Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group...

Good Morning Everyone and Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group!

CRYSTAL AND SAVANNAH HOPE ARE HOME!

Please say a prayer for the last 4 Starfish boxes. They are being held in customs. Amanda was called and questioned as to whether they are for business or personal. She tried to explain that they are donations for her foster home. We don't know if they will accept that or not. We are waiting to hear if they are being let through.

I am starting a new public blog to support International Adoption. I am looking for people who are IA families at any stage of the process who would like to link their blogs to this new one and be available if families have questions. Let me know if that is something you would like to be a part of.

Thank you for supporting Daleea's Auction Site. It is an absolute riot...I am having so much fun bidding and keeping up with everyone. NEW ITEMS WERE ADDED LAST NIGHT, SO GO CHECK IT OUT!

And lastly, but not least...thank you for praying for and caring about my Grandmother. I cannot tell you how special that is to me.

THE CHATROOM IS NOW CLOSED...Have a great weekend!

redmaryjanes said...

Thanks Kim, I know. You are a great friend.
Did you read about the Starfish boxes? Customs is holding them.

redmaryjanes said...

Oh my word, you so far ahead of us chelley. It's almost 8am here in Michigan.

Kim said...

why are they holding them... that is not good..

Chelley said...

Customs sucks!

Morning everyone!

Lea

Kim said...

Savannah hope is soooo cute... I just hopped over and read about her appt..
I am sooo happy for them..

Chelley said...

G day Lea

Kim said...

Good Morning Lea...

redmaryjanes said...

I have been e-mailing with Julia (the woman who got us the discount and shipped them for us out of New Jersey) and Amanda. First they told us they were being held because customs thought they were boxes waiting for someone moving into the country, so they were requiring to see a visa.
Now we are being told they suspect they are for business and not personal. So, I am suspecting they want taxes.
Amanda said that FedEx called her, we have to put her phone number on the forms to ship them. She thinks she has it worked out, but we'll have to see.

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Lea, how are you this morning!!

redmaryjanes said...

Kim,
I love your flashing pictures...very cool!

Chelley said...

I was just drooling on the pics as well

too tricky!

Chelley said...

Everyone see $$$$ dont they!!

Kim said...

Thanks.. I really like them...
Diana's did it for me... she is having a sale for Mother's Day.. she has some really cute stuff.. both for the blogs and items...
Of course I don't know how to do this...LOL..
Hope they get the boxes over there - sounds like it was just a mis communication

redmaryjanes said...

It got quiet here for a minute and I went over to the auction and you were all there too!
I think it is such a hoot.
And Kim, you bid on whatever you want girl! You know I have to taunt you, it's part of the process. I'm a ruthless competitor : )

Chelley said...

who do I talk about donating stuff for it?

Kim said...

I really want that outfit..
And the sad thing is that the auction ends tonight on that outfit.. and I bid again.. but we are going to be at our first FCC-AZ Waiting Families event..
And I will not get to outbid whoever..
becuase I will bid till I win...LOL

Kim said...

Chelley.. just email her .. she has her email on the side.. it has been a lot of fun..
Waiting on some other things.. to go in for the last minute bids
LOL

redmaryjanes said...

Daleea created the auction. Her blog is Jewels of My Heart. But if you leave a comment on one of the auction items that you want to make a donation, I'm sure she will get in touch with you quickly. She's doing a great job running it.

Dannye said...

good morning all...

redmaryjanes said...

I think the last minute is going to be the clincher for a lot of the items. I wonder if Daleea should post an ending time as well as an ending date.

Chelley said...

DO you think that something Australian would be intresitng for someone???? Like a boomarang or something along those lines?

Kim said...

Good Morning Dannye..

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Dannye!! How are you?

Kim said...

I emailed her and she said 10.. but that is like 8 or so here.. and we will still be there...

Chelley said...

G day Dannye

Kim said...

I will be doing my SOCK shopping this weekend..
I wanted a certain pair.. but they don't come in the size I need...LOL.. Can't wait..

Dannye said...

doing well..waiting on my parents to come over...this morning is my nephews first communion...

you guys got your sock swap partner info right?

redmaryjanes said...

Yeah Chelley, there are so many different people who are going to the auction that I'm sure someone would love something from down under. Just make sure that you let Daleea know how much you will need to ship it since you are in Australia.

Dannye said...

hopefully nobody will "snag" the ladybug dress at the last minute...

so far it's just you and I that bid on it RMJ Kim...hehe...confusing with 2 Kims in here...

redmaryjanes said...

I did get my sock swap info. I just need to find some socks that are fabulous and different. Any ideas? Is there a place on-line? I love the socks you showed on your blog Dannye.

redmaryjanes said...

That is a cute dress Dannye. I tell you, I can't believe how many great items have been donated.

Dannye said...

I had bought my socks for the swap before doing the matching....and wouldn't you know it...I was matched with my friend who just got her referral for a 14 mo old (SN) daughter, so she's thinking she'll be about 18-20 mos., and my socks I bought are 6-12 mos...

so my question is, are their feet smaller too than the "norm" children's sizes? (hoping this is true, hehe)

Dannye said...

I went to Target and found the cutest socks, they look like Mary Janes, or ballet slippers, and they also have some that look like sneakers, the cutest things

redmaryjanes said...

Ok, I will go to Target then. How much are we supposed to spend?

Dannye said...

$10-$15 excluding shipping...

Kim said...

sorry..i wasn't watching.. i have to go.. will be late for work.having to much fun..LOL>>
Hugs girlies..

Dannye said...

I get to meet Amy Christopher tomorrow...she's getting back from her Disney cruise today and we are having a meet and greet with some other "adoption" friends...it's gonna be cool

Dannye said...

we are lucky we live in Orlando cuz lots of people vacation here and we get to meet them...it's amazing the red thread connection...

Chelley said...

Have wonderful day Kim!

Dannye said...

bye Kim..have a great day at work..

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Kim!

redmaryjanes said...

Amy is really an amazing person. She told us last week that she was going to get to meet you. That is so cool!

OH MY #6 said...

I am jealous of your Target. I have to go cross border, which a do every 6-8 weeks! We need Target up here.

redmaryjanes said...

So, Chelley..what's the weather like in Australia?
Have you ever seen any famous people who live there?

redmaryjanes said...

I do love Target. There is one accross from where I work.

Dannye said...

morning Lea...

Don and Be are going too Kim, don'tcha follow his blog too?

hopefully they will be bringing home Joanna Mei soon...I feel like that process is taking forever although in reality it probably hasn't been that long, but b/c we are close to them I feel like we are waiting for "our niece" to come home...

Mom 2 six said...

Good Morning everyone. I would love to link to the new IA blog.
I have a few moments until the kids start waking up.
I read about the boxes/customs. That is terrible.

Chelley said...

It was a GREAT day today cold but sunny!! Great morning to watch my son play australian rules football!!!

nope in the outback we dont get to see too many famoues people!! Pretty boring

OH MY #6 said...

Have a good day everyone! we are off to breakfast with Bill's sister. It is kinda foggy and nasty here today. But, warm, so I won't complain too much!

Lea

Chelley said...

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Jill!
How is the fundraiser going?

Yes, the boxes are being held in customs.

redmaryjanes said...

Have a wonderful weekend Lea~

Chelley said...

G DAY JilL!

Dannye said...

alright all, my parents are here, so we better get going...have a good one...and Kim don't you outbid me while I am gone...hehe!!

kisses...

redmaryjanes said...

I feel bad because FedEx is calling Amanda and she is still away waiting for Emily to recover from her surgery.

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great weekend Dannye!!

Mom 2 six said...

I hear the kids already. We are off to our local Heart-Walk for heart disease. Then I am going to do a little paper-chasing. It really is much easier the second time around. Pray everyone that we get PA this week. :)

Chelley said...

Hope all goes well Jill!!! and that youo chase as many papers as you can!

redmaryjanes said...

Wow, everyone's coming and going so quickly today!

redmaryjanes said...

So Jill, tell us your story. How did you find Eli? Did you and your SIL decide to adopt again together?

Chelley said...

heheh yup!

I must smell!! LOL

redmaryjanes said...

Look how behind I am since I rattle on and on.
Have a great weekend Jill!

redmaryjanes said...

What do you mean by outback Chelley? You are not by a major city?

Mom 2 six said...

It's Shelly on- Yep Jill and I are doing the fundraiser together. We have had a few bids. I didn't think that 3 weeks to bid was too long, but maybe it is ?
I will have to post a few reminders on the blog as we get closer to the end. Thanks for your help.

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning everyone! I quickly skimmed the posts, so I know a few people have come and gone.

I also hear noises coming from upstairs, so I may not be here long...

Chelley said...

Sydney is 15 hours drive

Adelaide is 5 hours

Melbourne is 13 hours

the next major shopping is 3 hours drive and it is SOOOO MUCH better for shopping than here!!

redmaryjanes said...

I think 3 weeks is fine. And pretty normal. People usually take that much time. You are raising funds for 2 children.

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Kelly!
Eli loved the post with Katie singing the Wiggles song.

Truly Blessed said...

This has been an exciting week for us -- we finally got our long awaited LOA (Margaret Miracle finally got hers -- she waited FOREVER!!) so it looks like we'll be traveling to our kiddos sometime in June!

Mom 2 six said...

Jill found Bethany (8 yo) on AAI's list. She came to show us Bethany and we saw Eli (5 yo) on the list- we were drawn to him, thought about himm for weeks, prayed, talked to friends, doctors and then realized he had already captured our hearts.

Mom 2 six said...

Congrats on the LOA !!
How long was it ?

redmaryjanes said...

WOOHOOO for the Loa Kelly! It seemed for a while there like everything was taking forever for everyone.

Chelley said...

I was so excited for you LOA Kelly!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Wow Shelly,
I think that is fantastic. It's amazing how it all works.
He is a cutie.

Chelley said...

There seemed to be a lot of LOA's this week!

Truly Blessed said...

That video cracks me up...I was sitting with my back pressed up against the TV cabinet and she kept moving closer to me as she was dancing...

She was trying to do all of the ballerina moves (gracefully lifting her foot off the ground, only she's not very graceful...yet). It was really just too cute!

When Katie watched it later with me, sitting on my lap, she "danced' and sang along with herself again -- always a beat or two faster than the music!

Nikki said...

Seems like I'm always late to the party...
good morning Kimberley! I think it is great what you are doing with your other blog - you are quite a woman!
I'll pray that those last boxes arrive safely and quickly...what a pain!
And, I have loved looking at all of the CUTE items up for bid - but I have to stay out of the bidding wars at this time. But I SO wanted Daleea's tutu! Oh my gosh!

Chelley said...

Jill Shelly heheh oh didnt see the name tag!! LOL getting sleepyy

Nancy said...

Good Morning ladies.

redmaryjanes said...

Katie had every move and hand gesture down perfectly. It was darling to watch and at the end Eli said 'Great job!'

Mom 2 six said...

Gotta run-literally to the Heart Walk. Have a wonderful weekend everyone !

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Nikki!

How is Lily this morning?

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Shelly!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Nancy!
How are you guys doing?
Did the house sell yet? I'm so behind.

Nancy said...

We are doing OK.
No, the house has not sold yet.

I had a really bad week at work, and am thankful I only have 2 days left.

Nikki said...

Well, actually, Lily is pretty sassy this morning...she isn't feeling all that well and was up quite a bit during the night. Then she woke up for good at 5am...so I'm feelin' a little sassy myself! (and I have to work in a bit too! Wish me luck!)

I also just went over to the auction again - that wall art is GORGEOUS! And the upsidaisy outfit is soooo cute - but not Lily's size.

Nancy said...

No projects (that I know of) to work on this weekend. I do need to get my middle son reading a book that is due Wed., however.

redmaryjanes said...

I'm sorry you had a bad week Nancy. At least it's the weekend : )

Chelley said...

Well I am off to bed!!! nice chating with you!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Truly Blessed said...

The stuff on the auction is so great...I wish more people knew about it. I did put a link and info on my blog, but everyone who reads it also reads this blog, so I'm sure I didn't cause a traffic jam at the site!

I really love to win some of it!

I wonder how badly Kim really wants that blue and brown outfit...maybe I should start a bidding war with her?

redmaryjanes said...

I hope Lily isn't coming down with the spring flu. I know it's starting to go around.
She is soooo cute, I love that girl.
Hope you have a good day at work. Man, getting up at 5am is rough. Eli was up at 6:15 and I was whining about it.

Nikki said...

OK, I have to finish getting ready for work...I'll continue to pray, Kimberley. Keep us posted on everything.
Ladies, enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Good night Chelley. Thank you for staying up late to chat with us. I hope you have a great week!!

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great week Nikki!!

redmaryjanes said...

I saw your great post for Daleea Kelly. I'm starting to see the link popping up some other blogs, and different people are starting to bid, so I am hoping it keeps its momentum up. So far, it's just been fantastic.
Oh man, I'm not saying a word about that outfit...mum here : )

Truly Blessed said...

I've been getting over the flu -- not fun (at least it has destroyed my appetite!)

redmaryjanes said...

I am sorry that you have the flu. I have heard that quite a few people have been getting sick this Spring. I had a terrible cough that lasted 2 months, but I think I'm almost over it.
Is K1 on her cruise?

Truly Blessed said...

Karen gets off the ship right about now. She even posted once from the cruise on her blog!

I'm sure she had a great time.

We've got a baseball game today, so that's what we'll be doing most of the late morning. Katie just reminded us that there is a "big digger" at the ball field, and she really wants to see it today!

redmaryjanes said...

I remember you said that she likes construction equipment.
We only have Tyler playing tennis right now and it's once a week on Thursday, so it's not too bad.
You were right about the Jungle driving people, they are very nice. Zach was there every day last week.

redmaryjanes said...

Boy, it sure did quiet down.

Truly Blessed said...

I can only imagine how confused Zach is about having the Jungle people take over for whomever taught him segment 1...

RaRa really feels his driving way is the ONLY way, so it's not an issue when the student starts with him from the get go, but to take over for someone else, that would be very interesting!

Did Zach tell you any stories?

Truly Blessed said...

It's quiet around here, as well.

Both T & K finished karate (yee ha!) last month, and right now T's in baseball and K is doing track at the HS. That's it. It's lovely to have everyone home nearly every night!

redmaryjanes said...

Zach didn't have anything negative to say. I must say...they really have that place decorated!

Patricia said...

Good Morning everyone! I just "got back" from the auction site...oh my goodness, what great stuff!! I just LOVE the new addition, custom wall art...beautiful!!

Sooooo many talented people out there!

Truly Blessed said...

Isn't that the funniest thing ever?

I rode with K in The Beast, RaRa was with us. He told us that he really sees the jungle animals on the road -- he doesn't see cars at all.

I'm thinking he smoked a little too many funny cigarettes in his earlier years!

redmaryjanes said...

Hey Patricia!! How are you? How is NYC. How close are you guys to downtown?

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Patricia!

I have to say I love the description of your blog -- I smile every time I read the words, she 'can hail a NY cab with the best of them!'

Never having lived in the city, that seems so foreign and exotic to me!

Patricia said...

Ha! Thanks!! And it's true...she really CAN hail a cab...I don't know how because we never take them! :) She is just WAY TOO OBSERVANT! lol!

redmaryjanes said...

He told you he sees jungle animals??? Well now...that is a little interesting.
Zach had class M,W,F and drove on T,T,F

Truly Blessed said...

Since I've never been to New York, or New York City for that matter, (but I HAVE seen it on TV!), when you say you live in the city, what does that mean? In one of those cool old brownstones (like in "You've Got Mail") or in a high rise apartment (like in a billion other movies)...do you have a doorman?

Patricia said...

Hey Kimberely! We are just a train ride away from downtown...if the trains are running smoothly, it can take about 15 minutes to get downtown. But lately, there's so much construction going on that it's a bit unpredictable these days...still relatively quick though. So, when are you coming out here? lol!!

redmaryjanes said...

I can just see this little pip hailing a cab in NYC. She is such a cutie.

Patricia said...

I wish I lived in a brownstone!! lol! We live in an apartment building, what they call "pre-war" since it was built prior to WWII & has 24 floors. Actually, "You've Got Mail" was filmed right in my neighborhood, so, that IS where I live! :)

Truly Blessed said...

Katie has ridden in a cab --

in Guangzhou! It was terrifying!

redmaryjanes said...

I love NYC and I would love to take my children there. Where we live, everyone is the same. There are very few minorities. It is so limited. I want them to be somewhere where they are not the majority, where they can hear people speaking other languages and see more of what the world is really like.

Truly Blessed said...

OMW Patricia, that is TOO COOL!

Was that little bookstore just a set, or is that real?

It all looks so cool and hip and urban...WAY different than where we live, where you have to drive to get anywhere (grocery stores, restaurants, shopping centers, etc.)

Truly Blessed said...

Did either of you grow up walking to and from school?

I never have -- I've always taken a bus (until HS, when my BF drove and I rode with her).

My hubby walked to school and back home for lunch every day (in Ele. sch.) I cannot even imagine that!

Patricia said...

THe bookstore is really a "cheese shop" (!!) that they redid for the movie...it's really a cute little shop so I guess that's why they chose that particular location. Lots of movies get filmed here because of the many tree-lined streets & brownstones. Did you ever see the movie, "Little Manhattan"? That was also filmed in my neighborhood, in fact, right on our block!

And Kim...it's true, NYC is definitely the place for multi-cultural everything! It would be great if you could all visit someday...we'd love to take you all around! :)

Patricia said...

Both my husband & I grew up walking to & from school everyday...we still walk everywhere! As a matter of fact, growing up, my parents never owned a car! I always thought that was weird though, & couldn't wait to get my license! lol!

Gosh, I'd love to stay here & chat ladies, it's been a such a pleasure, but we've got an early outing & I have to get ready.

Have an AWESOME day everyone!! And good luck on your bidding wars!! ;)

Love ya!
Patricia/NYC

redmaryjanes said...

I love the museums. While I was there, I went to a different one every day, I was mesmerized.

and yes Kelley, I walked to and from school in elementary school.

Truly Blessed said...

I've never seen "Little Manhattan" (is it a good movie, if so, I'll put it on Netflix!).

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Patricia!

redmaryjanes said...

Today is our 5 year anniversary!

Truly Blessed said...

Well Happy Anniversary, Kimberley & Tim!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Thanks!
I don't know, what do you think about the chat? It's pretty slow today.

Truly Blessed said...

I'm going to get going in a minute or so, but wanted to tell you that tomorrow is LeeAnn (CougChick)'s birthday!!

Truly Blessed said...

Yes, it's very slow. Going to be even slower in a minute when I leave for T's baseball game!

What big plans do you have for your 5th anniversary celebration?

redmaryjanes said...

We may go out to Saugatuck. We don't have family here, and we couldn't find anyone to look after Eli tonight so we could go to dinner. We'll see. None of our plans really worked out for us.

redmaryjanes said...

We spent our wedding night at the Belvedere, so we were hoping to spend this weekend there, but we couldn't find anyone to keep Eli.

Truly Blessed said...

Oh man, that's too bad. If he knew us better we'd have kept him for you.

I have to run, Katie's asking to "Sit the Potty!"

Truly Blessed said...

Darn..she was talking about the baby in her dollhouse sitting on the potty (apparently baby is poopy)...{{sigh}}

Truly Blessed said...

If you do go to Saugatuck, have a wonderful time -- what a fun place!

See you tomorrow at church, I hope!

redmaryjanes said...

Ok, have a great day Kelly!
She'll be potty trained soon : )

April said...

Oh boy, as usually I am so late...too late. I guess I will go get caught up on what was said. Have a great day everyone.

Patricia said...

Here I am at 9pm just checking to see what I missed after I signed out earlier...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KIM & TIM!!!!

And I also forgot to mention earlier that I think your plans for your new venture of the "adoption" blog are FABULOUS!!!!
