redmaryjanes said...

Hi there!

redmaryjanes said...

I was just going over to get a photo of LynnMarie to post.

Unknown said...

you are so sweet, So glad you made it home. Is she not precious????

redmaryjanes said...

She is truly beautiful. She has such fine little features. Any idea of when you can go and bring her home?

Unknown said...

we are guessing march or april, probably early april

redmaryjanes said...

I sure hope so. Sorry for the delay, I got an e-mail talking about one of the blogs I read being fake.

Unknown said...

no,seriously??

redmaryjanes said...

Yes, it says the posts are all made up and shows where she took her photos from and claimed them as hers.

Unknown said...

was it an adoption blog/???? where is everyone this mroning??

redmaryjanes said...

I have been out of town for so long, everyone probably thinks there isn't a chat and lately they have been showing up really late, around 10am.

Do you read the Careful Wisher?

Unknown said...

I did not read it. Well I am glad you are back to the chat thing

redmaryjanes said...

Yeah, me too. The holidays were just crazy for us. Now...down to business...are we having a BABY SHOWER?

Unknown said...

you do not need to do that!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Oh yes I do. I would love to have a shower for LynnMarie.

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Good Morning Ladies! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season...I know for sure you did Amy, Congratulations...LynnMarie is beautiful!!

I know that 2009 is our year RMJ!!!!

redmaryjanes said...

January is a great month for a shower. We'll need to pick a Saturday a couple of weeks out and I'll ask someone to put together some fun graphics. You'll need to put together a gift list.

redmaryjanes said...

I sure hope it will be our year!! Happy New Year to you too!

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning -- there IS a Sat. Chat!!!

How lovely.

Truly Blessed said...

Amy,

Lynn Marie is GORGEOUS!!!!

Congratulations, Mama, I'm so happy for you and Michael!

Unknown said...

oh thank you, the well wishes have shocked us. we finished registering and that was fun. RMJ, I used yours to help

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Kelly!

Truly Blessed said...

I read about the "fake" blog -- who in the world has time to do that???

And why would anyone want to?

redmaryjanes said...

You used my registry? Too funny :) I still need to add a car seat to ours. Did you register at Target?

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Sorry to hear about your Grandmothers health RMJ. I will keep her in my prayers. With a full time caregiver & Hospice she will be well taken car of.

redmaryjanes said...

I don't understand about the fake blog either. I have received 3 e-mails about it though. I don't know if she is totally fake, or if she is adopting, but wanted people to think she is really wealthy. I don't get it....

Unknown said...

Target, BRU and Amazon for some of the Chinese adoption stuff I would like..

I registed for evverything I could possible want at BRU because for the first year after she is home, everything on the list is 205off hahaha

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you so much Nikki. This has been a really tough time for our family. Hospice has been absolutely amazing. They have so many services available that I had no idea about.

redmaryjanes said...

I will register at BRU too when we get closer, they have everything. We have most of what we need though because of Eli. But there are some girly things I would like. I don't think Sophia will like Star Wars and Cars sippy cups :)

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Nikki (have we met?) I just popped over to your blog and don't recognize it (sorry).

I'm Kelly (aka Truly Blessed)...

Kimberley, Hospice is a wonderful organization. Your Grandma will be well taken care of, and your Aunts will get a little break each time someone from Hospice comes.

Unknown said...

watch your words RMJ. YOu just never know.hahaha

I cant wait to see Sophia

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

A fake adoption blog!! Someone has too much time on their hands!
I am so out of touch with everything going on...I have been neglecting blog land for the last few weeks. Time to get back on track and write a post and catch up on all the blogs I follow.

Nancy said...

Good Morning.
Congratulation Amy. I missed that you had received a referral. She is precious.

redmaryjanes said...

Yes...my boys tease me that she will be a huge Tomboy and that would be ok as long as I can get a bow into her ponytail :)

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Nancy, how are you honey?

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Nancy, did you have a lovely Christmas with those fun boys of yours?

redmaryjanes said...

Yeah, I don't know what to think about the fake blog but I have received 3 e-mails about it because I read it and commented. It is down now, so I don't know what the truth is.

Unknown said...

we are beyond thrilled and have some God moments almost every day since accepting her..One day I will share..Ots amazing and beautiful

redmaryjanes said...

I have been kind of out of touch too Nikki :)

Nancy said...

We are doing well around here. We did have a fun Christmas here.
My youngest was upset last night because we did not have another Nerf Gun fight. I reminded him that his dad is off today, so you can probably see what is in my future today.

redmaryjanes said...

LynnMarie is just darling and so young. I am thrilled with how young she is.

Nancy said...

I need some motivation to get to the gym. It's just not there anymore.

redmaryjanes said...

Too funny, we have Nerf gun fights here too :)

redmaryjanes said...

You can do it Nancy! I have been really proud of you for your running.

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Hi Kelly! I think we chatted here once before ... quite a while ago. I believe you were just getting ready to leave or just got back from getting Ella. Your family is beautiful. I just popped over to your blog for a sec ... I will check it out better a little later.

Truly Blessed said...

Nancy,

I just about died laughing at your comment on my blog about me adding more physical activity in my daily schedule. If you meant what I thought you meant, I'm sure my husband would be thrilled to help me out!

Unknown said...

I really am glad to see all of you.

RMJ, I really thought we would be getting a 18 month old at referral

redmaryjanes said...

Just to get everyone thinking, I want you all to know that I'm going to do the Supplyraiser for Starfish again this year. Hopefully it will be as successful as it was last year.

Truly Blessed said...

Nikki,

You're probably right. My brain doesn't work as well as it used to!

We've been HOME with Ella six months -- as of TODAY! Can you even imagine, home six months already?

I feel a blog post coming on!!!

Nancy said...

I added up my 'running' mileage from when I started keeping track (February) to the last day of 2008.
I had run 722.48 miles.

Unknown said...

Cant wait for details RMJ, how is your family by the way??

redmaryjanes said...

I haven't seen many babies as young as LynnMarie being referred, so I am hoping that many more will be.

Truly Blessed said...

722.48 miles is incredible.

Congratulations!

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

I hear ya’ on the gym motivation … getting back on track is soooo hard!! I hope I haven’t blown all my hard work at Weight Watchers with all the piggin’ out I did over Christmas!

Nancy said...

Yea, that's what I meant Kelli!

redmaryjanes said...

We are doing well. Tyler had a friend stay over last night and Zach is texting someone I'm sure. Eli is riding the bike he got for Christmas around the house, or trying to anyway since we don't have enough room for that.

Tim's making some coffee..so all is well :)

Unknown said...

sounds like you are having fun

Nancy said...

Amy - any progress on Lynn Marie's room since receiving the referral?

Truly Blessed said...

Geez, I'd love it if someone made coffee for me...

All of my guys are up north, skiing this weekend.

I'm home working on the floor (but taking a well-deserved break to chat with y'all).

redmaryjanes said...

What are you doing with the floor Kelly? Cleaning the grout?

Nancy said...

Are you going to have someone seal it for you properly when you are done?

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

No problem it is hard to remember everyone. To be honest, I mostly remember the blog title and not the person’s name…

6 months already!!! Time flies when your havin’ fun!
HAPPY 6 month-aversary!!

Truly Blessed said...

Amy,

You're through review, right?

If so, you'll likely travel in February, I'd guess -- things go QUICKLY when you're already through review!

Unknown said...

Nancy non what so ever. We have a crib but its still at someones house.
Going to look for a dresser at garage sales and thrift stores and then get started
i think we are going to do a garden theme

Unknown said...

we are actually possibly in the middle of review so we will see how that goes..we were LID 4/07

Nancy said...

We had friends in Maryland that painted a garden mural, and then put a white picket fence on the walls in the bottom.
When their daughter was out of the crib, they put a Little Tikes house in it with a bed under it.
It was very cute.

Truly Blessed said...

Cleaning the grout, the tile, everything. The tile is so dirty and gross. Who would put porous off-white tile in a kitchen -- and not seal the grout? My shyster builder, that's who.

Yes, I've been on my hands and knees since 8:30 am on January 1st with a steamer going over every inch of the grout. It's looking good now, but my back is aching!

As for sealing it, yes, I'll definitely be sealing it, but I haven't yet found a sealer that really works. A friend said she had Stanley Steemer do her tile/grout (clean and seal) and it's been great, so maybe I'll end up calling them.

The difference already, though, is amazing and worth the painful back spasms!

Carla said...

Good Morning All....

Amy, LynnMarie is just precious!!

redmaryjanes said...

I have seen that too Nancy and it is darling. I will probably do something similar with Sophia's room, but she may share with Eli for a while..it depends on when we get our referral and how old she is.

Gail said...

Good Morning Ladies! Haven't been to the chat in a long time and wanted to say hi.

Congrats Amy!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi Carla!
Where are you right now?

Nancy said...

Arianna's room is still sitting there waiting. Sometimes I feel guilty making 2 of the boys share when we have this empty room.

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Gail, how are you?

Truly Blessed said...

Amy, I bought my girls' dresser at a yard sale, too. I sanded it and put a couple of coats of thick white glossy paint on it, new flower handles and voila! it's perfect - and less than $75 bucks...

Having said that, however, there are some gorgeous dressers (for a whole lot more money) in the Pottery Barn Kids catalog that I would love to be able to justify, but simply cannot.

Carla said...

I am at home :-)

Unknown said...

I am not creative at all

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Gail & Carla, is it a beautiful, sunshiney day where you are?

Nancy said...

Amy your creativity will flow when you know you are doing it for Lynn Marie.

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Good morning Gail! Hope you had a nice holiday season with your family.

redmaryjanes said...

Oh, so your husband has gone to bring Rylea home. You must be getting so excited!

Nancy said...

I'll return. Going to try to go to the gym before hubby needs to go get a haircut.

Gail said...

I'm well, Will is playing with his train set and Grace spent the night at a friend's house. Dan goes back to work on Monday.

Kimberley, I'm so sorry about your Grandma, but happy she's being well taken care of.

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Carla, I just stopped by your blog…Rylea is adorable!! Congrats!

Carla said...

Yes, he went alone...we are getting impatient and he won't even get her until tomorrow night! LOL

Truly Blessed said...

Carla,

You're from San Antonio? We were just there in December for a travel group reunion. Such fun!

Two families from our group live in SA, others in Houston & Austin and others traveled in from Arizona, Lousiana, Florida, Washington St., and Michigan. What fun!

Gail said...

It is cloudy here and looks like it might snow...again.

Amy, your daughter looks so much like a little girl from Grace's travel group. Of course that little girl is now 6, Lynn Marie looks just like her. Such pretty features.

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you Gail. Hospice is a blessing, there is no doubt about it. I don't know how we could make this work well with keeping her home without their help.

Unknown said...

ok guys, Im going to head out. I may be back. But I didnt get much sleep so I am going to nap until the man wakes up!!!!!

Truly Blessed said...

Well, as much as it pains me to say, I really should get back to the floor...

It was a very pleasant way to take a break, chatting with all of you.

Gail, keep the snow. We don't want any more now that Christmas is over. Thanks!

I might pop back in again...

Carla said...

Truly Blessed,

We ARE in SA! We love it here. We are military so we are not from here. It is beautiful!!

Unknown said...

see you guys in a bit hopefully. By the way, I love comments on our blog. We are going to put all the congrats and things in a lovely book for LynnMarie to give her info on this amazing time. If any of you can, please stop by the referral post!!!!

thanks yall rock

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

redmaryjanes said...

How are you Crystal, I haven't talked to you in such a long time. How is Savannah Hope doing?

Kim said...

Good morning ladies..
Not sure who is all here.. going to go catch up right now..

redmaryjanes said...

We are doing well. We are still waiting for our referral. We had a difficult time over the holidays since my Grandmother's lung cancer is overtaking her. But we are hanging in there.

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Kim!

Carla said...

I have to go too. I am baby sitting for a friend & the baby is crying!

Gail said...

Hi Nikki, I think you're still here. How are things going?

Kim said...

Amy~ just wanted to say how adorable Lynn Marie is...
I can't imagine how you are feeling..
It is getting a little bit real for me.. finally babies are being referred to families I have met..
And March is huge..Can't wait..
Kim~ just wanted to send you a hug..I know how hard it is..

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great 2009 i just know youfr sweet pink baby will be home this year!!

Gail said...

Good Morning Kim!

redmaryjanes said...

I have thought of you Kim and your posts when your Grandfather was passing. It is awful. Our trip was bittersweet, my Grandmother paid a lot of attention to the boys and they were able to tell each other that they loved each other and that was really special. Eli was a blessing too because he is just naturally really affectionate and gave her hugs and kisses whenever he could.

Kim said...

Good Morning Gail..
Still trying to figure this comment thing out..
Ihave to close the window every time..
I thought there was an easier way to do this..

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Crystal, I'll just over to your blog to see what's going on :)

redmaryjanes said...

Kim,

Go out of here and back to the post on the blog. right click on comments and you can open the window and then you won't have to close out all the time, you can just hit refresh.

redmaryjanes said...

Gail, I just love that photo of you with Will. I would love to learn more about his orphanage. Maybe we could do some supply raisers for them.

Kim said...

Kimberley~ If you need to talk call me anytime..It was really hard.. but remember when I said..do I go now before he goes or to the funeral... I am soooo glad I went before.. he had up's and down's and he looked really skinny but you knew it was him.. I would crawl into his hospice bed and lay with him and hold him.. it was soooo great.. i have not been back since he passed and we are going back this summer.. Nick wants to see my mom and other family memebers before he leaves for bootcamp.. it will be hard.. I think of him all the time.. but it is always the great things he did..
I am sending you HUGE HUGS.. it is really hard..

Kim said...

YES...
Got it..
Thanks..
so much easier..
So is anyone doing anything fun today.., I have been sooo lazy on my vacation..besides my love of cleaning..LOL

redmaryjanes said...

It is really awful. I really struggled finding the right things to say. The night I spent in the hospital with her will always be precious to me and I'm glad that the boys could say goodbye. She is just in so much pain and I can't imagine how afraid she is. But she never talks about it. There are two people on this earth who ground me and she is one of them. My Aunt is the other and she is in tremendous pain too.

Gail said...

I'll do a big post about them this month. I keep in contact with Deena(the director) by email and update her on Will pretty frequently. She tells me about the other kids and how they're doing. That would be wonderful Kimberley, I'll see what I can find out from Deena. I know typically they need meds and most likely clothing. What's been hard for them is that with the poor economy in the US their donations have been down.

redmaryjanes said...

I don't know what we're going to do today..I should probably take down the Christmas decorations. I haven't even started that. I got some old cast iron too that I'd like to season so I can use it.

redmaryjanes said...

Gail, I am doing the Starfish drive again in February, but I'd be glad to do a summer drive for them here on my blog, or help you do one on yours if you want to. I just am amazed by these people who are on the front lines saving our children.

Kim said...

Love the cast iron.. John's stepmom has always used it and I always said I wanted to get one.. they have sooo many antiques..
So for Christmas I got one..
I have used it every night..
LOVE IT..

Gail said...

I think the hardest thing is finding the right words to say, Kimberley. I can imagine how afraid she is, but when her pain is managed better (and it will be), she'll be so much more comfortable. Hospice is a Godsend, it truly is.

redmaryjanes said...

My FIL gave me 4 cast iron skillets, so I want to get them cleaned up and start using them. I have always been told that cast iron is the best for cooking, so I'm looking forward to using mine.

Gail said...

What do you cook(or make) in cast iron? LOL Now I'm getting hungry.

redmaryjanes said...

I could not believe everything hospice offers and now you don't have to sign off that you won't receive treatment. They said one woman has been on hospice for 3.5 years. They coordinate her meds and supply everything we need to keep her at home and the 24 hour call line and the ability to have an nurse come out if needed 24x7 has truly saved our family.

redmaryjanes said...

You can cook anything in it. Mine are fry pans, so I'll cook eggs, pancakes, anything I cook on the stove top with them. I have a stew pot too, but I probably won't use that as often.

I saw two cast iron skillets at Good Will the other day and I should have bought them. I love Good Will.

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Sorry I missed your comment earlier Gail. Things are going good. I am a bit tired today as I thought I was being a smarty pants last night and stayed up until 2am playing wii with my husband, lol!! Then I had to be up at 7:30 to do some reports for work...ugh!!!

Gail said...

Dan's mom has been in hospice on and off for 5 years. She has an inoperable aortic aneurysm and has had many strokes. She's back in hospice now. It's been amazing for her and is such peace of mind for us, that she's so well taken care of. I never knew you could be in hospice that long, but you can.

Kim said...

Hospice did good for my Grandfather..but my mother did everything.. they just came and gave him his bath.. and then they sent the meds.. my mother did some amazing things.. she is soooo strong.. now she is taking care of my grandmother none stop.. she has not slept in her bed with my dad since before my Grandfather..

redmaryjanes said...

I want to get wii fit, do you have it Nikki? My Aunt has it and it's so much fun.

Kim said...

Gail~ the cast iron is really neat.. and honestly easy to clean after you get it seasoned.. you just put hot water in it and use a light brush and dry it out..
EASY

Gail said...

Nikki, so you got about 5 hours of sleep...maybe you can take a nap today. I love naps, but don't get many anymore.

Kimberley and Kim, I think I'm going to find a cast iron skillet, maybe at our Good Will here. :)

Mr.Brian said...

Good Morning ladies.Hope 2009 has been good for you so far.Wishing you the very best in09.
Have a great weekend.
Just had to pop on and say hi.So HI!!!!

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Yes "Santa" brought me wii fit for Christmas ... it is worth all the fuss!! I LOVE it!! I am hoping it will help with weight loss this winter. We were very fortunate to get one as I know many people wanted them when they were sold out.

redmaryjanes said...

Kim,

How did you season yours? Everything I read says I have to put in the over for 2 hours.

Kim said...

okay.. have to tellyou guys this.. KyLee had her best friend stay over and she is the one with the twins.. and I tell you what.. I soooo can not wait to have Isabella home.. the joy of a little 1 1/2 year old.. I LOVE IT

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Mr. Brian, Happy New Year!

redmaryjanes said...

I really want a wii fit. We had such fun with it over Christmas at my Aunt's. It is a good work out.

redmaryjanes said...

I can't wait to have a little one in the house too. Eli is such a big boy now. Yesterday I bought a little 24 month dress coat for Sophia, it so darling and some hair bows.
I am trying to keep up with you Kim with the hair bows. I need to start making my own. I love the bow you sent me with Sophia's name on it.

Kim said...

To season it you have to clean it out good.. scrub all the yuck off and then put either lard or bacon grease on it.. just rub it on there.. and then put it in the oven on 270 for 15 min.. then take it out and pour out the grease that is sitting in there and then put it back in for 2 hours..
and then it is done.. you just cook adn then when you are done .. you put hot water in it and I use a light brush and dry out.. you dont want to leave water sitting in it. andthen it is good until it starts sticking.. nothing sticks..

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Well ladies it was great chattin’ again. Thanks!
I hope to be blogging (and maybe a little wii too) most of my day once I get my housework dealt with. I have many pictures to post and I desperately need to get around to do some reading & commenting. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Smiles! :o)
Nikki

Gail said...

Kimberley, I really think this is your year for Sophia. I'm excited for you!

k1 said...

Good morning all.
Gonna finish reading the 133 comments already here.
What is this about a fake blog?

Sorry about your Grandma, Kimberley.

Kim said...

I am a sucker for bows.. wait till you see these cupcakes, icecream cones and ladybugs ones... you will all want one..when she gets them to me.. I will of course post..
I wish I knew how to make bows..
I would be set..lol..
I have one bow with Isabella's name on it.. and it is the one Steffie got me in the swap..

Kim said...

I am with you Gail on Sophia..
She WILL be here this year..
I can't wait ..

redmaryjanes said...

Have a wonderful day Nikki, I am so excited for you guys, you have waited a long time for Rylea.

redmaryjanes said...

I think so too Gail, at least I hope. I really would like her home by summer. I am so ready and so is the rest of the family.

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Karen, how are you? Your sister was on earlier, but had to get back to cleaning her grout :)

Gail said...

Summer would be great RMJ. I know you are more than ready for her. 2009 is going to be a good year I think and so fun to see referrals coming in with so many people we know now. :)

Gail said...

Well, I need to go...to the grocery store(not my fav errand), but it has to be done.

Take care everyone and have a great week!

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great week Gail!

Musings from Kim K. said...

Hi friends. I can't chat this morning (I've got to get these Christmas decorations put away) but I wanted to say "Happy New Year" to everyone.

I'm continuing my craft series on my blog and will be featuring Chinese New Year kid-friendly crafts. I just posted another one this morning.

Have a great weekend!!
http://kenward.blogspot.com

Kim said...

Have fun at the grocery store Gail..
Have a Great Day..

redmaryjanes said...

I'll go and check out your craft, maybe Eli and I can make some fun things this weekend.

redmaryjanes said...

Kim,
I'm going to follow your comment for seasoning. I'm going to get it done today.

Kim said...

I will have to look at the crafts.. noone ever wants to do those things with me around here..they are all toooo old...LOL

k1 said...

ok, just finished reading.

yeah, I seem to always miss Kel.

So, have you been able toook at lists lately?

Kim said...

You will LOVE the pan.. I think I am going to go and find a skillet and a big pot..the big pot would work for us perfect... I have to cook sooo much.. these boys eat A LOT

redmaryjanes said...

Kelly just sent me the latest list, but our agency won't allow us to inquire about children on the list. I think I just may start though, even if they disregard it. We've been trying for over a year now to get an SN referral.

redmaryjanes said...

My FIL gave me a pretty good sized pot, you could cook a chicken in it. Then I have one pan called a chicken pan and then a 10 inch and 8.5 inch frying pans.
I wish I would have picked up the two I saw at Good Will.

k1 said...

I think it's dumb that B won't let you look at shared lists. Are they that concerned with some other agency getting a dollar that they want or is it something else?

redmaryjanes said...

B isn't referring any babies hardly at all off of the shared list, so I'm not thinking they are making much money at all right now off of their China program. I know that there have been a LOT of complaints, so I'm hoping there will be some action after the new year.

k1 said...

I hope so!

Hope all your snow melts soon, too. Ours finally is.

Jill W said...

Good morning, ladies. I am finally home on a Sat morning. I don't think I have ever been able to join in before. I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy New Year!

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Jill, how is everything going with the adoptions?

Nancy said...

Back from my run. I decided to run outside instead of going to the gym.

k1 said...

Good Morning, and Welcome

redmaryjanes said...

Kim, I just put the lard on the inside of the pan, or all over it?

redmaryjanes said...

Nancy, you are the Queen! Queen of Fitness for sure!

k1 said...

I need some of Nancy's discipline and determination!!!!

Nancy said...

My run proved to be beneficial. I found a little tikes table that someone was giving away. I was able to get it for my classroom. My house area has been without one since I started.

Jill W said...

Shelly got her LOA on day 111 of her wait. They are one step closer to bringing Eli home. We are on day 36 of our wait, so we have a little ways to go. I am just hoping our Garmin raffle picks up a bit. I think we will end it on Superbowl Sunday.

redmaryjanes said...

Yeah, me too.
So Karen, how are you doing? How is Mav?

Nancy said...

K1, I'm not sure it's determination anymore. I have a hard time motivating myself to go anymore.

Kim said...

just put the lard on the inside... like if you were greasing a pan..
then put it in for 15 .. then drain off extra.. and then bake for 2 hours

as for Nancy.. I sooo wish I could run...I need to do something..

redmaryjanes said...

I'll do a post for your raffle. The fundraisers have really been struggling lately. The economy is so scarey right now.

Nancy said...

What are you all cooking?

redmaryjanes said...

Kim,
Ok, so in for 15 with the lard, then I drain it and in again for another 2 hours at 250. I'm starting now.

I have some cast iron that my FIL gave to me and I need to season it before I start using it.

redmaryjanes said...

I need to do something with my weight too. Has anyone heard anything about alli?

Kim said...

YES and we are seasoning cast iron

I'm doing okay, still trying to clear up an infection in both eyes, so life is a blur much of the time from the antibiotic gel. Makes it interesting to see to type and read.

Mav is okay. His son, DIL, and grandson were with him for two weeks. They flew out yesterday so he is dealing with some empty house feelings now.

I hope to see him sometime this weekend, but gotta give him his space.

on Alli.. a girl I know used it.. and you have to really watch.. or you will be sitting on the toilet with no notice.. sorry.. kind of nasty.. but telling you what she said..

k1 said...

I've heard it gives you the runs and they come without warning.

Kim said...

but just like anything else.. if you stop then your weight comes back on.. that is what happened with her.. so it is a matter of eating right and walking or running.. we eat good here.. just need to get on my treadmill about 30 min a day and work myself up...
I have never had to excercise.. but in my old age it looks like I will have to

Kim said...

does anyone know of an all natural cleanser.. I wanted to try the cleanser... but dont' want a medicine one.. want all natural

redmaryjanes said...

What type of cleanser, what for?

redmaryjanes said...

Ok, so she lost weight, but was on the toilet all the time?
Ugh!

I'd be interested in the cleanser too. After the bout of diverticulitis, I want to reduce the possibility of having another episode. It HURTS!

Thanks, Shelly & I really appreciate you posting it on your site. I know things are tough all over. I am just thankful that both Mike and I have jobs. I hope 2009 brings good changes for everyone. I gotta run. The gang is back from youth league bowling. It is off to Grandma & Grandpa's for a visit. Have a great day everyone. Hopefully I can join you again soon.

Where are the nurses and doctors when you need them? We need answers!

Oh, Amy is a nurse but she works nice and had to go to bed.

This chat has taken a nasty turn!!

Kim said...

Sorry.. no more talking about S**T....LOL..
did you take it out and drain the extra greese Kimberley

Nancy said...

I had heard that about Alli too. I simply record everything I eat when I am trying to lose weight. You think more about what you put in your mouth when you know you will have to write it down.

Nancy said...

I still want to know what you are cooking!!

Kim said...

We are seasoning a cast iron pan...
Not cooking yet..

Hey everyone, I'm back for a bit. Hi Karen!

Kim, you need a "Shark" steamer. It's been a wonderful for the floors & grout. You still have to be on your knees, but the steamer does a lot of the work for you.

I have heard that journaling or recording what you eat is one of the single most effective things you can do when trying to loose weight.

redmaryjanes said...

I have 3 minutes left and then I'll dump out the grease.

I have 4 old cast iron pans that I am cleaning up and you have to bake them in your over for 2 hours to do it..it's called seasoning them.
