Good morning! I'm here, and will be in and out making breakfast and getting ready for a ladies luncheon for our pastor's wife.
Kim has been being harassed on her blog and in e-mail and has had to take it down. It's not the first time she's gone through something like this. She's just a really caring and sensitive person and the attacks have gotten to be too much. I think she will come back with a new blog in the fall, but I think it will be private.

i have to look at my social calendar (hehe) and I'll let you know....what days are you here for again? and besides I'm pretty flexible (pending my nail appts of course), the schedule would probably need to be cleared with D&B so we get to meet JM (I'm hoping to meet them at the airport if I can, if they will give me their arrival time...hehe)

any suggestions for colors?? right now they are one finger red, the next blue and white, for the 4th....everyone is amazing at my crazy nails, and they always look amazing, no matter how crazy the colors....I so love my nail tech.

I have been in contact with Steffie and from what they can tell, nothing is truly wrong with Emmie. I have been worried about her too with those fainting spells. We'll see how she does in the upcoming weeks. The photos don't really show it on the blog, but she is just a tiny girl. Very small in stature and it has been so very hot here and she's been at sports camps, so maybe it's the heat.

For the nails, I think you should go with a hot pink for summer...it's HOT baby!
One of my online friends who adopted a little boy with a cleft palate from China is coming to visit later today. I'm sooo looking forward to it!

hi everyone! It is so nice to be back. We have been so busy since home that I have had a hard time blogging. We went to West Virginia last weekend. My aunt who had been sick for a long time passed away...so Lily and Graeme and I met my mother there. Graeme actually stayed with some older cousins while I went to the funeral. He is adjusting so well.

Does anyone else get soooo behind on posting? I still need to post our 4th pics.
Graeme is scheduled for his first surgery next Monday. It is a simple surgery to put P.E. tubes in his ears. His palate surgery is not until October and we did not want to wait that long for tubes since his ears are full of fluid and it is definitely affecting his hearing.
I tell you, I do feel behind most of the time.

I have enjoyed reading your family adventures and your trip. I feel like I have known you for so long!
I have had two sons who have had tubes put into their ears and it made all of the difference in the world. Both of them started speaking more and it just really was a huge change for them.

Nope, half the June vaca pics and all of the fourth pics are still not posted - I think it is just the ineveitable - I am late most of the time and definitely feeling behind! We're all in this together:)
I've got pictures from the 4th posted, but I haven't posted since mid week. Micah had lots of doctors appts yesterday so I even have news to post and haven't done it.

He's going to need to have general anesthesia to get the obturator removed. And it has to come out before we go to Michigan for vacation.

Serious question here...talking about ears. Emily has a lot of wax build up. The doctor doesn't clean them, he says to wipe them daily with mineral oil. Is there something else I can do because it doesn't seem to help....I looked at those ear flush things but so far nothing for 2 yr olds......
RMJ - EM was the same age and we did not make the trip together, she and I stayed home and Rob went solo (with a friend) - we still feel like this was a good decision for our family - Em had a really bad year with illness that year and when Hannah was received she was very sick - 104 degree temp and an advanced resp infection - Rob was a wreck - I know that is not necessarily the norm though
Morning Amy!!! I'm glad you got the card..I took the kids there last weekend for sharkfest...Hayden is into sharks right now...they got to see a baby shark ...of course Emily wanted to get in the pool and couldn't understand WHY she was not allowed in....LOL

Kimberly...I would not hesitate taking Eli. Lily did great. Graeme was sick when he came to us and was put on an antibiotic the first day. She never caught his upper respiratory infection. I think it was great for her and us to have her there. She has asthma and we never even had to use her "rescue meds". I hope that helps and would be happy to chat about it more. It cracks me up that we have the same skirt...small world!!!

The ear wax. I have read on several blogs that asians are prone to a lot of ear wax. I know that Steffie takes Sophia to the pediatrician to have hers cleaned out.

We have used debrox since two years old for both our girls - it soften the wax, sometimes doesn't do a lot of good, but better than not at all
I have to run. He is up......It has been a pleasure. I am now literally on the run. No wonder I am losing weight. He keeps me soooo busy and I LOVE IT!!

I have missed you. It is so good to see you today.
Debrox is in any drug store and it is just drops youplace in the ear. You put cotton balls in for about 5 minutes and then very gently flush the ear with room temp water - we only do it every so often. Both our bio darling and our ASian darling are like the ultimate wax makers - the ped jokes they should go into candlemaiking
Our ped cleans them as well, but it is not always a fun experience, so they encourage us to do the debrox to make that easier and honestly, it has made a difference

I hear you. Our summer has been busy too. I like it that way though since winter is so harsh here and keeps us inside for months.
ASk your ped about the tube thing - neither of mine have them so I am not sure but the ped recommended it when Em was little and the package said a higher age and I called to be sure and they said with her waxiness, it was a safe, effective way to help - she is six now and it has helped immensely
If we were not so stinking busy - Carol - I would be heading to Hershey to meet you!! Not so far for us:)

Can you guys answer a question for me. My agency is not the most helpful.
Our paperwork expires in Sept. So, in order to keep it current do I need to reapply for the I-171 before it expires? Or can I wait and do it later?
There is a consignment store here in town that I have shopped at for 16 years and the owner is retiring. I went in to look around and she told me she was going to close the store and said that I have always been such a good customer that she had something to show me.
She took me into a side storefront filled with clothes and told me I could have anything I wanted for $2.00!
Let me tell you, I stocked up. Beautiful clothes, and I mean I bought 6 dresses in 3 different sizes for Sophia that are gorgeous dresses that she could wear to a wedding or when she has her pictures taken. The drycleaning tags were in them for two bucks. Shorts and tops and bathing suits...all gap and children's place and gymboree. I hit the jackpot.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT LET IT EXPIRE. There was another woman on here last week and her paperwork expired and she has to take a special class now to get it renewed.
That thing is what I am talking about.. I found it through Jon and Kate plus 8....

Zach got his license two fridays ago and then left for North Carolina on a biking trip. He's home today and so I would imagine his driving alone will start this week. I am really nervous about it. But all I can do is rely on God to keep him safe.
One last thing. I just purchased a taggie/lovie from April. One of the gals at work is pregnant and thought that would be a great gift.

I can't even imagine having a teenager who is driving. Although I could have a child that age. God will be his protector.
I don't know if Gabby will ever be able to drive. With her Autism it would be pretty challenging.
There is no list for this shower. All she wants are hairbows and books. She is all set with everything else. Lucy is almost 4 years old and has long beautiful hair.

I still can't believe my son is a legal driver. His driver's license came in the mail today. It's here for him to open today when he gets home from his trip.
He's also having his girl 'just a friend' over today ; )
