Youth Hunt...

Today was a big day for Tyler. Last week he took hunter's safety class and passed the test on Friday. Today was the first day of youth hunt and he and Tim went out to Tim's Great Uncle's 40 acres in search of deer. Evidently they saw two deer, but were not in a good position to take a shot. They came home happy despite being empty handed.

Are deers pests? Just wondering why they are hunted. In Australia we have plenty of people who go kangaroo shooting, and people abroad are often horrified at this - but we have gazillions of them and they are major pests. It's probably a bit strange that we deliberately kill one of our national animals!

My hubby likes going pigging and hunting wild boars. I went on a hunting trip once with him and his buddies and it was all a bit grotty for me!

I'm visiting from Amy's blog, too. :)

My hubby is so anxious to take our son out to do all those "father/son" things...but he's only going on 2 so it will be a little while.

I do, however, see a picture like that in my future. :)

It was nice to visit! Hope they have better luck next time.

My father-in-law is a BIG-TIME hunter so I hear all about his adventures...will you have animal heads on your walls anytime soon?

They don't really kill those precious deer. Right? They graze in my back yard and we so love watching them. Beautiful creatures.

Now, that is a priceless picture.
Dad looks so happy to be taking his son with him.

Deer hunting is very common where I grew up (Oklahoma). I remember my dad, uncles and grandfather all getting ready for deer hunting season. I even remember going out with him once. But I talked WAY to much and WAY to loud for my dad. LOL

Deer meat is SO SO SO good. And I love deer Jerky!

Seeing the picture of your son and husband in all there deer gear brought back wonderful memories.

I came over from Amy's blog.
I will be keeping you and your family in my prayers while you are waiting your precious gift!

Tell your husband and son....Happy Deer Hunting!

We have deer all around our road. We have to be very careful driving home in the dark. We also have wild turkeys. It is scary when they come flying at you.

we have about 30 deer that we know of living here
I wish I could tell them to stay put
for their own safety.

Yeah deer are considered pests here
because........... we need more shopping malls and highways and less forest.

I came over from Amy's blog. I love your title and the reason behind 7 diamonds. I spent a week at an orphanage and wanted to adopt one of those children. Unfortunately, the Philippines have very strict laws on adoption and you can't adopt if any of the parents are possibly still alive and if you are not a native there.

God bless,
Sallie
