I have one of those.. I must not know how to use it very well.. very messy...

Nancy said...

How much do you have left to do? You were half way through the other day.

k1 said...

Hey, Sis!

Nancy said...

I was hoping for something good. I've not had breakfast yet.

Kim said...

what about every day or cleaning the floor.. without getting on your hands and knees..

Truly Blessed said...

Just got my little girli-os out of the bathtub. They're both wearing little denim overalls and are just too stinkin' cute!

Nancy said...

I am trying a new dip for hubby to take to work Tuesday. It's called chocolate chip cookie dough dip. You serve it with vanilla wafers or cinnamon graham crackers.
Found the recipe in the paper this week.

k1 said...

After running, you must be really hungry!

Truly Blessed said...

Kim, I vaccuum every day and spot clean as needed. The floor gets mopped once a week and it's still so dirty all of the time. Maybe I should drag out the mop 2x a week (uck!).

I would much rather rip up the tile and replace it with hardwood. No money for that, though...

Nancy said...

A bit, but since it's already after 10, I think I'll wait for lunch.

k1 said...

Nancy, you're mean!

We're talking about loosing weight and you bring up choc chip cookie dip and cookies. sheesh!

redmaryjanes said...

Ok, I drained the grease, but there wasn't much to drain and put them back in.

Nancy said...

Sorry, just thought it was an interesting recipe.

Kim said...

I vac. every day too.. you just mop with a reg. mop.. I just don't like it going into the grout..

Kimberley~ you dont' have lots..just a little bit..
you are doing GREAT>...

Nancy said...

Anyone made resolutions that don't involve weight?
I know Kelli is going to be more physically active from her blog.

Truly Blessed said...

Nancy, to answer your question, the tiles and grout in the kitchen & eating area are clean. They need to be mopped again to get up all of the old cleanser.

THEN, everything needs to be sealed. Only I haven't yet found a sealer that actually works. Kim hasn't either, and she has all of H.D. to choose from -- you'd think H.D. would sell SOMETHING that works! Kidding, Kim...I've tried everything and the dirt keeps getting through it.

The tiles aren't sealed either, so maybe I should look into something that can seal them as well -- they get pretty grungy too.

Oh, and I ran out of distilled water, so I can't steam the tiles & grout in the back hallway until I get some more...

Kim said...

That sounds good.. you will have to post it..
YUMMY...

redmaryjanes said...

I don't have tile or hard wood. I have linoleum and carpet. I want hard wood in my kitchen and tile in my bathrooms. One day.....

k1 said...

Maybe Kelly can hire the Cleaning Nazi. Does she hire out?

and just kidding about the 'mean' comment. :)

Nancy said...

The Cleaning Nazi is MIA. I haven't seen her in way too long.

Truly Blessed said...

And guess what -- more floor blues...

The tile runs past the kitchen, down a hallway into the foyer and all throughout the formal dining room. I can't just stop at the kitchen (believ me, I tried), I have to keep going into those other areas as well.

AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!

Nancy said...

That is ALOT of tile. It amazes me that you have gotten as much done as you have with the girlios around.

Truly Blessed said...

Well, I'm off to the store for distilled H2O and to see if I can find "Janitor in a Drum" (remember that?) I've been told that is good for tile floors & grout...

k1 said...

That's it! That's the solution! Just stain the floors blue! As pourous as the tile/grout are, they'll take the stain with ease. There, see how smart you are!!

Of course, green would go better with the wall color, but blue could work.

Truly Blessed said...

Nancy,

My poor daughters have been ignored. They have watched more videos in the last two days than they have watched their entire lives combined.

I feel so guilty about that -- so guilty I just gave them each a sucker!

Nancy said...

They are enjoying your guilt, I'm sure!!!

Kim said...

Okay.. this is the second time I typed this.. when we had our tile put in 2 years ago.. the guy said you dont' have to seal it .. WRONG.. can't imagine not.but have tried 3 different sealers...
And if youwant a good spot cleaner or just an overall cleaner.. the Clorox~ Green WOrks... all purpose cleaner... I wipe down the couters and clean all the time.. I have a problem.. smells good too

redmaryjanes said...

I'm totally confused here. Man Kelly, I'd save up and hire someone. You have SO much tile.

k1 said...

I'm going to try to have a regular DAILY devotion time. It's usually been hit or miss

Nancy said...

'Green' was one of the words that is on the "outs" list for 2009. What will we use now?

Nancy said...

K1 I like your resolution. I would like to do that, but know that I am hit or miss with it.

redmaryjanes said...

Kelly,

I would come and get the girls and bring them here, but I don't know how Ella would handle that. And we have a 6pm hockey game for Zach tonight.

Nancy said...

I do have the devotion book you mentioned on your blog, however. I like it.

Truly Blessed said...

The girls got "My Little Pony" toys from one of the brothers for Christmas - each pony came with a DVD of "MLP" videos. They've been watching that (over and over again) which makes a nice break from watching "Cinderella" for the 101th time!

redmaryjanes said...

Hmm...my pans are starting to smell a little bit.

Nancy said...

My youngest loved MPP. About drove my hubby crazy. He had about 20 of them I took into school.

Nancy said...

Are they suppose to smell?

redmaryjanes said...

I love Cinderella. We have been watching Mulan for the past couple of days. Wish we could move on to Mulan 2. I want to get the new Tinkerbell movie.

Kim said...

They will .. if they were not seasoned recently..John said he remembers the house smelling.. but mine didn't..
But it was pretty clean..

Truly Blessed said...

Aw, Kimberley, that's sweet. Ella has a bit of a cold, so you may not want her around! We'll be fine. I can get a lot done when they're occupied with the video and when they're napping, of course.

But I can't do anything without distilled water, so I have to go. I'm closing the computer now!

Bye all, have a wonderful day!

Really closing the computer NOW!

k1 said...

Nancy, so do I so far. I picked it up last year and skipped around in it. Want to actually follow it this year. Also want to make it all the way through my One Year Bible this time. Have nade it as far as April in past attempts.

Kim said...

Has anyone seen Marley and Me

Nancy said...

Last year I found a glass slipper ornament I bought for Arianna, and the daughter of a friend who really likes Cinderella.
It weighs a ton.

Kim said...

Have a great day Kelly...

Nancy said...

Bye Kelly!

Marla said...

Hi all and Happy New Year! I totally forgot it was Saturday, LOL.

redmaryjanes said...

See you tomorrow Kelly!

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Marla!

redmaryjanes said...

Did everyone get their ornaments in the ornament swap?

Kim said...

Good Morning Marla

Nancy said...

I think it's time to hit the shower and get the laundry started for the week.
Have a great week everyone.
I go back tomorrow, and am worried that there will be at least 3-4 kiddo's I will never see again.

Nancy said...

I received mine.

Kim said...

YES... LOVED my ornament.. and she got her's also...that was sooo much fun..
I am up for another swap.. not sure what kind.. but love them..

k1 said...

Why wouldn't you see them?

redmaryjanes said...

I love swaps too. I think it's time for another bow swap!

Nancy said...

I have alot of parents that move around, ALOT. I lost 3 after fall break, and that was only for a week.

Nancy said...

How about a recipe swap? I need some new ideas for dinner that are quick, easy, and kid tested.

k1 said...

I should get up and do something. Unload the dryer, put the stuff that's been in the washer since yesterday in the dryer, all thatb fun stuff. May start taking down some of the Christmas stuff.

Marla said...

Wow, LynnMarie is gorgeous! What a pretty baby! I never get tired of seeing referral pics.

Nancy said...

Have a good week, all. I'm off!!!

k1 said...

That's a good idea, Nancy

Kim said...

You know me and bow swaps.. we could do a bow swap and then put a recipe or two with it..

redmaryjanes said...

Have a good week Nancy!

k1 said...

I'm gonna get motivated too. Shouldn't have the compyter near the bed! Makes it too easy to be a slug!

redmaryjanes said...

LynnMarie is a cutie and so young too, she's only 8 months old. I think it's wonderful she has been referred at such a young age. We'll be having a shower for her soon.

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great week too Karen. :)

Kim said...

Bye Karen

redmaryjanes said...

We were getting the shared list through an agency called Hope and they sent out an e-mail that they are now out of business.

Marla said...

It is great! Our youngest was 8 1/2 months at referral, so we got her at just over 10 months. That was 5 years ago, Jan 5th! Good grief, where does the time go?!?!

Marla said...

Oh, I'd love a bow/recipe swap!

Kim said...

That is not good so now what...doesn't your agency have it,,,our agency will not do SN

redmaryjanes said...

I raised our age to under 4 years. I keep hearing they have children over 3 who need families. I just want Sophia to be younger than Eli, so I raised our age. Hopefully we will have a referral soon.

Marla said...

Sorry to hear that RMJ, so what happens now?

Kim said...

Does it seem like 5 years...
I can't imagine how the time flies.. doesn't seem like my baby should be graduating High School and leaving home

Marla said...

Wow, that's great, there are so many toddlers out there too! That's one reason we decided to go for an older child the 2nd time. We were expecting to adopt a 3-4 year old, but knew when we saw Jacey (who was 5), that she was meant to be ours.

redmaryjanes said...

I am not with Hope, so we're fine. I am just sad to see agencies shutting their doors, it's not good for the waiting kiddos.

Kim, I hope your agency will consider doing SN. Has anyone pushed them on it?

Kim said...

That is great Kimberley...
I know you will get your referral this year..
She is waiting..

redmaryjanes said...

Marla,
I totally hear you. Zach is a junior here and wants to go to a college 10 hours from home. I can't imagine my life without him in it all of the time.

Marla said...

I can't imagine my kids being teenagers yet, Kim, but as fast as it's going I know it will be here before I know it. My oldest will be 10 this year.

redmaryjanes said...

How was Jacey's transition?

Kim said...

They will NOT.. they said that.. I have asked many times.. we don't really get a lot of info from them..
Just basic.. I won't use them again..

Marla said...

There are so many of you who will be getting your kiddos this year, it's going to be fun in our little corner of bloggyland!

Kim said...

I can't wait either..that is what keeps me sooo positive..
ANd then next year I feel is my year..
Let's hope that China speed's up...
I really think they will

redmaryjanes said...

I will not use our agency again either. We are definitely not their priority. They come first and we fit in when they have the time. There are so many angry families right now.

Marla said...

Jacey did beautifully. She was very well-prepared for the adoption by both Holt and her foster mom and I think that was the key. Plus, I think being 5 made it easier for her to understand what was really happening, I can see how it would be harder for a 2-3 year old to grasp the whole concept.

Kim said...

It seems like ours will answer the questions I ask. but very basic.. and they don't really check in on us.. iknow the wait is long.. but we had to pay all our fees upfront.. and they got what they want.. now they don't do anything..
Now I did hear that they do a great job while in china.. so I guess they have other things.. who knows..

Marla said...

Oh, and Kimberley, sorry if I was one of many who bombarded you with emails about that blog, I just wanted to make sure you knew. I got very defensive when I saw that several people who I consider friends were on her list.

redmaryjanes said...

I am hearing from many sources that people are pulling out or going SN. So, the wait should speed up. But I have also heard from a very reliable source that China is going to start making less and less non SN babies paper ready and are going to start moving to an SN only program. So, we'll have to see how it all shakes out.

Kim said...

Marla are you talking about that fake blog...

Marla said...

I can't imagine working for an agency right now. There must be so many frustrated families. We have friends who are interested in starting an adoption from China and it makes me sad to think they may have to wait 3 years or more to get a child.

Marla said...

Yeah, I didn't follow her, but got wind of the blog and did a little digging myself. I was deeply disturbed by what I read and found.

redmaryjanes said...

Marla,
I appreciate the heads up because I did follow her blog.
The whole thing is just bizarre. I am talking with Rhonda in e-mail right now about it because she e-mailed me about it too.

I don't understand what the motivation was. Is she totally fake or adopting and just wanted us all to think she was wealthy?

Kim said...

I know it is long.. but I think if you really want to wait.. you will get your babies.. I know a lot of families are going other routes and waiting.. it is really sad.. when there are soo many children who need homes..

redmaryjanes said...

Marla,

They will wait 5 years or more to get a child from China, I would tell them to persue another country right now.

Kim said...

I have never seen her blog till she added me as her followers list..
but got tons of emails about it..
and she comments on my blog..
but dont' want to start an issue..

redmaryjanes said...

I do believe 100 percent that if you have your dossier in, you will get a baby. I just don't know how long it will take.

Marla said...

I'm not sure either, and that's what bothered me. Her adoption story did not sound plausible (you don't get "grandfathered in" to the China program) and NONE of her pictures were her own. I found the pictures of the Christmas tree she claimed was hers on Google after about 30 seconds of searching. The whole thing is just sad. Plus, another thing that really got me was how in her profile she proclaimed to be a God-centered Christian, but yet chose to describe her MIL with the name "Mama Satan" and her other in-laws as the spawn of Satan. YIKES!!

Kim said...

Okay... I guess I am off to start some laundry and vac... not much to do since I have been home..
Tues. is back to reality..
YUCK..
And I will be playing with the twins..they are sooo funny..
I am sooo ready for a baby..
Have a Great Day Kimberley and Marla..
Kimberley let me know if you want help on the swap.. HUGS to you both..

redmaryjanes said...

I think you will get through next year too Kim. I think as people find other ways, the wait will shorten.

Marla said...

You have a great weekend, Kim! I probably need to tackle some laundry too, as I've ignored that particular chore for the past several days.

Kim said...

I only have about 2 loads.. usually about 10-12..
LOL..
we might go see Marley and Me .. KyLee's friend has to take the twins everywhere or she can't go.. really sad..John says we will adopt these kids...LOL

redmaryjanes said...

Ok ladies, it is after noon, so I am going to sign off too. But it was great to talk to you!

Eli wants to go and play outside.

Have a great day Kim and Marla!

Kim said...

BYE..
Hugs to you both..
Glad I got to talk to you both..

Marla said...

Bye ladies!!
