Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group. It's pretty quiet from what I can tell in blogland. We still have some friends out of the country to bring home their chidlren, so let's continue to support them. Paula from 'The Baby Journals' is giving away a Starbucks card...you'd better believe I signed up for that! Amanda has been receiving some packages from the Starfish Book Drive, so thank you to everyone who sending a book and some supplies.
AND.... I AM LAUNCHING THE SEVENTH DIAMOND CHILDREN'S CLOTHING SWAP.
What do you think?
1) Go through your child's closet and make a list of the things that they have outgrown that you would be willing to swap, the sizes they are and the brands you have. For Eli I have all size 4T winter clothing: 3 sweaters, 6 shirts, 1 sweatshirt, 2 pairs of jeans, 7 pairs of pajamas. The brands I have are wonderkids, Gap, Old Navy, UR H, Now & Zen, Harry & Me, Land's End, Carter's & Cherokee. I also have a size 3T Columbia coat.
2) Identify the size and types of clothing you would like to receive. I would like to receive girls clothes in sizes 18 month to 3T. Winter preferably.
3) Send me an e-mail with this information at timnkim@gmail.com
If I receive an e-mail from a Mom who is looking for what you have to send and I have someone who is looking to give away what you need, I will match you up. I will do my best to match Moms with other Moms who like the same brands and I will try to match you up with an even number of items. When you are matched, I will send you the address of the Mom you are going to ship your outgrown clothing to. You have one week to send your box.
Now, this is an at your own risk swap. I will do my best to match everyone well. Please send gently used clothes, no tears, no holes, no stains. Send clothing you would love to receive : )
*The chat room is now closed. Have a great weekend everyone!

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 282 of 282I love Playlist.com. Our school district blocks it out so I set up a blog just for my playlist because for they have not blocked blogs (since many of them use them with our students)...so that is my rebellious side getting to hear my favorite music at school!!! Cus they banned ipods too!!!
Wow Jodi,
Your blog looks beautiful!
Mom2gabby, I'm in North Redmond (just south of Woodinville), Hi neighbor!
You guys rock
Shelley, you're the first family I've ever heard of to get that new form. It sounds like the USCIS doesn't know what it wants, and the agencies and SWs are chasing their tails trying to figure it out. Congratulations to you, and to Eli, especially!
With my playlist.
I haven't changed it in a long time. It actually has most of my favorite songs on it. I listen to it a lot. So, when you come onto my blog, you can get any of the songs on it...it's just a matter of chance as to which one will play next.
Ok now, I need some of you ladies with children to sign up for the clothing swap. Give a box of clothes you don't need...get a box of clothes that you do.
RMJ- all I know is that out Homestudy agency is not. We had to have our Adoption Agency AAI(that is Hague accredited) "sign off" with a notorized letter that they would stand behind and validate our HS. Not sure what to say if your adoption agency is not....
RMJ- Rumor Queen said (and a social worker who is also an adoptive parent confirmed), that any non-compliant agency can continue to work on adoptions under the supervision of a Hague comliant agency. The agency we are using in SC (just for our Home Study update) is not Hague approved but since our main agency is Haugue approved. The SC agency works under the license of our main agency in VA.
Yes Kim I was. Thank you for helping me out there.
So Amy would love to hear more about your fundraiser for Amanda. I have collected stuff for her. I have a friend that is interested in sending stuff too.
Okay this connection is slow this Am. Or maybe it is just me. I 've been staying up late with hubby gone.
Ours is, but I know that there are quite a few families whose agencies are not. I am worried for them.
So what are everyone's plans for the day? Anything special lined up?
I see some of you have home improvement projects lined up, good for you! I need to paint two bedrooms, a bathroom and hallway at the cottage, but I just can't work up the enthusiasm to do it. Oh, and the teeny little laundry room, too.
Instead, I think I'll haul the kids around on the tubes and wait for DH to get here...
Hey Mav -- you here yet? Come on out so we can all say "hey!" Oh, and tell us about your daughter's wedding!
1) Starfish Fundraiser- many people are collecting for eher. If you would like to mail me some items before October, we have a team heading there and would save lots o money
2) a new friend (who was just on here) is fundraising for her China adoption by selling beauitul framed personalized poems
Wow Karen, we are parctically neighbors! We use to live in Woodinville. Had to move as it was to dark in all of tree's for me.
Thanks Kim! It is going to change again as Daleea is redesigning it as we speak! I can't wait to see what she has in mind.
Mav and I are going to the range and shoot at targets.
I'm hoping only he will shoot so I don't embarass myself.
I shoot well enough to qualify each year and retain the right to carry the gun, but I don't do well when others watch!!! Performance Anxiety
Thanks everyone for the great ideas and well wishes. I going out to get a gas card today ! I knew this group could help. :) The kids are looking for pancakes and hugs.
Bye !
Well Ladies (and any gentlemen I may have missed) I have to go...have a great week and I'll see you next week.
RMJ-- I will email you a list of stuff I want to swap.
Thanks!!!
Really Amy? That would be just wonderful. I wonder if I should send the clothes though as they are NB sizes.
Kim count me in on the clothesline swap! Just have to go through the bins and figure out stuff.
K1- are you L/E?? My husband is a retired Deputy Sheriff.
Have a great week Shelly and Patti!
THANK YOU CLOTHES SWAP LADIES! I'M HOPING IT WILL BE GREAT.
Amanda needs NB sizes at Starfish. She has 2 new babies who are very small, so the NB would be wonderful.
Guten Tag
There you are Mav!
Okay that is weird. I posted 2 other posts and they are gone!
Amy I would love to see your blog.
Kim count me in for the clothes line swap!
Nice to meet everyone. Got to run and get ready for church.
Jody
Noahandmaddysmom, Yes. Seattle PD
She must need newborn, she specifically asked us for preemie diapers
Have a great weekend Jody!
Jody, which church?
Yes, she has two very small babes right now and when she brings in new babies, they usually are very small. NB would be wonderful.
Hey Hon. We've been waiting for you.
Hey Mav -- around here we say Ni Hao!
Hon?
Hmmm.....
: )
Amy,
Do you ever come up North?
Monroe SDA church.
Bye! Everyone have a great weekend!
:) jody
the farthest we have gone is Williamsburg, Va but would love an excuse to go somewhere else
For anyone interested in helping Starfish with NB clothes, Target is clearing out all of it's summer things at 75% off...
Oooh, I love Target.
I am going to do the Starfish Supply Raiser in February.
But it sounds like we could get some stuff to Amy and she could get it there maybe in October.
Which would be wonderful.
Alrighty then, I hate to go, but things are really hopping around here. There are at least 10 kids in the front yard around the trampoline and they're making a LOT of noise...
Gotta run -- everyone have a wonderful day!
Karen, hold your head high and shoot straight....!
Have a great week Kelly!
Bye, all, you too Kel
Ok, there was a weird song on my playlist. It said go go's vacation, but that isn't what was playing.
You are heading out too Karen?
It would save sooo much money on shipping
Yes it would.
I tell you, I was really taken back when I got the first bill for the supplyraiser.
But if you know someone who works for Northwest Airlines or one of the shipping companies like UPS, you can get a HUGE discount.
Hi all! I just wanted to drop in and say good morning before we head off to pick up my boy from camp.
Hope everyone is good...
The last batch I sent to a family in New York who Amy knew. He works for Northwest and he used his discount to ship it to Amanda. I sent him the money we raised and he got it shipped for about half of what I could do it for on my own.
Hi there Kayce. How are you girl?
No, not at the moment, although I will have to hit the shower before too much longer.
Mav, what time do you estimate you'll be here?
Oh, did I write Hon earlier? It MUST have been a typo! :)
I didnt know that.
OH and by the way, we are having a question/answer session over on my personal blog.!!!!
Gotta go in a few minutes but I did get my FF pics up!
Hi Kim,
I'm good. A wee bit excited to pick up Jacob from camp, it's been too long. How are you?
Love you Karen!
I think my hubs and Mav would get along well. My hubs is a big hunter and loves to go to the range.
We are good Kayce!
I miss my kids when they are at camp too. I'm sure he had a fantastic time though. My boys are always worn out when they come home, but they can't wait to go back next year.
Guys hubby just called for a lunch request..Gotta go.
See yall in blog/email land this week
Have a great week Amy. The pics looks great. I wish I had a First Fridays group to go to.
Okay...gotta run. Have a wonderful weekend! And yes, Kim I bet J will be VERY tired and of course dirty from his week away.
Hugs to all!
Have a good weekend Kayce. Tyler only changed his underwear once the entire week he was at camp this year!
Been looking back over the postings, soooo: Its different to wake up via a text tone on the cell; the wedding was great, we all had a wonderful time. I believe K1 has a better aim than is let on and I see its raining here near Snohomish . . .
Mav,
I hope you guys have a great time at the range.
So, are in the Army?
Morning all, just doing my usual house cleaning Saturday morning ritual and thought I'd see what's going on.
Sweet idea with the out grown clothing.
Hey Deb!
How are you?
I got kicked off and it took forever to get back on!
I aim great.... it's squeezing the trigger that I have a problem with. It changes the trajectory of the bullet so it doesn't hit where I aim.
Yeah, a lot of people are having trouble with blogger today.
I am well and yourself?
What are you planing for the rest of your day?
I'ts raining here so I'll be mainly doung indoor stuff.
RMJ, not at the present. Was released from active duty post 20 years in to that 'fun' list refered to as "retained". So far so good, no call back yet just the are you still living at the same address cards every few years.
Mav,
I think that might be a safe status to be in right now.
My brother in law is a Sergeant in the air force and he's in Korea right now. He works in Ammo.
But, RMJ, make no mistake.... Once Army, ALWAYS Army!
Oh yes... I know. Military brat myself.
My Dad's an Air Force retired Lt. Colonel.
I think this is the most Mav has ever "spoken" during a session!!
It's nice!
Well, it just took him a little while to get comfortable with all of these ladies ; )
Almost 7 months! Well, maybe only 6. I don't think he knew about the chat the first few weeks.
Yeah, but it's kind of your place you know.
It's like him going out with you and a group of your girlfriends.
Have you met all his friends yet?
nope
In due time.
So, have you recovered from the jetlag?
Yep, that wasn't much of a problem since I slept on the plane ride home.
Looks like just about everyone has gone. Why don't you and the kids drive up to Kel's cottage and surprise her? She'd get a hoot out of it. I can send you directions (I think). I can drive it, just don't remember all the street names. Basically, just head for Frankfurt and turn right on the second street that has the same name, and then turn left. It's about the fourth cottage down on the right.
Hows that?
(there is one street that branches off the highway, kind of parallels it, and then comes back and rejoins the highway. Same name at both ends. That's why I say take the second one.)
I wish we could, but we have a lot of domestic housework going on here today.
I'll shut the chat down in a few minutes if no one else comes on.
You don't have to stay girl, go on out and have fun with Mav.
I will go hit the shower. He isn't here yet, and didn't answer the ETA question. Would like to be out of the shower before he arrives!
You have a great day!
You too Karen!
Believe that would by my que to hit the shower. Wot'say I buy breakfat and you drive to the range? ETA in 60?
see you then
Ok, it looks like everyone has left for the day so I'm closing the chat room.
Have a great weekend everyone!
