Good Morning Everyone and Welcome To The Saturday Morning Chat Group!

Good Morning Everyone! I'm looking forward to this morning's chat. Just jump into the comments and say hello. The chat group is really an open house where you can come and go as you please and talk with me or any of the other ladies who are commenting. If the room is quiet for a minute or two, I'll be right back. I'm probably grabbing more coffee.

Morning chat is closed. Thank you for a great start to my day!

Hi Amy! How are you this morning?

amy said...

just getting home from work. I let the dog out for a few minutes and hang out with Lucy until its time for me to go to bed

redmaryjanes said...

Anything interesting happen at work last night? Any new Elvis' or Hermionne's?

amy said...

uhm we have a frequent flyer whose name is Princessly

redmaryjanes said...

What is a freguent flier? A woman who has a lot of babies?
Hmm..Princessly is interesting.

amy said...

Frequent flier is a patient we will all know because they are admitted frequently

redmaryjanes said...

Oh, is she chronically ill or just thinks she is?

amy said...

whats going on with your family?

amy said...

they are usually very sick

redmaryjanes said...

Your blog has been so sweet. I just love the things that are on your mind and heart right now. You are so positive. I find a sense of peace when I go there.

PromiseKeepersDaughter said...

Morning ladies! What are everyones plans for today? I'm guessing Amy is going to bed?

amy said...

that makes me feel so good. Its been good for me to write. Blogging has been so mentally healthy for me and no, I dont fake the attitude. Its really a joy right now to be a part of this process..

Things here are pretty quiet this weekend. Tim is downstairs having his Saturday morning time with Eli. My oldest two are with their Dad this weekend and my step-daughter is with her Mom. I have to work on getting my flower pots put away and most of the patio things put in the garage. It's supposed to hit 70 degrees tomorrow, but I think that will be the last of the warm weather we'll be seeing.
How are you guys?

amy said...

good morning, Im guessing I will be up with Lucy for the next hour and then it will be night night time..

How are you doing?

redmaryjanes said...

Hi Debbie!
How are you this morning?

amy said...

We got ghosted again this week. Someone rang our doorbell and ran. Then we opened the door and there was a beautiful fall plant and a bag of candy. I think it must have been someone I know because of the flower. Now we have to post the ghost on the door and make candy bags for 2 more houses

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,
I think everyone can tell that you are a very genuine person.
So, are we going to do another swap? I love swaps.

redmaryjanes said...

I saw that on someone's blog, I think that Nancy at ASSEND does that. Her children make up goodie bags and leave them on people's doorsteps. Do you know her?

amy said...

oh yeah. I loved the bib swap and I expect a huge response to the Christmas Card swap.

amy said...

I dont think I know her but at least 15 homes have participated so far..Too cool!

redmaryjanes said...

I think that would be fun. What do they leave? A bag of candy?

amy said...

they leave a bag or bowl of candy with a piece of paper with a ghost on it and a paper of instructions. once you have been "ghosted" you put the ghost on your door so others will skip ou

I'm doing alright I've had a really crazy week. I'm glad it is over. Too many plans and not enough time. I was suppossed to go to a baby shower for one of the 38 women in our church (since we started our process) who just had a beautiful baby boy but I just knew I couldn't get there. It is hard sometimes but they are all wonderfully supportive.
Thanks again RMJ for the sweet birthday post you put on your blog.
Amy, how old is Lucy? I'm guessiong Lucy is your pup?

redmaryjanes said...

You're welcome! I hope that you had a great Birthday.

amy said...

Lucy is our 2 year old basset hound

PromiseKeepersDaughter said...

Ok I'm trying to figure out this gousted thing.....sounds like fun! I'll have to go back and read this again...

amy said...

I missed a shower for a coworker. I learned today that all the new babies went as well. I should have gone..

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,
Who did your blog header?

Debbie,
Sara did yours right?

PromiseKeepersDaughter said...

"ghosted" lol

Yes I had a great Bday...my hubs bought me a new CAMERA!!!! My other one only had 3x zoom and this one has 10x. I really could have waited til Christmas but he loves to suprise me...

Amy is there a picture on Lucy on your blog? I'll have to go peek.

redmaryjanes said...

You can only be ghosted once? That's kind of a good idea, because it encourages people to ghost everyone in the neighborhood at least once.

amy said...

fyi a friend just started her home business that would include some creative gifts..check it out when you get the chance

amy said...

happy belated bday!!! Bluebird blogs did this header and my personal blog..Ill go find a picture of my lucy

redmaryjanes said...

Wow, that sounds like a nice camera. I use my husband's, but I don't know a lot about it.
I have got to get the pictures off of it though and printed out. I am so far behind on my scrapbooking!

redmaryjanes said...

I'll be right back, I'm going to check out the ribbons site.

PromiseKeepersDaughter said...

Yup! Sara did mine. If I knew enough about it I'd be changing mine all the time.

Ya I would have imagined that alot of the other babies would have been there too...I told her I would bring her a gift on Sunday...lol, it is no secret what she will recieve, I give all the new babies a pair of Chinese Squeeky shoes because where I buy them a portion of the sale goes to an orphanage in China.

Thats a link to Lucy and Pixel

redmaryjanes said...

Do you buy the squeaky shoes on-line?
Sara has done quite a few of my headers. She is very talented.
My blog is very easy. I only have a basic blogger template. I just change the header picture and the font colors. It's the same as you putting a picture in your sidebar. It takes me just a couple of minutes.

redmaryjanes said...

I like your headers Amy, they are unique.

redmaryjanes said...

I originally asked Sara for some type of a Mary Engelbreit header because I like Debbie's blog so much, but she didn't catch that so I got something different. I love it though, the things she does are beautiful.

amy said...

ok, who is Sara?

redmaryjanes said...

That made me laugh, it's like being at a party and people are talking about someone you don't know.
Sara's blog is 'Our Journey to Mia Lin', I think she calls it 'Wish I May Wish I Might Now', but on my sidebar it is Mia Lin.
She designs blogs for fun and to help cover adoption expenses. She doesn't charge, but you can make a donation to her adoption fund if you wish. She does a great job. You can see her work at Debbie's blog.

PromiseKeepersDaughter said...

Amy do I googal that?

RMJ no I didn't get them off line we have a store in town that carries them.

Sara Lane Amy is at .....jsut a sec I'll get her site addy for ya..

amy said...

Cant wait to check her out

PromiseKeepersDaughter said...

OK well RMJ has it there for you.....I kept the old template she made me for my 100 good wishes blog. It is the Candy Land game one.

redmaryjanes said...

That one was cool too. I remember the Candyland one.

amy said...

sweet !!! your blog is one of the first blogs i read!!! Cool

amy said...

I think I will leave our adoption blog the same for now

PromiseKeepersDaughter said...

Amy Google wouldn't take me to the pics of your Lucy :o(

redmaryjanes said...

I like the look of both of your blogs. I remember when I first started my blog and I had the standard blogger template and everyone had these cool blogs and I was wonderding how in the world they did it.

PromiseKeepersDaughter said...

I like your blog header Amy I wouldn't change it either.
RMJ I love yours too he he every one of them. You are talented. I'll have to get some pointers from you someday.
Well I'm off for now I'll keep trying to find Lucy for a couple of min. then I have to go help out at the Salvation Army soup kitchen....it's rainy and windy here so it should be fun trying to keep everyone warm, dry and fed. Hope you gals have a great day.
Hugz

amy said...

redmaryjanes said...

Oh Debbie,
That is wonderful that you volunteer at the Salvation Army. I hope that you have a nice day there.
And I'm really not talented, I don't do any of my own headers. I have other talented people do them for me : )

amy said...

redmaryjanes said...

It's cool but clear here.

nikki said...

Good morning, Kimberley!
I'm off to breakfast with the family, but wanted to say a quick "hello" first.
I've been spending MUCH less time on the computer lately...

It's always nice to catch up with you, though.
Have a great weekend!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi Nikki,
Have a great breakfast. Hopefully you can come to the next GNO!

Ashley said...

Good Morning RMJ. I haven't stopped in on a Sat. a.m. chat in quite a while, so I thought today would be a good day to just say hi!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi Ashley, are you hanging in there with the classload?

Mark and Rebecca said...

Can't chat, but hope you have a great weekend! :-)

redmaryjanes said...

Hi Rebecca!
I hope you guys have a great weekend too!

Lisa said...

Good morning. we just got done with breakfast. Pumpkin pancakes, I a dyeing my hair darker this morning too. Letting it sit right now.

Ashley said...

Blah! ;) I'm managing!

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Lisa,
I haven't heard of pumpkin pancakes, but they sound delicious. I may want that recipe from you. Your cheesecake looks fabulous.
I color my own hair too.
How's the new house???

redmaryjanes said...

I remember when I was in college. Some semesters were definitley easier than others.

Ashley said...

This should be a good week ... I've completed all my assignments already. Only 1 test. Yes, it must be a good week. I've already had too many stressful weeks this semester!

Ashley said...

I agree - some semesters are definitely easier than others. What's your degree in?

redmaryjanes said...

What is your toughest class?

Lisa said...

Here's the recipe. Sooo easy.
Get pancake mix, add water, add two or three tablespoons pumpkin pie mix from can, add few dashes pumpkin pie spice, add 2 teaspoons of vanilla, mix and put on griddle. Yummy and easy.
We love our house, but dislike our small, tiny sad backyard. Coming from almost an acre to about 8 feet is hard. But the house is great. It is really busy here. getting used to that too. How are you?

Ashley said...

My most challenging class is international politics ... but I LOVE that class! (It's one of those classes where you really work for your grade!)

My least favorite is accounting. I guess that would be my toughest because since I don't like it, it's harder to make myself study/do homework.

redmaryjanes said...

We're doing great. We have our fall routine down for the most part. I have to clean off our front patio today. We're definitely moving into cooler weather now.
I'm going to try those pancakes next weekend. They sound fabulous.
We live on a lake, so we don't have much of a yard either.
The pictures of your new house look gorgeous, I love the kitchen.

redmaryjanes said...

I majored in English. Literature was my love. I could read the classics over and over. I also took a lot of art and psychology. I have never cared for Math, definitely not my gift. So, I never took an accounting class. Internation politics sounds really cool, but I could see where there would be a lot of research with that class.

Ashley said...

My major is political science with my classes focusing on international relations, so my international politics class is something I'm interested in and can see how I will use what I'm learning in the future.

My minor is general business, so that's why I have to have accounting. I have no plans on being an accountant, so it's harder to see how that class is applicable to me. Oh well, that's college! I could say the same thing about some of the basic classes I had to take.

Hopefully I'll have some fun/inspirational things to post this week! I feel like my blog is a "downer" right now. Does that make sense?

I'm off to get started on some of my work! It was great chatting this morning! :)

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Ashley! Your blog is never a downer. It's your thoughts and life. Life isn't always total sunshine. I appreciate that you are real.

Lisa said...

hey, gotta go. Have a great day.Lucky you to live on a lake in MI. I lived 2 blocks from Lake Huron in Tawas, MI. Miss it alot.
take care

Have a great day Lisa!

Good morning ladies.

redmaryjanes said...

Hi Laura,
How are you?

Laura Nipper said...

Doing good. Its supose to be in the 90's today and all this week. Yuck. How are you guys?

redmaryjanes said...

We're doing ok. We're getting used to our busy fall schedule. It's going to hit 70 degrees tomorrow, but I think that's the last of our warmer weather. Fall is definitely here.

Laura Nipper said...

Fall sounds nice. That is the one thing san diego do not really have. You changed your header. Noah is such a cutie.

redmaryjanes said...

Yes, Verna and I have been trying to work out a shower date. We decided on Nov. 3 this morning, so I thought putting her graphic as my header would be a great way to get the word out.

Laura Nipper said...

Well you host a great blog shower.

redmaryjanes said...

I have so much fun doing them and everyone is so supportive. The Mom's really get a lot of nice gifts and I think it gives those of us waiting something to celebrate.

redmaryjanes said...

Your children are so beautiful. I just want to tell you that. I love the photos on your header.

redmaryjanes said...

Do you have any fun weekend plans?

Laura Nipper said...

I think is great!

LaLa said...

Hey lovely ladies....sorry..couldn't chat this morning. We are busy busy with a birthday party tomorrow!! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend : )

Laura Nipper said...

That is so sweet of you. Verna did a great job. I love being my kids mom. Your kids are beautiful to. I loved reading the story of Tyler this week.
I am getting my hair high lighted and we have church and Aidens baseball game.

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Laura!
I can't wait to see the party pics!

redmaryjanes said...

Verna is a kind soul. She raised quite a bit of money for the Shockleys so that they could pay the airfare to bring little Ethan home. I am very glad to have gotten to know her.

redmaryjanes said...

My goal is to get caught up on my scrapbooking this weekend. I am so far behind.

Laura Nipper said...

I totally need to do that to. Once I had Morgan it have gotten way behind. AIden has a beautiful book but nothing for poor Morgan yet. Well off to feed my kids some breakfast. Have a great weekend. :)

redmaryjanes said...

You too!
