You are very special to me too. I guess when you go through something like this together for so long, you learn a lot about each other and become very attached. Our adoption has blessed me in ways that I never would have thought. I am such a different woman now and I have such amazing friends.

I was at work last nighint showing some of the therapists and stuff lynnMaries pics and they had no idea we were adopting. They wanted to know what kind of room holds the kids when we picked them out?

Oh yeah, that's my son's 18th birthday. A good day, for sure!
With our 2nd adoption, we didn't tell too many people -- we learned with the first long wait! And we traveled in the summer time, so folks from my boys' schools were (and still are) taken aback to see me with TWO toddlers. It's just easier to explain afterward than it is beforehand!
Oh, and Pam, I loved your list. Quite true!

So...Amy & Michael, do you have a place in your home that is collecting things you're going to pack? I remember that mess - it's a little overwhelming!
uhm no. We have 2 rooms that collecting gifts and the crib. the nursery is ready and we need to get new carpet. We have friends who are coming over to pack fo us at the end of next week. A couple been there done that friends who rock

we are doing yellow with blankets and sheets of purple and green. her name means Breah of Spring (Chun Ai). We got a riding Panda as a gift and michaels going to frame some panda pics and hopefully it will work out
I LOVE purple and green. Sophia has two purple and green blankets.
You really can't go wrong. It will likely be changed anyway in the next 5-6 years, so have fun!
Eli is getting dressed all by himself right now and it's so fun to watch him figure out everything.

LynnMarie's Chinese name is pretty. My girls' CNs translate to "fruit fruit" and "tender tender" - but they're cute and fun to say!

We're ready for another Disney cruise, but think we're going to wait until the new ships are done. Long wait - it's been a yucky winter and I would LOVE to be in the Caribbean right now!

I have two Mulan dolls that my girlfriend found. I have a formal one and then one that is supposed to be Mulan as a child. It's about 10 inches tall and has a softer body.

I am going to be cleaning out all of the baby toys I saved to and could ship you some of those too.
No idea.. we need some with skinny handles because of her hands but apparently she is already holding those on their own. were you expecting a baby?? what a fun surprise
The Avent do have skinny handles, so I'll slide some of them into the box I send. I was expecting a baby in the beginning 18 months or younger. But after 3 years, Eli is 4 now, so we are ok with a toddler.
I am going to be cleaning everything out starting today and begin getting prepared for a toddler girl to be in the house. I kept everything from when Eli was a baby, thinking I would use it again, but I won't be.
Kimberley, don't give away ALL of your baby toys yet...remember, she hasn't had exposure to all of the toys you have, and may be completely unfamiliar with them, even though they're "supposed" to be for younger babies.
I will keep some, but the social worker we talked with who went to Sophia's orphanage and met her says her orphanage is very well equipped. They have gym teachers and dance instructors. They have a lot of toys and activities. She said Sophia may have less in our home than what she has now.
I just saw some Mulan dolls last night. Not high quality ones, but a shelf of them. DD picked cinderella though.

Yes, but I have been hearing that for some reasons families who go to Beijing now have to stay for almost 3 weeks before getting to go home. We're not too excited about that.
