My Aunt just called me and my Grandmother has been diagnosed with S*quamous C*ell C*arcinoma Stage 4. I know that this is very bad, but I don't know how bad and my Aunt was unable to ask my Grandmother's doctor because she was afraid for my Grandmother to hear what is in store. My Grandmother is 78 years old and has smoked for over 50 years. The cancer has spread throughout the lining of her lung, but not outside of the lung. They are beginning chemo on Friday but are doing no radiation. My Aunt believes they are only trying to give her additional time. She is going to set up a seperate meeting with the doctor.
But if someone has experience with this and can give me an idea of time, I would really appreciate it. I need to make plans for our family so we can be with her as much as possible. Please do not sugar coat, just tell me. My e-mail is timnkim@gmail.com and I would appreciate any information or opinions.
Thank you.

I'll ask DH to look at what you've posted, and will email you tonight.
I am so sorry. You know I'm here if you need me!
Hugs, I am so sorry you and your family are going through this difficult time.
Your all in our thoughts and prayers.
Just want you to know that your Grandmother and your family are in my prayers!
You are all in my prayers, too. I'm so sorry!
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I lost my grandmother this past year from lung cancer. I am so sorry.
Oh Kimberley...I am so sorry sweet friend! I will be lifting your grandmother in prayer and your family as well!
My Daddy had a Squamous Cell on his chest(superficial)...and the Dr removed it then had to go back and remove another area...to be sure the limits were clean of cancer cells. I don't know about it being in the lungs....though. Daddy had his about 6 years ago....and has made a full recovery.
Love you sweet friend!
Will be thinking of you and the family... take care
I'll be thinking of you and sending good thoughts.

Kimberely, I'm so sorry. When my dad had cancer the internet had a wealth of information about his type.
I'm so sorry sweetie........hugs.
Praying for you, your grandmother and the entire family.
My Dad had cancer and the internet was a wonderful place to get information and learn more than we could have found by asking the professionals. Our prayers are with you.

Kim, I can't tell you how sorry I am!!! This is exactly what my mother had. She was 72. I have so much I want to share with you. I just emailed you. My biggest piece of advice...listen to what the internet says. The internet was much more accurate than what the doctors led us to believe. BIG HUG to you my friend!!! I am here for you as I'm sure are all the other wonderful moms!
I'm so sorry! What terrible news. Your family, especially your grandma are in my thoughts.
I am so, so very sorry Kimberly... I know your heart is breaking. You, your family and your precious Grandmother are in my prayers...
God's Peace...

Daleea

I'm so sorry to read this...please know that our prayers continue for your Grandmother & for all of you.
HUGS going your way...
I am so sorry Kimberley. I have a friend who is in his second remission from it, but I'm not sure what stage he was in. I will try to find out. I know they did radiation treatments both times and it gave him a little over a year in remission the first time and now he just went into remission for the second time.
We will continue to pray and that the Lord will comfort your whole family.
Sorry to hear about this. I do hope you get to spend some time with her yet. This is not my area of expertise...I wish I had some advice to offer.
Kimberley - I've been thinking about you... Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers
Hugs to you...
