm not surprised.
We're both listed. I went to some of the blogs and read the comments, and that's where I found some personal apologies from Teleflora...I doubt with the tone of my post that I'd get one. Especially with the addendum that I put in last night. ;)
Good morning everyone. I just have a moment, but I wanted to pop in and wish all of you moms a very happy mother's day. To those of you who are waiting for your first child, please know that my heart goes out to you this mother's day and you are being covered in prayer.
I read about the Telaflora debacle yesterday. What a most-deserved firestorm that caused. Am glad someone there seems to have pulled their head out and made some apologies.
"Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, KNOWS that we know, and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12
I am an everyday woman. I am married to my soulmate. I have three sons ages 16,13 & 4. Adoption was never something that I had planned to do, but through an interesting path, God has led me and my husband to pursue the adoption of our daughter Sophia from China. It has changed me in so many ways. I cannot wait to look in the mirror and see the woman I will be when this journey is over.

Good morning!!! I haven't been here in a while. Hope everyone is doing well!!
Pam
Hi there Chelley! Yes, for you my Aussie friend, Good Evening!
Hi Pam!
Good morning!
What time is it in the evening in Australia?
Good Morning there Pam,
Man you are really bidding at the auction! I can't believe how well it's going. I love it. I check it all the time.
Good Morning Kelley!
How is Chloe?
9:30pm
Sat night
The auction is awesome. IT is so awesome that there are so many people who made such generous donations.
That auction is so much fun! I saw that you won my little yellow sweater set...I can't wait to send it to you! I'm hoping to get some things ready to mail out today, and that will definitely be one of them. :)
G day Kelley
Chloe is doing just fine, thanks for asking. :) We're up a little earlier than usual today because she started crying at about 6:00...I think she was having a bad dream, because she doesn't usually wake up crying.
Good morning (and evening) Ladies!
Loving the auction site (but I sure wish more things would have bidding wars, that is so much fun to watch)!
This sounds silly but is it Friday or Saturday at 9:30pm?
Hi, Chelley! and Pam, too!
Its almost like a mini ebay!
Did I win it? Did the bidding close??? WOOHOO! I do really want it and it's the first thing that I've bid on that I have won. : )
We are in the future! hehehe
Hi, Kelly! I love the latest Katie Bug video you posted. She is just adorable!! I get excited thinking that soon you'll have videos of Katie and Ella together! How is the travel situation going?
Good Morning Kelly!

I think you are going to win the photo shoot.
Oh, I wanted that sweater so badly -- but I have to save my pennies for my heart's desire: the photo session by Yes, Minister
My heart stopped when I saw that appear on the auction site.
I couldn't believe that I lost the Kimberley dress auction. I was really sad about that. I didn't mean to forget that it was closing on the 7th, but things got really busy at school this week, and it slipped my mind!
That photo shoot is truly awesome! I have been amazed by the great things on the auction!
Thanks, Kelley, I just this morning put a really short (7 second) video of Katie on the same post.

Sorry Chloe isn't feeling better.
I couldn't believe how much the Kimberley dress raised. That was very exciting.
The photographer on the auction take beautiful pictures. I am holding on to her info. Looks like she lives in the same place we do.
Kimberley,
Do you think Amanda knows what we're doing with this auction? Do you think she would mention it on her blog or in one of her email reports if you sent her a link?

Lucky.
it was great to hear that they got there in the end!!
no more money was asked for in the end?
Yes, I saw that the Starfish boxes made it there safely -- praise the Lord!
I'll bet it felt like Christmas around there while they were being opened!
I'm glad those boxes got there safely!
Kelly, Chloe's not sick anymore. She's her happy, spunky little self these days. She just woke up crying this morning. She was fine and dandy after she played with us in the "big bed" for a little while.

Good Morning.. just going to catch up...
How is everyone this morning..
Any big plans for Mother's Day..
Working for me!!! I hear the kids may be cooking me Breeky!

Good morning ladies! I am going to pour a cup of coffee and catch up. It is good to be here this Mother's Day Weekend. Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms and Moms to be!
Good Morning Kim and Margaret!
I get to work on Mothers day. YEAH!! It should not be bad.
Kelly,
I wanted to talk to him last Sunday, but I just can't.
I cried the whole time he was up in front of the church. I was so embarassed, but I couldn't help it. The tears just flowed.
There is a nice article on him in today's Press. What an amazing man he is.
Good morning Margaret & Kim!
Margaret, LOA and updated pictures of Graeme in one week -- what a fortunate MOM you are!
I'll bring kleenex with me tomorrow since I know he is going to be there.
Little Graeme looks so happy. I love his smile!
Pam, I was just looking at your blog...you and I were in the same Fingerplay Swap!! I sent the frog squares...and I haven't made my quilt yet. Yours is just darling!!
Tom made us pancakes for breakfast, so I'm going to eat up and I'll be back later!
Enjoy breakfast Kelley!

I am very moved by them. His wife was there too. They showed videos of their facilities and the children. He spoke about how they now in turn have been feeding over a thousand people who are refugees and orphans from the new violence that erupted recently in Africa.
completely uninterupted SOUNDS to good to be true!

Today is Eli's 6th birthday. Say a prayer that is his last birthday without us.
Shelly
Gardening is so therapeutic. Enjoy!!!!!
Shelly,
Good Luck today. Tim and I have to get in and buy some tickets. I will send birthday wishes and love to your little Eli. I have an Eli too.
That fingerplay swap quilt was my first shop at a quilt. It was actually kind of fun.
Pam,
I love Julia's fingerplay quilt!!! That is the coolest idea! That will be so much fun!
EVERYONE,
The Waala's are selling tickets for a drawing to win a Wii. If you would like a Wii, go to their blog and buy a ticket.
These are two related families who each are adopting an older child, a girl Bethany and a boy Eli.
Shelly,
good luck with the sale. The wait after receiving your child's picture is definitely the hardest. I hope Eli is home real soon!!!!
Here's a link to the story in our paper

He is an amazing man, and has a compelling story.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!!!!!
I am off to good ole work..
Love the sweater Kimberley that you won...
VERY PRETTY..
HUGS to all
I haven't specifically pointed Amanda to the auction and I don't know if she would mention it on her blog. It is my understanding that she has to be careful with what she posts.
She knows that we are raising funds for surgeries and she is happy about that.
She is a very driven person and when she e-mails me, there is little fluff. I know that she is very grateful for everything.
Have a great day Kim! I wish you were closer.
Mr. Brian found Josie, for those of you who were following along.

Josie looks like a sweet little dog! I love her picture!
Hi again,
I'm joining you now from Katie's bathroom where the Bug is happily splashing in the tub (she woke up SOAKED through this morning)
Yes, DH is running this morning and he wants us to come down to the JB Park/zoo to cheer him on...
Have fun Pam!
I tell you Mr. Brian, I was really worried about whether or not you would find her. I am so glad that she is safely home.
I think that is great! I knew he was a runner from your blog. Eli is getting into the shower with Tim. He's a dirty birdy for sure!
Good morning Chloe! I see you like to type too. So does Katie.
Just the other day she wrote an entire email to her Aunt Karen (K1) and I sent it off just like she wrote it. Aunt Karen was able to decipher it and sent along a nice reply.
Wow, How is Karen? Maybe she'll pop in today.
I am hoping to hear from Crystal too.
Margaret,
What is your agency telling you about travel this close to the Olympics?
Chloe would have continued to type messages if I'd let her. She was quite annoyed with me when I put her down from my lap.
That is too funny, a potty poopy!
We had our group travel call this week. It all depends on the TAs. They are hoping to have us all in China the first two weeks of June. Again, it just depends on TA. They are not expecting us to be delayed due to the olympics at this time. what is your agency saying?
After waiting 136 days for the LOA, I can't imagine having to wait until after the olympics to travel. I don't think my heart could take it!
Have a wonderful Mother's Day, everyone! I've got to get going on Saturday things...
Happy Mother's Day Kelley. Give Chloe a big hug and kiss from me! I'll get my payment in for the sweater today.
Margaret,
My agency (with whom I am NOT very pleased) is suggesting that we MAY not be able to travel until the Olympic mess is over.
I'm glad to hear that you are going Kelly, I was so hoping you would. Ella needs to get home quickly.
Kimberley,
It's frustrating about Tyler & church group.
Kimberley,
Do you have your list/application turned in for the SN program? That's fantastic.
Push and push and push them. They are working for YOU.
good morning everyone!
Bye all!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF MY BLOGGY FRIENDS!!
Morning Kim!
I would definitely push my agency regarding the shared list. The information that we have received indicates that most referrals will be coming throught the shared list. Our agency was reluctant at first as they saw many issues with the shared list but since realizing that this is what the CCAA is going to do. They are working on the best ways to match their families. Off of the last shared list, they matched 36 babies to families!
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Sorry that was Oreo saying hi as well... Loves sitting on the desk while I type...
Happy Mother's Day too!!! Enjoy the zoo!!
Hi Margaret!
Hope everyone has a great Mom's day...
I'm running to workout I'll be back later...
Have a wonderful Mother's Day Kelly! Good Luck to your hubs!
Good Morning Kim, how are you guys?
Morning ladies!
Lea
Good Morning Everyone!
Kim, I just read your "non-mom" post and I can't believe it!
Hi everyone, just wanted to pop in and say Happy Mother's Day! Hope your weekend is a good one.
Lily is ready to go out to play so I must sign off!!
Have fun at the Dragon Boat race Lea!!! I am sure it will be perfect!!!
Hi there Jennifer,
I was very offended by the non-mom ordeal.
It looks like NBC actually came to my blog 2 times last night. They googled the name of the sponsoring company and non mom and my blog came up in the search engine.
I love Feedjit!
Bye all and Happy Mother's Day to ALL!!!!
Have a wonderful Mother's Day Margaret!
Yes Lea, have fun at the dragon boat team practice. LOL...you are NOT going to be sinking the boat girl!
Kim,
Really? That is awesome that they visited your site. Maybe they got a much needed education on adoptive parents. I might just have to post about it myself because I am furious. I can't even believe that ANYONE would think that was ok.
What exactly does feedjit show you? I have sitemeter and they show me some info, but not that much. I need to check it out.
Thanks for the good wishes! I have told Bill, if I don't return, start dragging Lake Ontario!
Happy Mother's Day, from me to you, to the best bunch of ladies I know!
Lea
xo
Hi there Lea, I thought you would be gone this morning!
Feedjit will show you where your visitors come from and if they came from a search engine, you can track it back to exactly what they typed in to find you.
Have a great trip Patricia!! Happy Mother's Day!
Good morning friends!! Let me catch up!
Good Morning Amy!
Great cruise pics!
Thanks so much! I just got back from 2 neighborhood garage sales!
I love garage sales, they are so fun!
Wish I had found a friend t go with me, would have been even more fun!
Girl, if I was down there, I would have gone with you.
Any cute baby stuff?
Sooo much baby stuff, but i didnt bother really looking. Found a box full of brand new Dr Seuss books for a dollar..
Lots of bassinetts and baby gates.
Man, that box of books was a smoking deal! Good job on that one.
Thanks! Where did everone go?
I don't know, I guess they all left. I know that's it's Mother's Day weekend and the weather is nice, so I would imagine they are all out enjoying the day.
I may change the chat times from 8am to 10 am and then make it until 12 noon again in the fall.
What do you think?
I'm still here. I was just checkin in on Crystal and Savannah-Hope. She is such a cutie.
I was hoping to hear from Crystal today.
I can't imagine living in the conditions she did for 40 days without the rest of her family. I know it was worth it, but I know she's glad to be home.
I was shocked to read that comment. Not many things get me upset, but that has really upset me and the rest of our adoption community
You don't have a french horn to sell, do you?
So how was everyones week?
Morning everyone...
Good morning Rhonda
Hi there Dawn, I mean Rhonda!!
Man, I'm glad you showed me that contest, but I was on a tangent all night over it.
Jennifer,
My ex actually owns the french horn since we bought the violin for Zach. I can ask him if he plans to sell it. He's a cool guy.
It's still listed as 'non-mom mom' in the about section on their site. Tele-flora sent out an 'apology' to people, but it's still not enough. Apparently their president and CEO is an adoptive mom...you'd think she would have had enough sense to not sponsor such a stupid contest.
My week was busy but good.
I am not sure yet if we will have to buy one, but I'll let you know if we do. I hope he likes it. I might just rent one first to make sure.
I think they are regretting it today. From what I heard, they were bombarded with complaints.
They never responded to my e-mail, think it was too sarcastic? It was completely tame in contrast to what I really wanted to say.
I think your email was great. I agree, it was tamer than what I thought you might say. I've been writing a doozie in my head all morning.
Rhonda, I liked your post on the contest. You are so right.
Thanks Jennifer. :)
I would love my cool sister to join in sometimes as well.
Michaels blog could use some blog love. Im not sure whats got him down. I think hes got a nasty head cold..Poor Michael
Well, I guess I've procrastinated enough. Time to actually get something done around here. We have two baseball games today and then the boys are going laking for golf balls tonight. I will have to post on it. It's hysterical, and you wouldn't believe how many golf balls they find!
My blogged was messed up there for a minute and I couldn't comment.
Oh, I forgot, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! To ALL moms!!!!
Yeah, Happy Mother's Day ladies!
Morning Lady's
Oh, and then they came back again directly to my blog this time, no search engine. My first hits ever from LA.
Good Morning Mav!
Welcome to the chat group.
Tell us about yourself.
Good morning to you!
I got 103 hits, about 70+ directly from google searches for "non-mom moms". Usually I average about 40-50 hits a day.
No apologies to me. I have heard that some people have received apologies to their e-mails, but nothing to me on that front either. My e-mail was kind of sarcastic though, so I'm not surprised.
Interesting, I didn't check to see how many visitors I had.
I didn't get that many, only a little over 70 total yesterday.
I got a hit from here:
http://larasadoptionblog.blogspot.com/2008/05/non-moms-keep-on-blogging.html
We're both listed. I went to some of the blogs and read the comments, and that's where I found some personal apologies from Teleflora...I doubt with the tone of my post that I'd get one. Especially with the addendum that I put in last night. ;)
...and, of course, I'm not a mom yet.
Yeah, I saw that Lara hit me too. I have to go ready your addendum now : )
wowsers, thats a lot of hits
You all kno me as R, K1' friend
Good morning everyone! It seems like forever since I've been here.
I tried SO HARD to join in from the airport in Dallas but both the terminals I used froze up.
How are you all doing? Only here for 45 min or so. This is church clean up day.
Good morning everyone. I just have a moment, but I wanted to pop in and wish all of you moms a very happy mother's day. To those of you who are waiting for your first child, please know that my heart goes out to you this mother's day and you are being covered in prayer.
Rhonda,
I am busting up here!
Why K1 and R are here!
Kelly was on a little earlier but had to scoot of to the run.
Welcome R!
Good Morning Ashley!
Great to hear from you. Are finals over yet?
How was the cruise Karen?
I couldn't help it. ;)
We're all stewing here over adopting moms being called non-moms on the NBC/teleflora/today show Mother's Day contest.
Nice huh?
Yes!!!!!! :) :) :)
Hello again everyone!
I love it Rhonda and they deserve every word of it. Asshats, I like that.
Clarification -- the yes was about the finals being over
I can't believe they did that!! grrrrr ....
Well then, now I'm jealous of you Ashley because you are on summer break. I don't miss college finals, but I do miss summer break.
I read about the Telaflora debacle yesterday. What a most-deserved firestorm that caused. Am glad someone there seems to have pulled their head out and made some apologies.
