Good Morning Everyone and Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group! It is very windy here today. A cold front is supposed to be moving in bringing out temperatures down into the 50's. We were hoping to put our dock in this weekend, but there are some big waves out on the lake right now, so we'll have to see.
I want to say THANK YOU to everyone for LID updates and your supportive comments. I actually came home yesterday to a voicemail from my SW. She apologized for the way that my agency is doing things and said she would like to see changes too. That makes me feel better. My agency did acknowledge a change on the status in the review room, but only after the CCAA changed the date on their portal. So essentially, everyone knew the change before they acknowledged it. But my SW did state that it looks like we will be through the review room when the next SN list comes out and we should be able to see the list and apply for a baby. It seems so strange to me to choose and apply for a baby.
THE SATURDAY MORNING CHAT GROUP IS NOW CLOSED...have a great weekend!

Hi there Amy!!
How are you? How is vacation?
I know it's early but I couldn't wait to tell you all our news. We are taking the plunge again !!
I am heading out right now to our "Bring them home" fundraising rummage sale- My SIL/BIL are paperchasing for a 7 year old and we sent our LOI ....for a 5 (soon) to be 6 year old BOY ! Can't wait to share the journey with everyone. Thanks for the kind words and support as always.
Shelly
Th weather is wonderful. Where is everyone? How are you? I have enjoyed telling my friends about the Starfish project.!
oh my gosh, that is just awesome....
Oh Shelly,
Good for you! Congratulations! Tell me about your new son? Where is he?
Yesterday I was bouncing around and looking at some blogs that I had never heard of before and they were doing fundraisers too for Starfish. It was really cool to see how far this has reached.
Its going far. A friend showed me a blog of her friends whos raising money for another orphanage in CHina...They all need so much help!
I think so too. I think it's wonderful. I'm waiting for Amanda to get back from Emily's surgery so I ca get word about how much money has come in.
Cant wait to hear. Im just waiting for everyone to wake up so we can leave for the cruise..
Did you see what Verna did to my www.amychristopher.blogspot.com blog?
She rocks and has sooo much patience!
Wow! It looks great. I try to remember both blogs, but I usually end up at your adoption one. The song You'll Be In My Heart is my Tyler song, whenever I hear it I think of him.
Good morning ladies...
i totally understand and one day we may combine them but I also want Michael and I to have the freedom to talk about whatever we want!
Good morning Kim!
Hi there Kim!!!
Man Kim, I am so bummed. I just can't bid any higher on Daleea's hat, but I just love it.
How much is the hat at? I will have to go take a look.. I think last night I stopped bidding on that one too.. I can't either...
ok let me see the hat! Where is the link?
I need to check this out, I tellya!
I may start a second blog too. There is charity type of a site called GivingRoom that asked me to put my blog on their site. I won't do it because this is also our family blog, but I'm thinking of building an IA site with exclusive adoption information, fundraisers and such.
Amy, if you go to the my blog page, the first link on my sidebar will take you to Daleea's auction
sounds great!
It is suppose to get up to 100 before Monday here.... I don't know if I am ready for this heat...
Any big plans for anyone this weekend???
Kimberley~ it is sooo Great that you will probably get to see the next list...
I am sure emotions are everywhere...
oh my gosh, those items are all sooo precious!
If you guys bored, go play the contest at www.amychristopher.blogspot.com
Lots of prizes from the Disney Cruise..We have had a lot of fun!!
The past 2 weeks were very emotional for me because I was worried that we would be held back for months. The Nov. families at my agency didn't know they were through until the end of December.
But it looks like we will be ok as we should be in the review room in May and the next list won't be out until probably July and our agency should be updated by then.
Good morning ladies!
Amy, aren't you getting on the "Mickey Ship" today?
Fun, fun, fun!!! What room are you in?
Amy,
I saw the contest last week, but then had a minor emotional outbreak. I will get over there today, we love Disney!
Is the cruise FABULOUS?
Good Morning Kelly!!
so when does the new SN process begin? When will there no longer be lists to look at?
I am excited for you..
I can't believe you are getting another cold front.. this is the craziest weather..
I don't really know for sure what is going on with SN. I have heard of so many things.
I heard that there is like a master site the agencies go to and they claim as many children as they want. I heard one agency goes in in the middle of the night to get the most children before anyone else.
I don't know what's true or not.
Yeah, it is pretty chilly this morning and the wind is really blowing.
Getting on the boat 2 about 3 hours!!! We live about a half hour away
The contest is rocking! We are giving prizes for the most creative question and most creative answer and a few more after that! I love giving things away!
Well ladies, I am going to dry my hair and get cruise docs in order and let Michael on the computer..Maybe he will say hello!
I heard that there are A LOT of SN and it keeps rising.. I don't really understand the whole process.. I know that there are a few in April 2007 LID Yahoo group that have already been to CHina and back with their little ones..
Hey I was just ready to go to bed here in Australia
Good morning ladies...just stopping in to say hi. Many of you may not know but the Vietam adoption community took a hard blow yesterday. We have been waiting 18 months for a referral and now it may never happen. You can read the full release from the Embassy in Hanoi on my blog but just please keep all the VN families and mostly the children of VN in your prayers.
Have fun Amy...
Have a great day Amy!!
Shelly I read you news on your blog I almost fell of my chair!
Good Morning Chelley and Laura!!
I don't think Shelly is still on, but yeah, she's going back for little Eli.
Kelly,
I just read your latest post and next week Zach will be at Jungle for driver's training.
I really admire all you have done for starfish!
Oh Lala, that is so incredibly sad. I will definitely keep you and the other parents who are in the VN program in my prayers -- what a stressful time for adoptive parents.
Lala I was just reading your blog I am so sorry
Kimberley, that means you're going to the parent meeting tomorrow...what fun! : ) Randy is a great guy and a great teacher, but very ADHD!
Zach will learn to drive the right way...my boys are both very cautious drivers!
And the cars are SO cool!
What time is it there?
Its 10:30pm Saturday night
In Michigan, it's almost 9:00 am.
It's also pretty cold and windy!
Laura,
My heart is broken for you and your family. I cannot imagine. I am so sad over this news. It seems like there are roadblocks at every turn for families trying to adopt.
I haven't heard about a parent meeting. Zach took the first classes through the high school several months ago, but the school closed its program, so now the last piece is being handled by jungle.
I'll have to call Zach's dad for info about a meeting.
Shelly, I guessed your news when I saw one of your posts on a Yahoo group I frequent. But then your latest blog post was still about N.O.
How wonderful and exciting. Your new son is so handsome!
Oh, Kimberley, maybe you don't have to do the parent meeting, if this is for segment 2. The P.M. is for segment 1 families. Randy never says the same thing twice -- I've been to two P.M.s and my friend have been and when we compare notes and stories he told at them, none of us have ever heard the same stories! Still, it's a great program.
its amazing how when you start rolling a little snowball how big it can become!
I am just so nervous over Zach driving. He may be ready to drive, but I'm not ready for him to drive.
AND you have to drive around in that van??? Oh man.
How are you Chelley. I cannot tell you how fun it's been for me since you nominated the blog for the People's Choice Award. Thank you so much.
When I saw it I thought of you intantly!
You truly amaze me!
I not only "let" him drive around in that van, I was a passenger when he drove it!
I figured it was good practice before he wants to take my truck somewhere.
Yes, letting them drive is a lesson in trust. I still pray every time my 17 year old gets behind the wheel and pulls out of the driveway.
I am waiting for Amanda to get back from Emily's surgery so that I can see how impacting the fundraiser has been for her surgery fund.
There are still things that families have planned that haven't been done yet, so I know that more funds will still be coming in.
Kimberley,
I've learned so much about that new SN list - the shared list. It sounds like it needs to have the kinks worked out. I've heard some sad stories about it.
What type of SN are you open to if its not a too personl question
Speaking of cruises (Amy on the Disney ship), my sister is also leaving for a cruise today -- somewhere in the Caribbean as well -- not sure of the cruise line.
I sure hope both of them have fun!
I will tell you that it has little to do with me.
I am just trying to keep up with the amazing people that God brings into my life through this blog.
Women who travel all over the world to bring their children home. Women who embrace children with special needs. Women who leave everything they own and their homeland behind to open an orphanage and live on faith that the donations will come in to sustain them. Women with arthritis who sew thousands of dresses to bring in the money they require to bring their child home.
This is are the people who inspire me. I am a working Mom. I know my life is impacting to my family. I feel that if I can somehow help these others who are on the front lines, then maybe that will be enough for now.
Well ladies.. I am off to work.. I wish I could chat some more...
Have a Great Day...
Yes.... But at least you are not sitting back waiting for someone else to do it!
You are DOING something to change the world!
Good smorning from snowy Minnesnowta...we are getting snow and its blowing like crazy out of the north...
What is going on with adoptions from Vietnam? I haven't heard the scoop...we have several members in our travel group that are trying for #2...I'm so sorry to hear this...another road of a very long journey...my prayers are with you all
"There is a sense of exhilaration that comes from facing head-on the hard truths and saying, 'We will never give up. We will never capitulate. It might take a long time, but we will find a way to prevail.'"
I know that we only qualify for a minor SN due to the size of our family. Our SW was very clear about that. We haven't exactly determined what SN's we are open to because there are so many. I am thinking that a mild heart defect or hep b is what we are looking for. But there are so many different things. Kelly gave us a disc that describes in detail the different SN's and when the list comes out, we will reference the SN's of the children with this disc and determine which children we feel we would be a good family for.
Have a wonderful day Kim!!!
G day Kim!
Kim,
There is a report on lala's blog about the latest news with Vietnam and it doesn't look good for waiting families who do not currently have a referral.
I haven't had any other information come in, but I know that Laura is a reliable source as she is a good friend and has been waiting 18 months in that program.
I can tell you that I am a very different woman than the one who first signed those adoption papers. I see the world very differently now. Truly, if I could, I would quit my job and raise money for families and supplies for orphanages full time.
Kimberley, I just sent you an email with some information about the SN shared list.
If you do end up choosing a heart baby, I will happily recommend the ped. cardiologist we are using -- his practice came highly recommended to us. Also, if you need a ped. gastroenterologist (for Hep B), I also have a good recommendation for you.
Thank you Kelly,
You know that I will be talking to you when we get the list : )
"I can tell you that I am a very different woman than the one who first signed those adoption papers. I see the world very differently now. Truly, if I could, I would quit my job and raise money for families and supplies for orphanages full time."
Adoption changes people-- it is a miracle and a blessing and you will never look at children the same way again. Your heart will forever be changed because of it, and that is why God created it. He wants us to see His children as He sees them.
I hope one day you are able to quit your job and raise money full time for these beautiful and sweet children and the families who long to parent them.
You are an incredibly beautiful person, Kimberley, and I'm proud to call you friend.
Im back..Just waiting and waiting..
I can not wait!
What are you waiting for Amy?
Amy,
You could always go and sit in the terminal so you can be the first one on the ship!!
we are sooo close to the port but we are waiting for sister and her 3 kids to get hair cuts and pack. Im usually rushing to get on but no hurry. We did that 2 years ago and had to wait 3 hours in the hot sun because of a bomb scare
Hi Chelley,
I don't think I've ever "met" you. You're in Australia? You know that that is SO cool, right? Home to you, but so exotic and cool to us Americans...
Someday I hope to visit your country -- it looks so beautiful!
We are getting to meet some adopting blogging friends Sunday! Dannye (LadyFrog) and Don and Be!
G day Kelly
yup I am from outback and a very backwards
Australia!
Just to go back to what you guys were talking about, LynnMarie is really years from coming home but my heart has been changed forever by the adopting community. Its amazing what God does when you simply walk through the door He has opened for ya
Chelley, Amy and her husband are going on the Disney Cruise in just a few hours. We did the same cruise back in February, it's so much fun!
Amy, how cool that you're going to meet a fellow blogger mom & her family!
Kelly,
Thank you, you have me all teary eyed over here.
But let me tell you the story of you.
It is no accident that we are friends
I met you that night at Yen Ching and then started really following along with your blog.
We had been thinking about changing churches, but didn't know what we really wanted to do.
We went to ABC and really enjoyed it. We signed up Eli for his classroom and turned in the paperwork for his nametag and such.
Well, we went back the next Sunday and no name tag, they sent us down the desk at the entrance to the children's area and no one was there. I was frustrated. We walked around looking for someone to help us and after about 10 minutes someone came to the desk. I was filling out the paperwork again and happened to look up and there you were.
I knew there was no accident with all of this lost paperwork, no name tag and delays at the desk. I was meant to see you. There is no doubt in my mind that God has placed you in my life to get me through this and to be my friend.
Truly, this whole experience has been amazing.
Amy,
I love Dannye! You are going to have a great time with her and her husband.
Good morning from the Dallas Fort Worth airport! Hope you all have a great day!
I'm curious how Australia is "backwards"-- you're the first person to ever write that (that I've read, perhaps)!
Were you born there, have you lived there your entire life? I'm just so curious about other places.
Kelly is your blob invited readers only??
or am I just blonde
Wow!! We have two Cruising Queens on the chat this morning!!
Good Morning Karen, how are you?
Hey Karen!!!
We were just talking about you! ; )
Amy and Michael are leaving for the Disney Cruise in just a few hours, too! We're all jealous -- especially since it's snowing in MN, cold and windy here, and we know that same stupid snow is going to dump on us in a few days...
Hi! to Cheryl & Lisa, too!
I would very much love to go to Australia. It looks so beautiful in photographs.
Adoption here is backwards!! It is so darn hard!!! And they really dont give you much of a chance to do SN!! Which is where my heart is!!!
That is why I am doing foster care until I can adopt!
Chelley, yes, my blog is invite only. I can send you an invitation, but need your email address.
Kimberley, I truly believe that we were meant to meet and be friends as well. You may not remember, but when you were at your old church and it was going through a rough patch, I left you a comment saying that if you ever wanted to check out a new church home, I'd love to invite you to mine. Well, you never did ask the name of it, but it didn't take long for you to find it -- and how cool is it that God allowed the DV workers to mess up Eli's registration card so we could meet you there that 2nd Sunday!
Im off to get on the boat! Yall are so sweet and Ill see ya here in 2 weeks..Dont forget to check out
www.amychristopher.blogspot.com and join in on the easy contest while we are gone
I think being a foster parent is a very noble thing. Here in the US, often times you can adopt foster children, is it the same in Australia?
mind you we have been waiting 7 and half months to be APPROVED!! now we are waiting on a paper work prob! on the SW side!! otherwise we would have a "foster" in our spare room!
Amy,
You guys have the best time ever!!!
Good morning everyone! I am just checking in. We have two baseball games to day and company coming over tonight. I am making strawberry pies (YUMMM), if my husband will hurry home with the berries.
You can in some times it in its self is really STUFFED
they rather put them on orders until they are 18yrs old
insted of adoption! But there is a big up roar about it so it MAY change soon!!
Chelley,
Is there much domestic adoption in Australia?
I haven't been to your blog (but I'm good at finding clues) so I take it you're trying to foster a child while you're waiting?
What's your LID?
morning all...Kim, Q for you, when is the bidding over for the ladybug dress I bid on ?
GOOD MORNING ladies! :) How is everyone this morning?!
http://chelleyau.blogspot.com/
and email
chelleyau@gmail.com
I would love to be added to your blog is it was ok
no LID
when the new rules hit we were hit out of the park! :(
Dannye!
How are you? We just heard from Amy that she's going to be meeting you in Florida. That's really cool.
I think Daleea is going to start putting dates on the items to show when the bidding is over, but I'm not sure. I will ask her.
Good Morning Amy! When are you going to be home for the summer?
I'll be home a week from today! :) AND I can't wait...
Did you guys see my post from yesterday!? I'm needing a break...5 kids?! How do people do it!
We were having the nicest weather and then this cold front blew in and it's chilly and windy today.
OH yes...no more 70* in the long range forecast...boooo!
yes I am excited to be meeting Amy...and our good friends Don and Be are going too...way cool!! I just know we'll have a great time...we met Don and Be through our waiting families meeting (Don recognized me from the blog and we have been great friends since)...and we hang out with them as often as we can...they are also with Bethany and have their referral of Joanna Mei (SN) with their LID of 3/24/06...they too had probs but with their SW...she "forgot" to send them a list, but as he says, Joanna Mei wasn't there anyway....
Well its almost midnight here and I have to work tomorrow morning (sunday)
SO I am off to bed!! Its been really nice!!!
HUGZ!!!
I think you guys are going to have a great time.
Is the sock swap ready?
night chelley...sweet dreams...
matching will be done 5/1 for the sock swap so if anyone hasn't yet signed up that wants too....
It was so great to talk to you Chelley. Have good nights sleep and a great day tomorrow.
i think we have between 35-40 participants....too cool!!
I was so shocked at how many wanted to swap...
I just love swaps!
well as much as I'd love to stay and play..i better get going and pick up my mom and my "aunt" sue and head out for our day of shopping/lunch/etc...
love you guys!!
The swaps really do a lot for morale. They give us something to participate in and to look forward. That is something we all need on this journey.
Ok I'm going to get coffee....see you guys later! :)
Have a great day Dannye!
Good morning Kelley!
how's that beautiful Chloe doing?
I have to run and change a smelly diaper, but I'll be back in a jiffy!
Have a great day Amy!
Good Morning Kelley!
That outfit that Chloe had on the other day is the cutest thing I have ever seen.
I'm so glad it's Saturday! Chloe is snotty again...we only had about 3 snot-free days this week. I just can't keep this baby well...but she's in good spirits. We have a follow-up with the doctor on Thurs. (she's been on antibiotics for an ear infection). Tom's cutting tile, working on the upstairs bathroom remodel. I'm here, avoiding housework and laundry. :)
I've been reading through the comments today--lots of topics as usual! It's heartbreaking about the Vietnam situation...
Thanks, Kimberley! They are handmade by a local mom here; I found that outfit at the high school craft show. It was $35...and everything I could do not to buy it in a thousand different prints. I'm probably going to have to get a couple more. I just love that little style on Chloe. (And Robin's so busy, we're going to have to wait awhile for our order from her...which of course, is well worth the wait!)
I am devastated by the recent developments with the Vietnam program. First, because I truly adore Laura and I feel so sad for her. Secondly, because it is another big blow to IA. Guatemala is not available, Korea's program is not referring many babies at all and it seems like every other program is so overwhelmed that the wait times are just not workable anymore.
Robin and I have been in close contact. She is sewing away and really appreciates how patient everyone is being. She is just overwhelmed by the love and support that everyone is showing her.
It will be very interesting (and most likely heart-wrenching) to see how IA evolves in the next few years. I can't help but think that what is happening in Vietnam could happen in China, and really anywhere else. For us, being a Jan '08 LID, I figure it's as much of an "if" as a "when"--even though China has a history of being very reliable.
Crystal should be coming home today with Savannah Hope. She has a special post running where she is asking people to leave a special comment for Savannah that will go int o a scrapbook for her. So, if you have been following her journey, you may want to go over there.
Robin lives about 5 minutes from me--I've told you that before. We haven't been able to meet yet because one of our girls has been sick as soon as the other is well...and she's so busy sewing! :) We're going to try again in early May...
I did leave a comment for Savannah-Hope. She is such a beautiful girl! I am thrilled that they're coming home today!!!
Now we are really leaving..
But hubby made me laugh.
Check out www.rockingthe80s.blogspot.com and watch the video he picked for today!!!
It will bring back a memory. promise!
Have a great time Amy!!
Kelley,
You did tell me that, but it slipped my mind. I would love to meet both of you.
Well, that wasn't a "jiffy" but I'm back anyway.
I am sitting in a wrecked house with laundry piled up so high that I can barely walk through my laundry room, and here I am sitting on the computer. Shame on me!
Can anyone tell me how to control the amount of PAPER we get coming into our house? I don't get the newspaper anymore because of that, but I am still buried under paper! Help!
I think it's funny how blogging makes the country really seem so much smaller, but then you think about the logistics of trying to meet and it seems bigger again. :)
Paper I can handle somewhat. It's the laundry piles!
I'll be back...somebody keeps saying, "EAT!" (And she already had breakfast!)
We get a lot of paper too. The kids always seem to bring so much stuff home...I guess Tim and I do too.
I hate doing laundry, but Tim doesn't mind it. He hates dishes and keeping up with the kitchen and I don't mind that, so we are a good housekeeping match.
Well, I have another thing to add to the laundry pile...Katie just took her beloved "blankie" and stuffed it into the kitty house -- I'm sure it's totally covered with black cat hair now. Gross.
Good thing we have about 6 identical "blankies", don't you think?
BTW, it has always interested me why babies become attached to one special thing (or type of thing). Why is that? Katie has had a variety of blankets from which to choose since the day we got her. Why did she choose this particular one to be special? (and yes, we bought the others after she made it clear which one was going to be her special "blankie"). Anyone have any ideas on that?
Good morning ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well this morning. It is suppose to be in the high 90's today. Crazy
Not me...I'm amazed that kids pick one thing, too, because Chloe hasn't. She likes her squeaky snake book a lot, but she alternates which book she wants to carry around with her. She doesn't have a favorite toy or blanket. I sort of wish she did...I think it's neat.
Hi Laura! We're only going to hit the mid-sixties today.
Good Morning Laura...only the mid 50's here today after beautiful weather all week. It figures that the weekend would get the cold.
Yeah I just saw on the news that most states are having cold weather again.
Eli was my only child who attached to one thing. He loved his fleece baby blanket. But now, he's kind of let it go.
Kelley, this "lovey" thing is a blessing and a curse.
It's great that they have something that is guaranteed to calm them, but a curse when that thing is misplaced or dirty or lost forever! (That's why we have 6 identical blankets -- one or two are always in the laundry -- I have a thing about children's dirty blankets...ugh! -- one or two are always clean, and we've got one or two in the car or the crib for when they're needed.
Good morning Ladies! I was just catching up on what was being said this morning and I have to agree that blogging makes the world seem so much smaller. And I truly believe that all of you have been put in my life by God for a specific reason and I love love love that!! I just wish we could all spend time together in person.
Aiden was attached to his green blanket and pacifier. Morgan not really anthing.
Aargh! I always forget to close my parenthetical phrases! When will I learn to PROOF READ??
Astrud would only use clear nipples and the ansa bottles that her hand could go in and she would not touch a pacifier and the one thing that she was truly attached to was me. She was such a mommys girl and now that she is 15!!! she only really needs me when she is tired or does not feel good, or if her feelings have been hurt. And that takes a little time to get used to because she will always be my angelbaby and it hurts when they just really start getting more independent!!!
Good Morning Kristy,
How was the conference?
I totally agree with that Kristy. They need us less, but we still need them the same as ever.
My daughter is still very attached to me. She will be 3 in a couple weeks. I know it wont be long until she does not need me the way she does now. They grow up to fast.
The conference was good but Chicago was GREAT!!! I put a post all about it on my blog and I also did a video of some of my favorite pics!!! The conference was alot of repetition for Frank and I since we have been at this for over two years. We have gone to alot of seminars and such and it was alot of the same stuff.
I wish we could all meet, too. I keep thinking how much fun it would be to sit around with coffee, or whatever, and have these conversations in person! (And I'm usually pretty shy and withdrawn in a big group, but I think I'd be really comfortable...)
We are doing the hole potty training thing over at our house. She is doing pretty well.
Laura enjoy every minute and don't blink , because I honestly don't know where the time goes! I have three neices that are just like my own and now they are 12, 8, and 3, so the three year old is where I am getting my extra lovin from . lololAnd I am thinking well when she starts pulling away then I will have my Franceska, I got it all timed out perfectly!! lolol
I'd like to hear details of your potty training efforts. We haven't tried at all yet over here. (Chloe just turned two on March 19.) She's not interested at all...I'm not encouraging it yet. I'm not even sure when/how/if to start. :)
Hi Kelley!! I am NOT shy in a big group. I would love that . Could you just imagine how much coffee , tea and coke would be consumed!! I bet if we could all get together it would last hours!!! Gosh I would love that!!!
Kristy, I totally agree! My boys are 17, 15 & 13 and I cannot tell you how they got to be those ages! Where in the world did the time go? And how can time fly and drag at the same time? One of the other great mysteries of life, I guess!
Kristy, I can totally identify with those kids all growing up. When Tom and I got married, Kiersten was 6. (We had a late December wedding, and she wore a burgandy dress with a "Christmas cape"--which was really a TREE SKIRT that I made into a cape by attaching a pretty clasp. You can only get away with that with a very young child!) Anyway, she's about to turn 12, and I'm wondering where the time went...
I was so blessed with Astrud and potty training. She wanted to peepee like mommy and refused to let me put a diaper on her at the age of 2. So I just put her in big girl panties and crossed my fingers and to date has never ever had an accident! Now what are the odds that Franceska will be that easy!! lol
We just made it through potty training Eli. It took us quite a while. We got our potty seat and put it in the living room. Eli sat on it to watch tv or whatever. Then we moved it into the bathroom and we would sit and read books on it. When Eli had a dirty diaper, I would tell him that poo poo and pee pee go into the potty. Then we started sitting on it about 20 minutes after dinner and celebrating whatever we could get into the bowl. : )
Kristy and Kelley I tried to very your blogs but do not have access to read them. Do you give out access to them??
You're right Kristy they grow up way to fast. I try to enjoy every min.
Good Morning All!
No time this morning.
Have family coming in from both sides for my oldest's confirmation tomorrow, and my house still needs to be cleaned.
I did prioratize however, and went to the gym first to run 6 miles:)
Good Morning Nancy!
6 miles??? I think I have travelled 6 yards this morning. Good for you!!!
Laura my blog does not have any blocks or anything on it , you should be able to go right to it.
Morgan does great when she is naked. She carries around her little potty and likes using it in the living room and play room. Just not sure what to do with her when we leave the house. I usually just through a diaper on her and of course she pees in it.
Katie is very interested in the potty (she asks every time I have to change her FULL diaper if she can "sit the potty") but has yet to do anything on it (other than read books and sing and look way too cute!).
I'm not pushing -- she'll do it when she's ready.
Two of my boys were EASY, one was NOT!!
OOOH! Nancy, you make me feel like a big slug. You go, girl!! 6 miles!
Laura, if you send me your email, I can send you an invitation. If you check out my profile, there's an email link there. Let me know if you have any trouble. :)
Oh Laura your beautiful!!! I went ot your bog. Are you adopting from China? And can I put you on my blog?
Kelly, did you get a small potty seat for any of your boys, or are you using one with Katie? Do you just get a little seat for the big potty? It's these little details that have me confused.
And WHERE will I find panties for my baby girl? Today she is wearing an 18 month shirt, but her little skirt/panty combo is size 12 months. She has a tiny little tushie!
Nancy your killin me!!! Now I have guilt!
Astrud was really tine too, but all I could find was size 2. So she wore them until she was in 3rd grade!
I just went to visit Secret Agent, and she's gone private. Any idea how I can contact her? I came up with a slogan for her....
We did not do a potty chair for the boys (just put them on the big potty facing the wall), but have one for Katie.
As for the tiny panties, we don't own any yet (first, 'cause we won't NEED tiny panties for Katie -- have you seen the size of her?, and 2nd because I want her to be able to pick out her special panties when she's actually using the potty -- kind of like a bribe).
However, I have seen some posts about tiny bottom underwear on yahoo groups. I could do some digging and find out what people recommend if you'd like.
Ha, ha, ha!!! Kristy, that is the third time you've had me laughing out loud this morning. I picture little Astrud, walking around in baggy panties until 3rd grade. That is too funny!
(Although Kiersten is still trying to wear old panties that are too small...the only way I can get rid of them is to have them "disappear" after I do the laundry. She never will clean them out and declare them too small. Silly girl! We only see her once or twice a month for the weekend, so she has lots of stuff she doesn't get to wear much.)
Awe thank you Kristy. As of right now, we are not adopting. I have a few friends who have adopted both internationally and domestically, so I am starting to have a heart for it. You never know what God might do.
Kelly I just sent you an email.
Kelly, how big is Katie? She doesn't look that big to me...but then people say that Chloe doesn't look as small as she is, either. I think that photos can be deceiving.
Nancy,
I'll let secret agent know you are looking for her.
OK LADIES...
Now, I know that Nancy has donated 2 books to Daleea's auction and Kelly has bid on a pillow set, but have the rest of you gone over there?
And I know there has to be something around your house that you can donate....
I got your email, Laura. You should have an invitation in your email now... :)
Katie is pretty big -- she's about 34" tall, and about 29 pounds. She's definitely not a petite little girl! She's wearing 2T clothing (although some of her summer shorts I bought 3Ts).
Laura that is great, let us know what develops ok.
Ladies it is sunny and about 65 degrees right now and I think I am going to go out and work in the yard a little bit. My Aunt Margie gets married at 3 today. I hate to say goodbye but I really should go. I just love the heck out of all of you!!! Have a great weekend and God bless all of you.
Love and blessings.
Yes it is hard to fine little underwear for the little ones. Morgan has size 2 and they seem to work ok if I try and shrink them in the dryer.
Kristy I love Franceska Danielle. That is Morgan's middle name. Oh and yes you can add me to your blog. I will do the same.
I would SO love to bid on that beautiful brown and blue outfit -- I just don't know what size our baby girl will be when we get her. It is beautiful and I am always amazed that people can make things like that!
I also love the tutu, but I don't want to get into a bidding war with Rony -- although maybe I should up the price and see if she'll better it -- heh, she needs TWO, so that would be double the money for Starfish Home!!
Thanks Kelley.
Kimberly I will look around and see if there is anything I can donate to the action. What a great idea to raise money.
good morning -- redmaryjanes make sure you email me if you have any questions when the SN list comes out. My kids are both repaired ASD/VSD (totally healthy now) and I have friends who have adopted SN kids with raised moles (removed by laser surgery, you would never be able to see them now). Anyway, you know I'm here for you. shuey6 at comcast dot net.
Okay folks, that's all for me...
We're heading for the hot tub (Daddy ran 13 miles this morning and needs a good soak, Katie and I are going to join him, just for fun!)
Everyone have a great weekend! Kimberley, I hope to see you tomorrow at church.
Thank you my gypsy friend,
Your blog is the reason I know that we can be comfortable applying for a child with a heart defect. I read your post about your children having no restrictions and living wonderfully fun lives as all children should.
Okay Ladies I have to run. My son has a Karate testing today and we are starting to run late. Have a wonderful weekend.
Oh and Kimberly I need to talk to Chrissie about when we should have Crystal's blog shower. I will let you know what day we choose.
Thank you Laura!
I have ordered a dress for Savannah Hope from Robin for her shower gift.
Good morning everyone just came in to say hi - haven't been here in a while weekends have been really busy lately.
She is going to love it Kimberly. Robin makes beautiful things. Talk with you soon. :)
How are you Kim?
I put in a bid on the Kimberley dress...I'm going to go look for something I can add to the auction now. I hope to be back soon and tell you what it is!
I will see you tomorrow Kelly, have a great day!
