hly, there is a fundraiser at the blog of a new woman I have met who is absolutely phenomenal. Her name is Carla and she is trying to adopt a beautiful little girl from Vietnam. This will by their 7th IA adoption. This little girl is SN and they need help raising the money to bring her home and are selling tickets to win a fabulous camera. Her blog is 'Can't See Straight with 8'. Her graphic is on my sidebar, please post this fundraiser and support this amazing family.
Lastly, there is a baby shower for Crystal and little Savannah Hope from Malawi next Saturday. It is not on my blog, it is on 'Nipper Family of 4'. There is a graphic on my sidebar and if you would like to promote the shower, let me know and I will get it to you.

Tim's Grandmother was sent to the hospital because she has been lightheaded and having dizzy spells for the past two weeks. We don't know the cause yet.
His Grandfather is at the same hosopital recovering from pneumonia.
I dont think so but it would be awesome. Im going to start saving as much vacation as i can because......
yesterday we mailed our MCC to our social worker to sign1!!

Amy the recitalwas SO FUN but it is lots of work tonight Bella dances!! last night after the finale The teachers daughter was propsed to on stage with 1000 people and red rosepetals fell out of the ceiling!! I danced with her daughter and for Miss Cathy 15years so it was so exciting!!! I cried!!

Kimberley--Did you do a MCC? I was reading on someone else's blog about it too. I thought the SN program worked differently where an agency sent you their SN cases and you specifically requested a child. but it sound like some agencies match you after you fill out a checklist. Is that right?

This little girl is SN. She is raffling off a camera. I really need to get some exposure for her, so if you'd post the link I'd love it.

I have heard of the checklist, but I haven't filled one out. My SW says we are listed as a family who is looking for an SN child but I asked if we needed to fill something out and she said that we are on the list and fine.

Thanks again for doing a "quilt square shower" for me, I really hope I get enough squares to make quilts for both of my girls (lap quilts). But we'll work with whatever we get. I've seen Steffie's graphic on several blogs and that gives me such a kick, it's unbelievable!

I know in the past few months the SN program has really changed in how they match. I have to get some more research but we checked off a lot of the SN!
As much I expected and wanted a referral for a 6-12 month old, I am okay with an older child after spending time with some amazing children

Well, Steffie had never made anything for someone before, but I knew she could do it because her blog really is just a masterpiece now and she does it all herself.
She created that in maybe half an hour which I think is great considering she did the sidelink and the blog graphic and it's just beautiful.
My charity efforts are kind of overwhelming Verna sometimes, so I'm going to try to have some different people make things.

We are on the list, but there are well over 100 families ahead of us, so I don't know how it's going to go.
But I do find it interesting that now my agency BCS has announced that they are revamping their SN Matching and coming up with a new system.
Hopefully it's viewing the shared list which I was all over them about. They told me they didn't think it was Hague compliant.
April has mentioned to me that is would be great to coordinate a mission trip to Starfish. I think it would be fun for a bunch of us to be able to get together and go, but I don't have the time right now to coordinate anything like that.
So, last nights First Friday was awesome and some of us talked about the chat and we celebrated new families..We have one family leaving for Ethiopia and oen family domestically adopting from Colorado!
That is wonderful. I wish we had a group like here. Kelly and I are trying to start something similar at our church.

There are many nights that I sit up exchanging e-mails with Robin while she works. She is up late into the evening 7 nights a week sewing to bring that girl home.
They still need a considerable sum of money and this is the only way they can get it. They have exhausted everything else. She has arthritis, so I am just hoping she can hang in there.
cool Amy, hopefully Don and Be will be over their jet lag by then!!! I am so excited for them, Joanna Mei is almost home and in their arms....they are gonna be such great parents!! just keep me posted, cuz I too am definitely game!!

I am coming up near the Chicago area (actually north and west of there) the week of June 22nd. EI has a friend there that usually spends a week with us in the summer. This year they wanted him to come there.
My oldest will be at camp that week, so the youngest and I are going to have Mommy Camp doing things in Chicago or Milwaukee.
Thought I could drive for a day to see you girlies, then stay the night in that area.
Sorry Kelly, you'll be in China. I wish it could have been later so I could meet both your girls. Maybe another time.

I was talking with Steffie about Kate Emerson's little monogrammed dresses and I told her that sometimes you go and buy a little dress that catches your eye and then take it to a seamstress who can do the monogramming.

My sisters-in-law have already placed their orders (and they're not requesting trinkets either! One wants a strand of black pearls and drop black pearl earrings, one gave me 14 pages of "ideas" printed off of various websites (I am NOT kidding).
I tried to collect quilt pieces from friends, etc before we ever became LID. I think I only got about 20. I would really like to have enought to make a quilt.

Don't worry about forgetting my travel dates -- sometimes it escapes me, too. It really doesn't seem real yet.
BUT -- I'll have our sweet, scared, angry, confused little one in my arms in just 16 days -- can you even imagine! Oh yeah, I'll also STILL have my sweet, angry, confused and angry slightly bigger one in my arms at that time, too!
I do hope y'all will be praying for Katie and the transition that she is going to have to make when Elizabeth joins the family.

We are numb right now. It's so weird. Here we've been in the Wait for what seems like eternity and all of a sudden it's like we woke up and BAM! We're on the bubble for a referral. We may not snag a July referral but for the first time we feel confident in saying we will have our referral by August! I'm walking on air!!!

I have seen the transition in my own family from being the youngest to not being the youngest anymore and it can be hard.
She will be a wonderful big sister though and so glad to have Elizabeth to grow up with.
Oh Ford that is the BEST news....COngratulations. I remember that feeling so well. I hope you float with joy!
So, guess what I get to contend with now:
Katie can open ALL of the child locks in the house AND she's trying to give up her naps (though yesterday she fell asleep on the floor -- wearing a sundress and ladybug rain boots (SO CUTE!) at 5:00 pm....

One more thing and then I really am going to go shower... Harry had a very difficult transition when KAte came home and we are taking him to a play therapist. it has helped WONDERS! he loves his sister so much but he definitely felt a bit displaced. It has really helped him sort his feeling out. I highly recommend it if you see issues. Often lil ones can go a few times and deal much better:)

Managing so many kids can be crazy at times, but really they are pretty good kids. During the school year they are in school....that is really easy! lol Until 3pm anyway!

Losing Lucy was a shock to my heart and house. Its not the same. I had all of my emotions wrapped around her. Perhaps I loved her too much. We only had her 2 1/2 years but I know my sadness will get better

Thanks SO MUCH for featuring Carla at "Can't See Straight With Eight" on this blog. She is an amazing person, they are a wonderful family, and they really need the funds raised for this adoption. If I had it I would just fund it myself, that's how much I believe in that family.
