GOOD OLE WORK..
Today I will be off by 1 ,so that isn't all that bad..
Kim
morning!! just wanted to drop in and say hello before starting our exciting saturday...
attending opening ceremonies of a golf tourney, then helping my brother move into his new house...
exciting plans for our 6th anniversary dontcha think ?? hehe
Good Morning Kim!
I didn't know that you work every Saturday. What is it that you do?
Happy Anniversary Dannye! The golf tournament sounds fun. Moving is tough, but if they have good food and drinks, you could have a good time.
Dannye,
I'm so glad you said you may organize another bib swap in the future. I think it's a great idea, I had fun shopping for it and you can never have too many bibs.
nope no food nor drinks (okay maybe some water....), my brother is kinda cheap that way, hehe
Yes .. I am in retail..
I just switched stores..I am a operational manager at Home Depot..
At the previous store(Contractor Store-Home Depot , which just currently closed) I just left I was the Human Resource.
I am currently waiting for that position to open up in the store I am at now..
So you know retail..weekends are when you have the most customers.
Kim,
Yes, I do know retail. My girlfriend is a manager at a store in our mall, so she works on the weekends too. She has a great time with it though.
I hope you have a good day!
yes kim buying for swap was fun...i just hope my 3 people liked em...
Dannye,
Maybe you should pack your own cooler!!
yeah right!! hehe
alrighty I am off for the exciting day ahead...have fun at your wedding and I'll play along next weekend for a short bit....next weekend is the bloggy get together!!
I hope that my people like their bibs too. I sent a halloween and a thanksgiving one. I haven't seen any of my people at the morning chat, so hopefully I haven't given anything away.
Who all is getting together? I haven't heard of it.
I love working at Home Depot.. I didn't think I would..But in the 9 years.. I have grown to love it..
It is really fast paced.. We are the number one store in Arizona..
So it is really busy.. also a lot of contractors..
Got my coffee and this weekend will consist of trying to get back in the swing of things. Vacations are fabby but then reality hits.
Enjoy the wedding.
There was a lovely little gift waiting for us to return. Thank you so much.
Okay well I guess I better finish getting ready ..I need to leave at 5 ..got about 8 min.
Have fun at the wedding..
I will catch up with you later..
Take care
My father-in-law works for Lowe's and he loves it too. The people are so nice. Last weekend at my mother-in-law's funeral, several of the employees and the store manager drove an hour and half to come to the funeral home.
Have a great day Kim!
Good Morning Dawn,
How are you??
Good Morning Everyone.
It looks like my hubby and two older boys will be going to see Harry Potter sometime today. Hubby is reading the series, and just finished the book last night.
S and I will have to find something else to do. He loves to mini golf and bowling, so maybe we will do one of these.
I sent my bibs out this week. I absolutely love them, and hope they do to. I only regret that I didn't order one for myself.
Who knows...we love to plan ambushes around here. Maybe S and I will fill 100 water balloons and plan an ambush on the others when they return from the movie.
We got our oldest yesterday afternoon when he was walking home from the bus stop after school. Only filled 10 balloons though.
Hi Nancy!
I got my bibs out a couple of days ago, so I hope that my people like mine too. I got some holiday ones. I did get one for my 2 year old Eli. My oldest son has read the new Harry Potter book, but we haven't seen the latest movie.
Miniature golf or bowling sounds good for today. Is is hot where you are?
I love that! We should do some ambushing around here. The boys would love it.
Actually, the weather here finally cooled down. We actually turned off the air last night, and opened windows. I am in my long jammies and a jacket right now.
It's cool here this morning too. I wonder if fall is trying to come in. I tell you, after the heat of this summer, I think I'm ready for fall.
I read your post yesterday about what your agency is saying and I think they might be right. It really made me sad though, our wait is going to be so long now.
It's suppose to warm back up here Tuesday. It's just nice to be able to air the house out for a few days.
The last 3 weeks here was the worst for the weather here. Before that, I think we only had our air on for about 10 days this summer.
You are close to us in Indiana, I live in Michigan. We probably have pretty similar weather.
My husband and I have decided that we are not going to change programs for the adoption. Even though it really seems like the agency is encouraging it. We are going to give it 6 months and see what happens, then we may look at Special Needs.
This was something he would not even consider in the past. Now however, with the changes - and them accepting children from any orphanage in China, we may see a decrease in the actual health of a "healthy child".
On the flip side however. I worry that the minute we decide to switch, and find a child, and finally get approval, the CCAA will get the referrals for our group done.
I have heard that there was a time before when the wait got to over 2 years, but then it shortened right down again. This is what we are hoping will happen. We just celebrated our 6 month LID. We have signed up to start receiving the SN child list from our agency. We're keeping all of our options open but are staying with the China program.
back for a min...between the moving and the golf tourney...
the bloggy get together Kim currently consists of about 14 + people who live in the area (okay not really in the area as they are driving from all over Fla)...
we are going shopping at Carter's and then doing lunch...
it started out being just myself and 2 others in the Waiting for First Child from China Yahoo group, and has grown
It's just heartbreaking to learn that there are @2million children abandoned every year in China alone. Many of them are not getting the paperwork completed for adoption, little lone the rest of their lives. The children have to have an adult apply for what we call our SS# in order to do anything as an adult (marriage, school, etc). Without it, they are looking forward to a VERY, VERY diffucult, unaccepting life.
I'm excited to meet them and have even made up little goodie bags for each of the families...
okay i am off again!! see you guys later on!!
Dannye- the shopping and lunch get together sounds wonderful.
Wish I were in Florida. Of course, I could then work and live in the happiest place on earth.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Disney World.
Good morning to you too!! Our son that leaves for his 2nd tour to Iraq is getting married sunday evening and then my oldest stepson whom I love dearly is getting married next saturday!!! Our kids have drained the money well and I am one big stress machine right now, so when I clicked on to your blog the purple flowers were so soothing, thanks for that!! Have a great day.
Dannye,
That is so wonderful. There are about 6 families around here, and Steffie B. and I tried to organize a get together, but we didn't have much luck. I'm glad that you have families around you who want to get together.
I'll bet you have great gift bags!
Hi Kristy,
Nice to meet you! Wow, two weddings in two weeks. You are going to be insanely busy.
What a beautiful time though.
How far's Michigan from here? What part? I may be able to trave that distance. I do 5 hour trips all the time.
We live near Grand Rapids, we are about 1.5 hours from the Indiana/Michigan border
I could probably do that in under 4 hours.
WOW!!
Hmm..we may have to plan a day! Maybe we could get a group of ladies together and do a Saturday blog buddies party.
Good morning from Canada,
Hope everybody's well. Seems fall wants to come early here. Brrrr I am cold! And we're supposed to go camping today and tomorrow for the first time with Maëlle.
That's a plan. I could use a "girls" day after all the testosterone I have to deal with around here.
Good Morning Juliette! It's chilly here too this morning. What are your plans for today?
Cold weather is GREAT for camping. You don't sweat all night in the tent, but get to cuddle next to your sweety, Campfires don't make you melt, and you can go on long hikes without having to take a shower afterwards.
Nancy,
Do you want to come up for a group girls day?
Good Morning RMJ and the gang. I am on my way to work. Every Saturday. Have fun girls.
I love your new "look". Very shh-shh oooohhhh la-la.
Definately - Fall sports start next weekend. When I get the schedule this week, I will see which weekend hubby can manage alone (3 boys, 3 sports, 1 driver doesn't usually work too well) and give you some options.
Even if it doesn't happen for a few months, it is something to look forward to.
Hi there Rony! Good Luck out there today! If you say my look is oo la la, then I know I'm hot! I hope you have a great one and sell a lot of houses!
Yep it's true I won't mind especially if we have less mosquitoes. But I don't know how my 3 1/2 daughter is going to do, we'll see...
We're supposed to leave after her swimming lesson this morning, it's only 1 hour away from Ottawa on the river. We'll come back tomorrow evening, hopefully after some canoeing and bicycling.
How do you guys manage with all the extra school activities? Some of my friends spend their week and weekends in practises and tournaments ALL the time...
I want Maëlle to keep Chinese lesson and swimming. I want her to start piano or dance maybe but I feel it'll be too much. How do you do?
Morning everyone. 69 and raining here in Maine... DH was suppose to be working on the porch today!
I'm dragging, stayed up till 2am updating blog. Why do I do that? LOL
Juliette -
We try to limit the boys to 1 activity each. Even that has us going to 3 practices, and at least 3 games a week. On top of school functions, and everything else, that is enough. We don't do travelling teams.
Juliette,
We do a lot of running around. We have 4 children and we encourage them to pursue their interests. Usually they don't overlap very much, but sometimes they do. There are months where I feel like a taxi service. But, I love to watch them trying their best and learning new things and I think that staying physically active is really important for them.
Nancy I think you're wise to do that. Everybody is telling me I should have her starting the piano early but I want her first to know how to swim, piano won't save her life.
Sometime I think this piano thing is a big stereotype about Chinese kids but in the meantime Maëlle just love to "play" when she sees one.
Christine,
I just popped over to your blog to take a look. I tell you those girls are both lovely, but Paige is really breathtaking. What a beauty. Thanks for the song last week. You are a good friend.
Christine - just went and checked your update.
That mouse would have done me in, no matter how small it was. I can't do rodents!
Juliette,
I would love for one of my children to play the piano. I think it is an instrument that they may continue to enjoy into adulthood. It seems that the orchestra instruments seem to lose their luster and the children don't continue to play them.
We live on a lake, so swimming lessons are a must, so I agree that it is lifesaving.
That's the challenge to find a good balance. I want Maëlle to learn, create and define herself in what she does but I also want the family to have time together and not spending time in the car running everywhere. And we have only one kid for now!
I guess we'll see how she does with school first. Maybe she'll be so drained that adding something new won't be an option.
Tks for the sweet comments on the 'glamour' post. They had fun, that's for sure.
The mouse has been let loose.. he was a cute lil thing!
As far as activities, we try to do one at a time. When we were homeschooling we did more, but Paige only has time for one thing (softball or field hockey) with school & homework.
Trying to get Noah involved in something, and he's just not interested. Paige gave up violin (her choice), and would like to take it up again, but doesn't want to commit to practice. Oh well...
Yeah, Zach played the violin until high school and now he doesn't touch it anymore which makes me sad. I'd love to have at least one true musician in the family. We'll see. Tyler has signed up to play the saxaphone or the french horn for this upcoming school year.
Hello Christine,
your girl and her cousin are natural as models. And this little mouse, so cute.
I think you have a point: every kid has different need, some might want to do a lot of activities and some might not need as much. When growing it's nice if they can find their limits and interests.
At one point (a few years back now) Paige was taking violin, cello & swimming lessons. We were spending some bucks, and doing lots of running! Noah was smaller then, and tagged along too.
That little Noah is a cutie. I love that picture of him on your sidebar.
He's total boy, but still will cuddle his Mom = perfect.
Likes to sleepwalk and pee in funny places while he's sleepwalking...
That is too funny!! I have a sleepwalker, but he has never peed while doing it. Usually just ends up in my face, scaring the *#$^ out of me.
My little brother would sleep walk and pee in his closet when he was a boy, too funny! None of my boys do that though.
My oldest has played the trumpet for the past 4 years. We have always had to struggle with him to practice. When preparing his schedule for this year, we gave him an out. His music teacher at school talked him out of giving it up. I was just tired of having to fight with him about it.
Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in and say hi! I'm actually up early here in NorCal!! Why you ask....because I'm off to be refingerprinted!! My husband wants to be first in line!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Oh and everyone must go say a big congrats to Joannah over at http://allthingsnew-joannah.blogspot.com/
Need to finish the last prep for the camping trip...
Have a great weekends everybody!
Enjoy the weekend everyone.
Nice chatting with ya'!
2-3 times a week he sleepwalks, and he's always getting up to pee. One night he peed in the trashcan under my desk (I was downstairs getting a drink), and just 2 nights ago he was going to pee on the wall in the hall! I was at my desk and saw him, and yelped and he stopped, and said, what? I thought I woke him. I got him into the bathroom, and left so he could have privacy. He went back to bed, and I went in the bathroom (mother's intuition?) and he didn't pee in the toilet, but in and ALL OVER Sophia's potty! So I was cleaning the bathroom at 1am... lol
Hi Kayce!
Good luck with the fingerprinting, ours went pretty quickly.
Enjoy your day!
Well everyone, I'm on my way to a wedding. You can still hang out and chat though.
Have a great Saturday!
It looks like I missed all the fun. :-(
I'm still on Kauai time and I'm having a hard time getting up in the morning. That's going to have to change as I go back to work in about a week.
Have a lovely day, Kim!
It's 8:17 here in the Pacific Northwest, a bit too late to join in the conversation. I have to leave for work (my second job) in 20 minutes so I wouldn't have been able to chat much anyway.
What a neat idea though!
Missed out on the chat group this morning as I was at a farmer's market!
Hope you have a nice time at the wedding!!
