Tyler is very interested in Asian culture right now. He got an A in his Chinese Mandarin class this term, so we are very proud of him. I got him this little Juniper Bonsai tree. The Juniper type is from China and not Japan which is kind of fun. We are nervous about keeping it alive, but so far it is green and happy (after only 1 week). If any of you have 'Bonsai Skills', I would love to hear any tips you may have. He is going to be at his Dad's next week and I'm in charge of the tree...I am hoping it doesn't take a downturn on my watch.

How cool that he's taking Mandarin and is interested in his Bonsai tree. I'm super impressed.
I can't wait to see you tomorrow!!
Good Luck Tree Sitting!
Love the quote below...
Love that he's taking Mandarin, maybe he'll teach you some.
Don't have Bonsai advice but I do know about orchids...water once a week, drain well and pretty much leave alone. Might be the same with Bonsai.
Have a great weekend. Your key chain is coming soon, I couldn't get to the post office this week because Will had the flu and then I got it. It will be sent tomorrow.
I am greatly impressed by your son!!! And I say this as a second year Mandarin student. The tones are kicking my tush.
I love that Tyler is interested in Asian culture. Will Tyler travel with you to China? I have a Tyler too. My Tyler was my travel buddy when I went to China to bring his sister home. Tyler said it was the best experience of his life. Tyler and Addison have the tightest bond!!!
I love Tyler's Bonsai tree. Good luck this week. I kill all living plants...I have that special touch : )
K, my husband bought Rosetta Stone and learned Mandarin also, I am really proud of him, I could never learn another language. But I am sorry to say, "No Bonsai skills here"!
Love, Kristy
He will probably pick up Mandarin quickly because of his age. He has such a special heart like his Mom!
Oh, I am SO glad he didn't leave it to me. I would have killed it for sure.
Good luck!
So glad to hear about Tyler and his Mandarin class's.. that is exciting.. As for the Bonsai tree.. how fun.. you will do fine while he is away..
Have a great weekend..
Hugs..
Good Luck with the tree sitting!
It would be dead if I were in charge! ugh....
I am sure you will do a better job that I could. I love those plants and would love to have one.

I am cracking up because I can totally see you stressing over your watch.....lol.....did you get my email???
That is so cool! Great job on your Mandarin! I love Bonsais..... what a special gift... I have always wanted one too but am afraid I will kill it. lol
So I will look for those tips that come in and try to learn from them too.
heheee
Excellent job, Tyler. I know nothing about Bonsai trees (but maybe he should watch the movie "The Karate Kid" because Mr. Miagi knows EVERYTHING about bonsai!).
Looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow night!
Way to go Tyler....that is impressive!!
Good luck with the Bonsai...sorry, I am not good with any plant, let alone a Bonsai!!
Enjoy your weekend!
Lisa
You have to keep us updated on the Bonsai! Our Jacob has been asking for one for over a year and we almost gave in this weekend, in fact we were looking at a Juniper tree. I too am afraid I'd kill it when he goes to his dads.
