Sorry I am so late everyone, we had to take the boys and my father to the airport here in KC this morning so they could catch their flight to Colorado!
THE CHAT ROOM IS NOW CLOSED...HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!
My Grandma is doing ok. We had dinner at her house last night. She's still tired, but she says she is getting stronger every day. She's done with her last chemo treatment.
no, once I got back from retrieving the 2nd car, I started surfing the blogs and the news and YouTube. It's a rare Sat with nothing planned, so stayed up.
Lea is part of a group that races Chinese Dragon Boats. It's really cool. They look like crew boats, but they are painted and have big dragon heads on them.
There might be a light turn out today since it started late. Let me know how late you are interested in hanging out, If it remains just the two of us, I won't keep you too long. It is nice chatting though!
Hi Nancy! So sorry your boy didn"t make the cut for soccer this year. That had to hurt. I'm sure he'll find something to be involved in that he'll absolutely love.
Are there any job prospects for you this school year?
He is involved in Marching Band still, and trust me, that keeps him plenty busy. Plus, most his friends are in band, so I think that helps.
School has already started here, so the chances are slim. I have an interview for a position in KY on Monday. I really need this position for my own sanity sake.
Wow, our kids don't go back until after Labor Day. But I'll be that you all start summer break before we do. What kind of job are you interviewing for? teaching?
I have been so upset by all the extra hoops our agency now wants us to go through to look at a special needs list, that I haven't done any of it. A year ago they were begging us to switch. Now that we are considering it, they have millions of questions and new formalities.
Our agency is now allowing us to apply for SN babies, so they are looking at the shared list for us and we are looking around at lists that some of the other agencies post to see if we see anything.
It is a teaching position working with 3-5 year old at risk kiddos. I did this for four years when I lived in Illinois. I have a fear my experience will cost me again, as noone wants to have to pay out on the scale that high.
We didn't have to do much. We had to fill out a questionaire of what needs we would consider and write a letter pointing out why were interested in SN, and give some info about our pediatrician and the medical facilities in our area.
Well Nancy, I am hoping that they will value your experience since these little ones are at risk and would be better off in the hands of someone who will better able understand them. I hope you get the job.
What are everyone's plans for the weekend? We have band camp, football practice and soccer practice today for the boys. Tomorrow we are going to Holiday World after church.
Nancy, have you seen the Chinese Children SN site? The needs are a little more severe, but it is an open list to all. www.chinesechildren.org select Waiting Child program on the left, the Child Profiles, then enter password Xiwang, then click Submit. you have to use Submit, not enter, or it won't go.
We are at my Aunt's house in Kansas City. We just dropped off my 2 older boys at the airport, they are going to Colorado with my Dad. This afternoon I am going to a wine tasting, restaurant event for the American Heart Association. I am working at a booth with my Aunt. I'm not really sure what we are doing the rest of the day.
Nancy, no plans until church tonight. Tomorrow shuttle at church then go make greeting cards. Monday, hope to meet with Ruth. Thet just got their referral of an 10.5 month old little girl!!
We'll have to see. I'm supposed to be pouring the wine, so I don't know if I'll get to do much tasting. But I guess we'll be able to take breaks and sample some of the food. The finest restaurants are supposed to be there. I tell you, I'm really packing in the food on this vaca.
I saw My Grandma last night and she looks pretty good. You can tell that she is tired. She says that she doesn't care that her hair is gone, it's been refreshing this summer and it's less to mess with. She finished up her last chemo treatment about 2 weeks ago. And you can see that her hair has started grow back. Our challenge is knowing what her next treatment should be. Her tumor shrunk over 50% during the treatment. Now the doctor announced that there was a second growth that he hadn't told us about and he has no plans for any further treatment until Oct. We feel that he should keeping fighting the cancer and if waits until Oct. it will grow right back. But we're not doctors, so we don't know what to do.
The bathroom renovations are done...done...DONE! They finished on Thursday. I'll have to post pics on the weekend at some point when I have some free time. :)
My Grandma is very strong. We're planning on spending a lot of time with her this week. She has a very positive attitude and keeps telling us that she is going to beat this. So we are believing with her.
I bet its nice to have a new bathroom Rhonda. We have been having fun at the beach since it has been quite warm here. I have really enjoyed using my new camera. Still a lot to learn about it.
Micah's Mom, I'm glad to hear that his mouth is healing up well. He ate just fine at the restaurant. He is just so darling. Eli kept asking to go and see him. He really had a great time.
Well Ladies, I am going to bow out and try to get some things done before having to run around like a mad rabbit today. Have a great weekend. Thing good thoughts for me on Monday morning.
Kimberley, yes, I drink tea. Love Chai. Like coffee too, but it doesn't like me. It's the bean I am alergic too. Once it's brewed, it doesn't effect me to smell it, but if I breath in the smell of unground beans, it affects me. God forbid I am in an enclosed area where they grind alot of beans. the bean dust gets into the air and I have to get out! I don't spend a lot of time in coffee shops. I have gone in to order a tea before, and if the air is too thick, I wait outside the store until it is ready.
Yes, I took a few days off this week, but I still try to run almost every day. It has been cooler here in the mornings, so I started running outside. With the boys back at school, it is warming up by time I get everyone off, so I'm not sure if I will be able to continue to run outside then.
Good morning from Arizona! I never get to stop by on chat mornings becaue I usually teach on Saturday's. Just stopping by to say hi! Your chat group is a nice way to wake up. :) I love your music. Allison Krause is one of my favorite.
I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing, morning.
Good morning ladies!!! I am just cleaning ugh!!!!! RMJ how are you? I am sorry I have had so much internet trouble lately but I have been praying for your sweet family.!!!
Believe me, I wanted, and tried, to be a coffee drinker. Just couldn't handle the diff breathing and the nausea and the cold, clammies that came about each time I tried. I tried it black, with sugar, with milk, even as a nocha, figuring all the other stuff would cut down the amount of coffee bean acid. nothing works, so I avoid it.
OH, before I go. Just thought I would let you know that we have receive our "first" project of the school year. We have to design something to melt an ice cube using only solar energy. However, no mirrors or glass are allowed. JOY!!!
OMG I did get it and I am trying to get a picture of it on the blog I can not get to my dashboard for some reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not wai tto see her in it next summer!!:) Thank you so much!!!
I’m so sad I missed chat this morning but I had to drop you a little line to let you know I am still thinking of you. Enjoy your special time with your family. I hope this visit will bring hope & happiness back into your heart!

I am an everyday woman. I am married to my soulmate. I have three sons ages 16,13 & 4. Adoption was never something that I had planned to do, but through an interesting path, God has led me and my husband to pursue the adoption of our daughter Sophia from China. It has changed me in so many ways. I cannot wait to look in the mirror and see the woman I will be when this journey is over.

hi Kimberley. I am actually the 1st one here?
Yes, I just got on. I am really late.
Hope your guys have agreat time in CO. Hows your Grandma?
My two oldest boys are going on a Colorado trip with my Dad, so we had to take them all to the airport this morning.
Thats okay. so am I. :)
My Grandma is doing ok. We had dinner at her house last night. She's still tired, but she says she is getting stronger every day. She's done with her last chemo treatment.
So, how are you doing?
I am okay. Finally got the wireless working so am still in bed! love it!
That is fabulous! Blogging from bed.
Am so sorry you were having a hard time the last week.
Well, your sister and I got the ok to start planning an adoption support group at our church, so that is pretty exciting.
Thank you. Really, it was awful. We are feeling much better about everything now, but it is really hard to make a decision about a child.
I feel so lazy!! But, hey it makes sure I am here. Stayed up way too late.
Did you work last night?
Congrats on the support group! I know there at least three adoptive families at ABC and I only get there every other year or so.
You guys will do a gret job!
Hi,
Just popping in for a minute but wanted to say hello to all.
and, also, Kimberley, hope you are doing better and your little break helps you put distance between you and the nasty time you have had of it.
Have a good day all.
Lea

Good Morning Lea!
Are you still dragon boat racing?
no, once I got back from retrieving the 2nd car, I started surfing the blogs and the news and YouTube. It's a rare Sat with nothing planned, so stayed up.
yes I am. I am hooked!
Good morning Lea
good morning!
gotta run but enjoy your day!
XO
Okay, I've missed some chats... what IS dragon boat racing>
Lea is part of a group that races Chinese Dragon Boats. It's really cool. They look like crew boats, but they are painted and have big dragon heads on them.
Sounds like fun. Where do they live?
She lives in Toronto, but I have heard of groups in the US.
There might be a light turn out today since it started late. Let me know how late you are interested in hanging out, If it remains just the two of us, I won't keep you too long. It is nice chatting though!
How was Ella when you saw her?
There have been some children added to the list I sent you. One new girl but her need may be too severe. Poor munchkins.
Do you ever check Rainbow Kids?
Good Morning Lea, Kimberley and Karen
Hi there Nancy!
How are you?
Karen,
I haven't been able to see Ella yet. When Kelly and I met last Sunday, she didn't have the girls. I am really looking forward to seeing her though.
Finally coming back to the living. I have been really sick this week.
Hi Nancy! So sorry your boy didn"t make the cut for soccer this year. That had to hurt. I'm sure he'll find something to be involved in that he'll absolutely love.
Are there any job prospects for you this school year?
I am going to lay low this week.
I do feel like we are getting close to our daughter, this is just something we have to do to get there.
Am glad you are feeling well enough to join us, Nancy.
I'm sorry to hear that you've been sick Nancy.
It always stinks to be sick in the summer.
He is involved in Marching Band still, and trust me, that keeps him plenty busy. Plus, most his friends are in band, so I think that helps.

Kimberley..
what are you doing now to 'find' your daughter?
will be praying you will get it. I so want a different job, but am thankful I have one at all.
Wow, our kids don't go back until after Labor Day.
But I'll be that you all start summer break before we do.
What kind of job are you interviewing for? teaching?

Hey Karen!
Thanks for those pictures, I think they turned out great.
How is Micah?
Well Nancy,

Hi Other Karen.
Nancy, no plans until church tonight. Tomorrow shuttle at church then go make greeting cards. Monday, hope to meet with Ruth. Thet just got their referral of an 10.5 month old little girl!!
LOL, if I went to a wine tasting event, I might be tempted to nap for the rest of the afternoon!
I saw Ruth's little babe. She is so cute!
NO, I had never heard of that. I will have to check it out.
Kimberley how is your grandma doing?
We'll have to see. I'm supposed to be pouring the wine, so I don't know if I'll get to do much tasting. But I guess we'll be able to take breaks and sample some of the food. The finest restaurants are supposed to be there.

Morning!
Good morning from San Diego.
G'Morning, Rhonda

Hey there Rhonda,
How's the house coming along?
Morning, Laura
Hi Laura,
How you doing?
Your summer photos of the kids have been really nice.
The bathroom renovations are done...done...DONE! They finished on Thursday. I'll have to post pics on the weekend at some point when I have some free time. :)
Your poor Grandma she sounds like such a strong lady.
That sounds great Rhonda. Sometimes I can see what's going on when I log into gmail and see your status.
Yeah, I've been updating through there. I'm just a titch excited about it...it looks SO good.
My Grandma is very strong. We're planning on spending a lot of time with her this week. She has a very positive attitude and keeps telling us that she is going to beat this. So we are believing with her.
Hey, since I am alergic to coffee, should I even be at this coffee chat?
I bet its nice to have a new bathroom Rhonda. We have been having fun at the beach since it has been quite warm here. I have really enjoyed using my new camera. Still a lot to learn about it.
Then I'll be looking for some pics of your cool bathroom Rhonda.
Both of our bathrooms need some work. Something just always seems to come along and take all of our money : )
Karen,
You can hang out anywhere I do. Do you drink tea?
I will keep praying for your Grandma. Glad that you are able to spend some time with her this week.
Well...I don't drink coffee and I'm still here.
Micah's Mom,
I'm glad to hear that his mouth is healing up well. He ate just fine at the restaurant. He is just so darling. Eli kept asking to go and see him. He really had a great time.
I'll drink your coffee!
Thank you Laura, please keep praying. I think that is why she is doing so well and her spirits are so high.
Kimberley, Micah just loved Eli! He still talks about him and loves to look at the pictures. He should be cleared to eat everything he wants soon.
Wow allergic to coffee. :( We need to work on our bathrooms as well. The paint is starting to peal on the main bathroom.
Are you still running Nancy?
Well Ladies,
I am going to bow out and try to get some things done before having to run around like a mad rabbit today.
Have a great weekend.
Thing good thoughts for me on Monday morning.
Karen, you can have it!
Kimberley, yes, I drink tea. Love Chai. Like coffee too, but it doesn't like me. It's the bean I am alergic too. I will think of you on Monday Nancy. Good Luck Girl! Have a great weekend.
Yes, I took a few days off this week, but I still try to run almost every day. It has been cooler here in the mornings, so I started running outside.

Good morning ladies!!! I am just cleaning ugh!!!!! RMJ how are you? I am sorry I have had so much internet trouble lately but I have been praying for your sweet family.!!!
I love chai tea too Karen. I am addicted to coffee though. I love the taste with a healthy dose of creamer and I love the smell too!
Bye Nancy, Good luck Monday.
Good Morning Mardi! Great to see you!
I can't imagine being allergic to coffee!
Good Morning Crystal. How are you guys? Did you get Savannah's jungle print dress?
I love chai tea as well. So yummy. Good morning Crystal. How are the kids liking school?
Believe me, I wanted, and tried, to be a coffee drinker. Just couldn't handle the diff breathing and the nausea and the cold, clammies that came about each time I tried. I tried it black, with sugar, with milk, even as a nocha, figuring all the other stuff would cut down the amount of coffee bean acid. nothing works, so I avoid it.
Nice to see you too! ;)
I'm off to take Bailey for her walk. :) Thanks for being such a great bloggy friend. Have a great weekend!
ooops, mocha, not nocha.
I wouldn't drink anything that made me sick either. Besides, Chai is just as good.
OH, before I go.
Just thought I would let you know that we have receive our "first" project of the school year. We have to design something to melt an ice cube using only solar energy. However, no mirrors or glass are allowed.
JOY!!!
wow, it didn't take long to reach 100 comments
OMG I did get it and I am trying to get a picture of it on the blog I can not get to my dashboard for some reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not wai tto see her in it next summer!!:) Thank you so much!!!
Laura the kids are really liking school!!
Nancy, use something metal that conducts heat.... I have an idea, but that wouldn't be fair!
Oh no all ready a school project. Thats great Crystal that they like school. We still have one more week out here before we start school again.
Man, something to melt glass that's not a mirror. How about a prism of some sort?
where'd y'all go?
Crystal,
It's too big? Oh, I was hoping she could wear a 2t.
direct heat + conducting material like metal + ice = melted ice.
salt works too
I know it got quite all of a sudden.
RMJ it is perfect but she is truly a 12 mos right now she is about 18.5 pounds but definitely getting bigger everyday!!
She is already too big for her brooches!!!
Awe Savannah is so tiny. What a cutie she is.
she is so cute and I see that you are getting comfortable with doing her hair too Crystal.
She is darling.
Karen,
Where is your sister?
will probably get going here soon. Thanks for the conversations.
Kimberley, I know your daughter will find you and you will love her.

Tell Mav hello from me.
