My title seems to be the theme of my week. We are having a lot of rainy and windy weather here in Michigan. Just when it looks like it's going to clear up, we get hit again. Things are becoming soggy outside. I guess it will be ok this week as long as it clears up by the weekend.
Eli is now ALWAYS wearing his underwear backwards. I buy him the little boy Hanes underwear with cartoon characters on the rear and he wants to see the characters. When I dress him, I put them on correctly, but each day when he comes home from daycare they are backwards. Then, this morning he told me he wanted them backwards, so I gave up on that small battle and backwards it is!
The big challenge is giving up his night time pull-ups. He no longer wears them at nap time and is usually dry in the morning when he wakes up. I'd rather not be buying them if I don't need to and I'm tired of pull-ups to be frank. But Eli's not going for it. Huge tears and carrying on last night. This is a storm I'm willing to weather though. I'll give in on backwards briefs, but the Pull Ups are going!

You are so funny....Sophia still wears pull ups.....she drinks so much, always has..... that when she wakes up in the morning she is soaked. Nap time is a 50-50 chance.
Hope we "dry out" soon.....everything is saoking wet. Is your dock under water? Ours is just barely above. Several neighbors docks are under....it is just crazy!!!!
Oh yes.....toads, turtles and worms are everywhere.....I AM GAGGING!!!!!!
LOL!!! I hear ya girl!
Hope you have some Sunny Days ahead! You want me to send you some of our 100 degree weather?! We stay in cuz it's TOO hot!!
So funny...
Annslee potty trained super early (22 months) so the night time pullups took a while. Finally I told her when this box was gone I was done (she was dry most mornings too) and it worked. I changed sheeets twice but it was worth it to be done! I finally have figured out when to stop drinks at night so I don't have to hear her up there going potty in the middle of the night. Not a big deal I guess but I feel better if she just stays in bed!! Like Stef said...my girl is a big drinker too but I just said no more after 6 pm and she cried and I closed my ears (and heart...b/c it stinks making them upset)
Just wondering ... is underwear comfortable backwards???? LOL
I have those waterproof pads on Ben's bed for just in case, though he rarely has accidents. Maybe if Eli knew there was a "back-up plan" he'd go for it. Maybe you could also get him some special character underwear just for night-time and let him wear them backwards! Good luck with that. I don't miss pull-ups and diapers, that's for sure.
YUCK!!!!
Rain is not my friend..We will have monsoons soon and it is awful...
I say if he is dry.. they can go bye-bye..
Love the wearing the underwear backwards..TOO CUTE..
Have a Great Week..Hope it dries up...
LOL! This post made me laugh!
Kiara (3 1/2) is a big drinker too...she is potty trained, stays dry during naptime, but at night? OH MY!!! Just how WET can that nighttime pull up get??!! So...I'm cutting her off the water after 7 & we'll see what happens...I just want to wait until I see a "dry" morning before she goes cold turkey.
Hope you all dry out soon!!
We haven't gotten but 1/8 inch of rain in the past 3 weeks, yet places around us have received terrible flooding.
Love the backwards underwear. With 3 boys, I can totally relate to the thought process.
It has been in the 50's for a month now and still raining. Thankfully we live in the Pacific Northwest and the ground is used to lots and lots of rain so no flooding here. I have another e-mail address that is soggymoose and I'm thinking I might want to switch. This is really unusual weather for us this time of year.
Oh I am so looking forward to all these parenting issues. I LOVE IT! Sorry though, I'm sure I am going to be there too someday. :-)
I love those little boy underoos. backwards is a new one, though!
Li Li is the queen of backwards underwear - but hey - at least she is doing it herself :D
Ugh! Rain! I hope that it is all gone by the time we get up there in at the end of the month :D I love coming up there and escaping the heat down here - but it won't be fun if there is rain - rain - rain!
Ladybug hugs,
;D
Way to go girl on choosing your battles. I kind of think Eli is on to something, prehaps y'all can design a new line of underpants following his of pictures in the front!!!
Hugs,
Krista
He must look so adorable in his backwards underwear!
That is HILARIOUS! It kind of makes sense, if you ask me. He just wants to see the characters! LOL!
Do you think he'd let you take a picture and post it? What fun...
The weather, though, not so much fun. At least it's pleasant when it's not raining -- it's freezing in the northwest and over 100* in the east...
Backwards underwear, Eli is creative and so funny! Guess there will be pull-ups and little boy underwear in my house soon. :)
Hope that you are not TOO wet underfoot~~~
Oh the backwards underwear...brings back memories. My Justin (23) used to wear his Thundercat's underwear backwards so he could see the picture LOL so cute!
Livi still wears pull-ups and she is 5. I don't think they will be going anytime soon. Livi still wakes up wet. Addison on the other hand could probably give them up. She stays pretty dry.
OH how funny! Backwards underwear....hee-hee! Write that down....so as not to forget it....you could use it when he starts dating! hee-hee!
I hope our sun makes it's way up to MI.....we are scorched down here.....no rain....we can't even get our boat in...our ramp is still not under water...both docks are "dry docked"! Ughh!!!
Chuck finally just put the Seadoo on the trailer and took off to the lake bed and backed it down in the mud....he and Chelsi were determined to ride Sunday!
Love and Hugs!!
That is cute about the backward underpants. I can totally see his point. It makes sense. But yea, the pullups are a mommy decision.
It is odd that the companies put the pictures on the back. Write to them and ask why. Eli would love that you are going to bat for him!!
They sell plastic sheets you can put under sheets. They are for transitions such as this and they aren't all crackley anymore. They are more of a soft vinyl. Better safe then sorry.
