Good Morning! Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group.

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat! It's good to be here this morning since I have missed the last two Saturdays. I want to thank everyone for all of the love and support since my Grandmother's illness. I did receive some troubling news late last night. My Grandmother's biopsy results came in and the growth in her lung is lung cancer. She is going to an oncologist next Friday to discuss treatment options. We as a family are thinking positively and are hoping and praying for a full recovery.

Daleea has designed this beautiful blog to support the Starfish fundraiser effort. She is planning an on-line auction. She is making items which will be displayed on the blog and people can leave their bids in the comments. The highest bidder wins. All proceeds are going to her Starfish child. If anyone would like to donate an item to the auction, please contact Daleea at 'Jewels of My Heart'. I am donating a Kimberley Dress! There is a link on my sidebar to the site. If anyone would like to place the link on their sidebar or do a post to promote the auction, that would be very much appreciated.

Robin at 'Red Thread Stitches' has a sizeable payment due next month to her adoption agency. She is sewing away trying to raise the funds. She could really use for some new orders to come in. She has so many new designs right now. If you are looking for a secret buddy gift or have any special events coming up for a child and are looking for a gift or a beautiful outfit, please stop by Robin's site. There is a link on my sidebar. And if you would like to do a post for her at this time, it would be very appreciated. She is also doing a raffle for an IPod Shuffle.

It would be wonderful if we could have some more blogs sign up to support the Starfish Supplyraiser. No one blog is responsible for raising the entire amount for any child. This is a cumulative effort, so the more blogs that participate, the more of an impact we can make. I have seen great ideas coming in to raise funds. If you are interested in sponsoring a child on your blog, please let me know which one and I will get you the sidebar graphic that directly links you to the Starfish donation site. The money does not come to me. It goes directly into Amanda's surgery fund.

THE CHAT ROOM IN NOW CLOSED...HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

Smooch! ;)

Good Morning...I have been waiting for you this morning while I had 10 minutes of peace before the boys got up.

OH MY #6 said...

Good morning, will check back later!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there everyone!
I was putting the finishing touches on the post.

Nancy said...

My peace has ended. All three boys are up and ready to go.

redmaryjanes said...

Nancy,
I got your card yesterday. Thank you so much, it's just beautiful and I really appreciate it.

Nancy said...

Do you know what you get when you mix earthquakes, an approaching full moon, and a bunch of 4th graders?

redmaryjanes said...

No what?
And we felt that earthquake all of the way up here in Michigan. Our bed shook.

Nancy said...

A day you wish you weren't dieting because all you can think is how much damage a couple drinks could do...

redmaryjanes said...

I'll bet.
Was there any damage where you were? That was just bizarre. I didn't know we could have earthquakes here.

Nancy said...

My children are now all over the newspaper checking out what it said about the earthquakes.

Nancy said...

There was no damage around us. I heard that Louisville, KY got some bricks knocked off older building.

redmaryjanes said...

I just couldn't believe it. I woke up and our bed was shaking and I really didn't know what was going on. I asked Tim if he was doing it and we half asleep.

Good mornings, worked last night so we will see how long I last

Good morning Nancy & Kimberley! It looks like I missed Steffie & Lea.

Earthquake tremors in Michigan, who'd a thunk it?

Jewels of My Heart said...

Good morning sunshine!
I am so sorry about your Grandmother. I will be praying for her and your family.
Thank you so much for the donation of the Kimberly dress I am so excited! And thank you for getting the word out about the auction.
Thank you for all you do.... We love and appreciate you.
I am quite sick so I am off.... but wanted to tell you thank you.
Love,
Daleea

Nancy said...

Our entire house shook. I am sure it was alot worse upstairs where the boys were sleeping. I have never seen them fly down the stairs that fast.
My youngest was afraid it was a tornado, and it almost sounded like it could be.

Truly Blessed said...

Good Morning Amy -- I thought you'd be on the "Mickey Ship" by now!

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Amy, Kelly and Daleea!!

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Daleea! You are so creative to come up with such great ideas to raise funds for Amanda's babies.

BTW, I love your new China site.

redmaryjanes said...

I'm making a pot of coffee. We're talking about the earthquake yesterday in the earling morning. Did you guys feel it?

Nancy said...

So, Kimberley, are you going to keep us in suspense?
What are your announcements?

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you Daleea, your auction is so beautiful. I have never seen an on-line auction, so I can't wait to see how it goes.
And thank you for your prayers for my Grandmother, they are very much appreciated.

Nancy said...

My youngest is asking for a big family breakfast. Not sure it's gonna happen. We have alot to do this morning, and my house is screaming to be cleaned.
For some reason, the cleaning nazi hasn't shown her face in WEEKS!!!!

Truly Blessed said...

My husband woke me up yesterday morning with a nudge and a "wake up, feel the bed moving?" It was moving, very gently...almost like we were back on the cruise and the constant motion of the engines was causing almost an imperceptible motion.

That was at about 5:30, so if the earthquake was at 4:30ish, it took the tremors an hour to reach us. Very interesting!

Unknown said...

We are leaving a week from today!

Funny thing..I got 3 emails from strangers telling me that our agency was trying to match 3 little boys with CL/CP

Did anyone get that email?

redmaryjanes said...

You guys are so funny. Everything on the post are my announcements.
I don't know why everyone thought I had something really big. We're just waiting to hear if we've made it through the review room. It should be in the next month or two. We are supposed to be able to see the next SN child list, but I don't think we will be able to request a child off of it as we are not through review. It will be several months before we have any BIG news.

Nancy said...

NO, it was 4:30am central time. Aren't you on eastern time? Very confusing down here where 5 miles separate the time zones.

Truly Blessed said...

I thought of you, Nancy, when we learned where the EQ was centered, and knew you were pretty close to it. So glad you're all safe, and your kids have some "fun" memories and stories to tell their grandkids someday!

redmaryjanes said...

I wish the cleaning nazi would come over here!

Nancy said...

How is Katie's nose? Is it starting to look alot worse yet?

Kim said...

Good Morning everyone.....Just catching up...
Glad you are here this morning Kimberley.. sorry to hear about the results.. but she will get through this.. your G'ma has WONDERFUL support..

Truly Blessed said...

Oh my, then we were feeling the same EQ you felt at the same time? That is incredible! I was thinking it was more like ripples on a pond.

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Kim! How are you?

Nancy said...

Last night my youngest was telling me how the earthquake was "FUN". I said, "oh yeah, so if it happens again tonight, you won't be in my bed?" His reply was simply, "maybe".

redmaryjanes said...

So, what are they saying about it? Do they think there will be more anytime soon? I have heard now that there is a fault through Illinois, Indiana and Ohio

Kim said...

I am just getting ready for work...
Got up a little bit earlier just so I could actually be on here for a little bit more then a minute...
My mother told me about the earthquake.. that you guys are talking about.. pretty weird..

Unknown said...

Its yucky weather in Atlanta, perfect to sleep in..Hows the weather where yall live?

Truly Blessed said...

Oh, sweet Katie has had a rough week.

She's battling a head cold, and the nose that just keeps on running. Then, add the trauma to it, and you've got a kid who is simply miserable. Her nose is a little swollen, but not very discolored.

She ripped the scab off during her sleep the night before last, so she woke up all bloody again. Fortunately, it was just blood from the scab, and not more from inside.

Last night, after she fell asleep, I put a band-aid covered with Aquaphor on it -- she would not let me do that to her when she was awake. Daddy is afraid her little injury will scar.

redmaryjanes said...

It's a little overcast here Amy, but I'm hoping for a nice day so we can be outside.
What agency are you with?

Nancy said...

The last EQ to his this area was 20+ years ago. From what I read this morning, they are so infrequent, unlike in the Rockies and California that they are harder to study.
They also said it travels so much further here because of the older age of the bedrock, whereas the West Coast has younger bedrock.

Gail said...

Good morning everyone, have been reading all the comments. Will stay for a little bit this AM as we have friend's from Grace's travel group coming for a visit this weekend.
Kimberley I'd love to sponsor a child from Starfish to raise funds. Let me know what you'd like me to do...how to do it, etc.

Unknown said...

these earthquakes scare me a bit. These natural events like tsunamis and stuff really scare me!

Glad everyone is ok!

redmaryjanes said...

I love Aquaphor. When Eli had his stitches, they recommended liquid vitamin E and Mederma. I bought both, but what worked best for the scar was actually Neosporin. I tried each remedy for a week and Neosporin was the best. He hade stitches, so there is a scar, but maybe you can keep Kate from getting one.

Nancy said...

We are looking at a high in the
50's and rain. Alot different from the 70's we saw a couple days this week.

Gail said...

Yes, happy everyone is okay, didn't feel the earthquake up here in southern Wisconsin...

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Kim!

Glad you're able to stay and chat for a few minutes before you have to leave for work.

One more week, Amy, you got your "fish hanger" all ready? ; )

Kim said...

Suppose to be high 80's here today...
It was really warm yesterday.. last week I had to turn on the A/C for a couple days..
Any big plans for anyone this weekend..
We are pretty much relaxing..I need to do some painting..but probably won't happen..LOL

Kim said...

Kelly~ are you guys going to the lake....I just LOVE your house on the lake.. it is sooo beautiful.

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Gail!

A cold front moved through during the night (yesterday was GORGEOUS here!), so it's quite chilly. That's okay, it's easier to do yard work when it's a little chilly -- and we have a LOT of yard work to do!!

Unknown said...

I am sooooo ready to go. We are actually leaving Thursday to visit other family before getting on the boat!!!

Nancy said...

My youngest is playing with ants we keep finding in the house. I had Orkin out a week and a half ago, but we still have ants.
If it ever works, and they get rid of them, he may be heartbroken. He loves to have them crawl on his feet and hands.
Oh, Yeah, he's a boy!!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Gail.
All of the children are on my sidebar. I think the description of their conditions is still on my blog, but if not, I will re-post it today.
All you do is post the link, when people click on it, it takes them directly to Amanda's donation site for Starfish.
Some people are planning special fundraising efforts like garage sales, car washes, Verna is donating here blog design proceeds, Daleaa is doing an on-line auction.
But you can do whatever you like. I think the more exposure we can get, the more successful it will be.
So, just let me know which little one you would like to post and Thank you!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,
I am so jealous! I need a relaxing vacation somewhere warm.

redmaryjanes said...

Kelly,
What's the weather supposed to be like here today?

Margaret M said...

Good morning everyone!! I can't stay long as I have an appointment to get beautified this morning....I am in such need of this cut and color. We felt the quake in Eastern Ky too. We moved here following Hurricane Katrina...I was looking for a home with no natural disaters. I jokingly asked dh this morning, so where are we moving now.

Truly Blessed said...

Kim, thanks for the compliment on our cottage -- we love it there. It's our own little piece of heaven.

Sadly, we're not going this weekend, we thought we had an all day track meet today, but on Thursday, my son's coaches got into an argument at Thursday's track meet, and one of the coaches cancelled our school's participation in today's meet. We found out about it yesterday at 5:00, too late to change all the other plans we'd made.

If you're ever in Northern Michigan (in the summer), you're invited to spend some time with us there!

Nancy said...

We have alot of running to do today. My oldest has to meet with the pastor today in preparation for his Confirmation next weekend. My hubby also has to get an oil change.
While doing all the running, I have about 12 loads of laundry to do to.

Unknown said...

RMJ,

Let us know what we can do for you and your family!

amy

Gail said...

Kimberley, I'll email you sometime later tomorrow when I have more time and let you which one I want to sponsor.

Margaret M said...

I was glad to hear that Katie is feeling better....poor little peanut

Kimberly, I'll post a starfish!

Kim said...

Kim~ can you send me the link to Ya Xing Kai... or if there is one little one that noone has got on their sidebar I will take them... and the link to the auction.. I will put them on mine after work today...

Unknown said...

Margaret M said...

My dh wants to know where the cabin is in upper Michigan. He grew up in Michigan! Sounds beautiful!

Kim said...

Kelly~ one day I will be coming for a visit.. there is so many of you wonderful ladies that live in Michigan...
Nikki keeps telling me to stop on by..LOL

Nancy said...

Kelly, I may have to take you up on visiting the lake house. I get antsy, and would love to have somewhere to get up and go to. What's an 8 hour drive?

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Margaret!

No natural disasters, huh? I'm thinking Maine (too far north for hurricanes or tornados, and I've never heard of an earthquake in Maine)...how would that work for you?

I'm so glad you got updated pictures of your sweet Graeme this week!!

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you Amy,
I don't think there is anything anyone can do. We're just praying and hoping for the best.
My Grandmother is a widow, she is 79 and lives alone. She weighs maybe 100 pounds.
The hardest part about all of this is that she keeps telling us she doesn't want anyone to come over at night to keep her company and she's acting like everything is fine.
But I just hope she's not up all night worried and afraid. She won't tell us that.
I know the biopsy was painful.
I just know it's going to a tough road physically and emotionally and that is the hardest thing for me right now.

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you Margaret for sponsoring a Starfish. Do you know which baby you would like to post?

Truly Blessed said...

Okay ladies, I'll be expecting you!

Our cottage is on the incomparable Crystal Lake in NW lower peninsula -- about 35 minutes SW of Traverse City, about 5 minutes from a town called Frankfort (which is a port city on Lake Michigan).

Kim said...

Kimberley~ anything we can do, just let us know...
I am sending you some BIG HUGS right now..

redmaryjanes said...

Oh yes Margaret,
Those new photos of Graeme are darling. He is a very handsome boy. He looks bigger in the photos than 24 months.

Nancy said...

Kimberley I've thought alot about your grandma. It reminds me of what my Mom went through. It was very hard on me, because I was 15 hours away. My sisters lived in the town with her, and really helped my dad out.

Margaret M said...

thank you all for your support this week. this has been the hardest week in the wait for LOA. Your support on our blog has really, really helped.

Maine??? something to think about

Kimberly, any starfish will be fine especially if there is one that has not been chosen.

Nancy said...

How long of a drive is it for you Kelly? I may actually be looking at a 10 hour drive. YIKES!!!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you Kim.
We're just going to take it day by day and see what happens.

Nancy said...

The gym is going to be opening soon, and if I am going to get there, I need to get ready. Maybe I can check back later.

Truly Blessed said...

Kimberley,

Your grandma sounds like a wonderful and strong woman. She doesn't want you to worry, and would likely be upset if you did.

You need to find "other" reasons to visit her (to ease your own mind) -- is there anything she can do to help with the babies? I'm thinking like knitting or crocheting...if she does, you could ask her to make hats or blankets, or something like that -- keep her mind and hands occupied AND give her a feeling of usefulness while helping China babies.

Who's she seeing (oncologist?) Eric knows them all...

redmaryjanes said...

Nancy,
It is tough because we are 12 hours away and I feel like my Aunt is going through this alone with her.
My Aunt is 16 years older than me, so we are more like sisters. She calls me almost daily to let me know what is happening. We usually end up in tears. I wish I was able to carry more of the emotional burden with her. She's the one who was at the biopsy and will go to the oncologist because I am here.

redmaryjanes said...

I am really proud of you Nancy with your running and working out. That is fantastic.

Kim said...

Did everyone sign up for Dannye's sock swap over at LayDfrog..????

Gail said...

Yes Kimberley please let us know what we can do to help you...that generation or age group that your Grandma is in, can be very stoic and not ask for help much, or want to talk about what she is going through. I know because my parents are in their 70's too. I'm praying for her and your family.

Unknown said...

OH Margaret, it true, Graeme is just delightful

Margaret M said...

Kimberly,

I have had you and your family in my prayers all week. I was sad to hear about your grandmother's biopsy results. My brother is an oncologist in south Louisiana and my Dad had a valiant fight with terminal cancer. I hope your family gets good news about treatments!

redmaryjanes said...

Margaret,
I will send you one of the links in e-mail. Thank you!

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you everyone!

redmaryjanes said...

I did sign up for the sock swap. I am waiting to see who my partner is. I love the swaps. I'm like a kid, whenever something comes in the mail for me, I'm thrilled.

Margaret M said...

we too our thrilled with our new pics of Graeme...he looks quite mischievous in that second one, don't you think? I sure hope that LOA comes soon....we are on day 124 I think

Margaret M said...

at of curiosity, where does everyone live? some I know but some I don't....

we are in RURAL southeastern, Kentucky for another year or so and then who knows, maybe Maine or maybe Colorado

Kim said...

All these little swaps help me with this wait...
I love getting goodies in the mail.. it is sooo much fun..

Crystal, it's so nice that you're "here" with us now! We're all praying you're home SOON!

Gail said...

Yes Crystal...also praying for you and hoping you will be home with your beautiful Savannah soon!

I cannot wait til her family gets a hold of her she is so snuggly!!! and waht a personality she will give Bella and amy a run for their mony..poor Zach and Zander trying to protect those three giels when thry are teenagers!!!
Yes Cliffords sisiter dying really hit me hard I have just fsllen in love with this young man he is so Godly and works so hard on being educated!! He would love to come to america !! I told him I have have some cute neices I would let him marry but he is just a little too old he can not wait to settle down but wants a wife that is educated!!! He was very sad yesterday and it broke my heart..the most amazing thing here is the warmth of the people and that they have so little but are so thankful and so hungry for God's word!! I will truly miss them but I am so ready to be home with my family!!

redmaryjanes said...

Is there anyone here who was a friend of Kate from A Special Family? She has a new blog now and has recovered from her illness.

Kelley said...

Good morning, everyone!

redmaryjanes said...

Crystal,
I am glad you are still here, I thought that maybe you lost your connection.
What breaks my heart is that quite a few have died since you have been there and it seems to be from things that are easily cured here in the US.
It is so very sad.
I hope you are home very soon because I know that your husband and children need you.
I think you are so brave to go to Africa on your own and I really am just amazed by you.
Your accounts on your blog are so touching.
I hope that they inspire more people to adopt from Africa.

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Kelley!
How are you today?

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Kelley!

I used to read "A Special Family" and was heartbroken to hear she had to withdraw from her adoption (and lost her foster kids). That was so heartbreaking. I am so glad to hear she's well now!

crystal,

I too have been inspired and amazed by your journey. It really brings home the mortality rate in Africa just reading your blog. I think you mention on one post that you have now lost count. There is so much more that needs to be done in the world, isn't there? I can't wait to see you united with your family. I know you are all anxious for that to happen. We will continue to pray for you all.

Kelley said...

Crystal, it's great to have you on the chat today! I've been reading your blog everyday, and I'm so sorry that Clifford's sister died! I'm so glad that you've had him to help you in Africa, and Savannah-Hope is absolutely adorable; she really seems to be thriving now that she's with her Mama!

Hey ladies, I want your opinion on our new baby's name.

It's Elizabeth, and will remain so, but we had planned on calling her "Ella" (it's the only nickname my boys can tolerate) -- unfortunately, it's so darn popular right now!

So, what are your thoughts on

Lizzie?

Daddy and I both like Eliza (the boys hate it), I like Liza, Ellie is fun but also very popular right now.

I love Betsy, but the boys think that sounds like a cow (I keep telling them that Bessie is a cow's name, not Betsy)...

I'm leaning toward Lizzie...

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Kimberley Byrd! How are you? Thank you for you sweet comment.

tomorrow I will be going to a church service in the village of milange I have not been to a service in the village but they are all similiar to SH and I am trying to prepare for this I know God will do amazing things there!

Amy, have you decided on your baby's name? I've probably read it, but cannot remember it.

I love the name Elizabeth, but I'm big on nicknames, too. Only one of my kids doesn't have a nickname, and his Dad named him! I never had a nickname and missed it.

Libby is awfully cute too.

My fear is that our daughter will get to school and be one of three or four kids with the same name and she'll be referred to as "Chinese Ella" (or whatever) -- it never bothered me to have other kids with the same name as me, but with her having a different ethnicity, I don't want THAT to be the distinguishing factor.

Maybe I'm over thinking this, but hey, I certainly have the TIME!!!

LynnMarie

Michaels mom is Linda and my sisters middle name is Lynn

Both of michaels gmas were Marie and one of the meanings we liked was
"wished for child"

Gail said...

I like Ella and Betsy, my sister's name is Betsy and you don't hear that name much anymore. :)

redmaryjanes said...

Have fun at your little boy shower Margaret! That is wonderful.

Great to talk with you Gail, have a great weekend!

Kelley said...

(I didn't jump in sooner because I was over at Robin's website to get in on that IPod shuffle, and figure out what I want to order from her. Her stuff is fabulous!!!)

Kelly, I think you are going to have to wait to meet that precious baby of yours and see what name works for her...you'll know it as soon as you get to spend some time with her.

I don't think it matters what's popular, either. Just go with what feels right! :)

Unknown said...

oh that showed sounds like so much fun!!!!

Truly Blessed said...

I need to finish a little laundry, so I'll disappear for a while, but I'll be back!

Kelley said...

Crystal, I know you're getting to spend a lot more time in Africa than you planned...that shower being moved is proof of that, too. But you've had such a great positive attitude about it, and you've been so willing to help there where you can...it's been a blessing, though I know it's had to have been a true test of your faith. I'm hoping that everything works out so that you can get back as soon as possible, and that shower can be rescheduled for the very near future!

redmaryjanes said...

Robin's clothing is fabulous. The quality is amazing. I have 2 of her dresses that I have received as SB gifts and they are beautiful.

Margaret M said...

TB,
Lily is one of two Lilys in her class. The other Lily is actually her best friend. I didn't want the whole Lily M so we used her Chinese name and she goes by Lily Wen at school and her BFF is Lily D. Ethnicity never came to play. Hope this helps, really am gone now!

Kelley said...

Can you believe that Chloe isn't awake yet? I've been letting her sleep in today because she's had a full week of daycare...she usually takes a 3 hour nap in the afternoon at home, but they only let her sleep for 2 hours there. She's behind...

She has about 10 minutes before I go wake her up, though. It's almost 8:30!

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,
So, are you ready for your vaca? Did you get a new bathing suit or anything?

Unknown said...

I know 5 Chinese Lilys, I wonder why. I think its such a beautiful name!

The Johnson Family said...

thanks kelley

rmj you can not beleive how much i enjoyed that taco with all the moaning going on i was afraid my taco and i were going to need to get a room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Kelley,
Chloe is darling and I love that family photo you have on the blog. I didn't know you had another daughter.

Kelley said...

I actually have TWO stepchildren. Alex is 18 and Kiersten is almost 12. I try to take pictures whenever we see them, but we don't see them that often. They're both at an age where their extra-curricular activities and friends take precedence over visits with Dad and Stepmom. :)

redmaryjanes said...

Crystal,
You will never look at a taco the same way again!
I think it's great how you have kept such a postive outlook through all of this.
And it sounds like the people you are with are absolutely wonderful.
I hope that you can stay in contact with them.

Unknown said...

OK friends, Im going to have to go to bed.

HOpe to see you in bloggy world this week!

ILl be on the Disney boat next week

Kelley said...

Sleep well, Amy! Can't wait to hear about your trip...it's going to be a blast!

redmaryjanes said...

I have a stepdaughter too and she is 15 and lives an hour away. We don't see her as much as we would like, but all of her friends and activities are at where she lives and we understand that.

Unknown said...

Poor Michael hahaha

The Johnson Family said...

Kelley said...

I'm praying for you, Crystal! Take care of yourself, and of that darling baby girl, too!!

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Crystal,
Hang in there.
I hope you are home soon. I am praying for you and your family.

Kelley said...

Kimberley, is there anyone still here but us? I've been scrolling back through comments and it looks like everyone had to leave.

I emailed you a secret buddy request...I'm worried about my buddy since she hasn't posted lately.

Kelley said...

Oh, and it has nothing to do with giving/receiving gifts either...

redmaryjanes said...

Kelley,
It has gotten quiet. I think that most everyone did leave. It happens sometimes on here, there will be some quiet time and then a bunch of people jump on.
I can e-mail you SB and see if they received their gift.

Unknown said...

ok I am back for a minute.. MIchael called and wanted me to remind you 80s fans about his 80s blog and hes changed the format for Saturdays

http://rockingthe80s.blogspot.com/

Nothing like pimping your hubbys blog!

I think it would soo cool for him to come home and find comments

redmaryjanes said...

I just read your e-mail and sent one back to you.
Yes, I agree.

Unknown said...

Michael is very sarcastic and sometimes his personality doesnt mesh with others!!

He needs some extra encouragement sometimes

Truly Blessed said...

Hi, I'm back. There is always laundry to do in this house!

It looks like the sun is coming out a little bit more and might turn into a beautiful day.

What are your plans for the day?

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,
I love how much you care for your husband, I think it's great.
You guys have such fantastic adoption support groups and activities in your area too. I wish that we did here.

redmaryjanes said...

I think my husband wants to put our dock in this weekend, but that will depend on the weather and how many of our neighbors are out and willing to pitch in.
We got supplies to clean our boat, but our shore station is in storage, so we'd have to have it delivered before we can put the boat in.
I know for sure that I will be doing some more cleaning in my garden this weekend.

Kelley said...

Thanks, Kimberley.

Amy, I saw Michael's new "soundtrack Saturday." That's a good idea!

Unknown said...

im going to sleep and then going back to work but then I am off 2 days, work Tuesday and then off for 10!

Truly Blessed said...

Kimberley,

Have you ever done anything with the FCC group in GR? It's called CCGGR (Culture Group, Greater GR).

They also have a yahoo group for this area, as well as a website that tells of upcoming events, and two playgroups.

About this time every year they do a discussion panel for families who are waiting. I haven't heard anything about it, but it seems like it should be coming up right about now.

Kelley said...

Around here, things are going to be quiet today. Tom is out and about doing air conditioning start ups for people, and I've been selfishly letting Chloe sleep...

Yikes! I hear her on the monitor now, starting to talk to herself. I'd better go get her up. I hope to be back later.

If not, everyone have a fantastic day!

Unknown said...

it is quiet so I guess thats a sign I need to go to bed!!!!

dont forget to pray MOnday and to visit Michaels blog (s)

All of you rock and all of you make me smile

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great weekend Amy.

redmaryjanes said...

Kelley,
I am so glad you are my friend because you always know what's going on.
I would like to have a group to go to where they have a speaker or some other type of event where we can learn something new or meet people who are waiting.

Truly Blessed said...

Good night, Amy! Rest well.

All three of the boys are awake now -- teenagers can SLEEP!!!! Yes, my youngest son had a birthday on Monday and he's officially a teenager!

We've got a baseball scrimmage at noon, and my BIL & his kids are coming over so the girls can play with Katie while the daddies go to visit their ill uncle in a nursing home.

I'll be watching the scrimmage, watching kids and working in the yard. Oh, and doing laundry, of course!

redmaryjanes said...

Wow, that's a busy weekend. Are you going to your lake house?
I hear you with the laundry. When you have big families like we do, it's inevitable. I feel like I'm always drowning in it.

Truly Blessed said...

Kimberley, I'll get you a link for the Yahoo group and for the CCGGR website. That's the way to stay informed about what's happening around here.

redmaryjanes said...

That would be great.
We went through your LWB CD on Sn children and it's very informative.
And as you know, I loved The Waiting Child.

Truly Blessed said...

Okay, here are the links:

www.ccgggr.org/content (this is the group website)

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ccgggr (this is the yahoo group)

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you, I will check it out.

~verna said...

Hi all, just checking in but noah is yanking my arm

redmaryjanes said...

Where is K1 today?

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Verna, how are you today?

Truly Blessed said...

I'm glad the CD helped (and aren't the children just beautiful?).

Now that you have an idea, I'd suggest joining the yahoo groups for those needs you think you need more information about. The folks on those yahoo groups LOVE to help and never seem to get tired of answering newbies' questions. I think the IA community is absolutely wonderful that way.

Also, a group I frequent is called "Waiting Children SN China" (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/waitingchildrenSNchina ) and it's made up of lovely people with a heart for all of China's children. Another great source of information about a variety of SNs.

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Verna!

K1 is probably still asleep, I think. It's still very early in Seattle!

redmaryjanes said...

Kelly,
If you don't mind, I'd like to keep the CD for a little while, so that when we see a SN list, we can cross-reference the children's SN's with the information on the CD and we will have a better idea of what we are looking at.

~verna said...

We're getting ready to leave town. Wedding shower and Noah is meeting the grandparents today -Keith's parents. They haven't made it down due to the continual snow.

Truly Blessed said...

Feel free to keep it until you've made your decision.

By the way, we are serious about starting an adoption support group at ABC and are looking at forming a group of people to 1) pray and 2) begin to work through what this group should do.

We would love it if you could be part of this start up group...
