Sophia's Christmas Ornament...

Each year I buy each of the children a christmas ornament. It is usually one that comemorates a sport that they are playing or a something that they are interested in that year. When they are grown and go out on their own, I will send their ornaments with them so that their tree will hold some of their childhood memories.

Last year I purchased an ornament for Sophia from Jiinkin Kids. It is really beautiful. I went back yesterday to choose one for her for this year. I saw this ornament on the site and my eyes welled up. Sometimes small things just hit me hard with this adoption. It was the word Believe that reached into my heart. I so need to continue to believe that Sophia is coming home, that everything is progressing as it should and that maybe next Christmas she will be home or very close to coming home.
So, this is the ornament that I chose for Sophia for this year. Maybe it's for me too.
I would like to say a special thank you to Stephanie the owner of Jiinkin Kids.

So sweet. We do the same thing for our kids. I'm trying to do double time because we lost all our ornaments in the fire. All of my childhood ornaments as well. They will be such a special gift to your children when that time comes. Love the ornament

That is so sweet. I look back at previous ornaments we bought for Mia during the wait and I literraly well up every time. This is such a hard process and it hit us all differently but no matter what our hearts are in the middle of it and it hurts like crazy. Your little one will love to look back at each ornament and smile when she thinks of her mommy who loved her WAY before she was ever home. That is very special!!

We have more in common than we know. Every year, I get each of the grandkids a Hallmark ornament for the tree at their respective home. They love this. When they decorate each year, they can remember years past.
We have a sign in the window of our front room for all to see. It says " WE BELIEVE". Sometimes, you just feel the need to profess your faith.

My mother ordered Isabella's first ornament from there... This is the first Christmas on our journey to Isabella... Last Christmas we were just paper chasing.. so this is going to be fun..
I wish we could have her by next Christmas but I know that may not happen so at least one more Christmas and that is it...
Hugs to you my friend..

I love that ornament! I think I must have one. I buy ornaments every year too, for my husband and I. Last year I bought one for Sophie too. I love that it will become a tradition.

I do the same thing for my boys. My husband thinks they are going to outgrow it, but my 13 year old still loves putting his special ornaments on the tree.
I just ordered an ornament for Arianna from there. Thanks for the heads up.

I love your blog. I haven't commented yet, but I've read a lot.
We do the ornament thing too and have been since I was a baby. We have started it now with our own children and I think we're going to have get another tree this year.
What a blessing y'all are. God bless you and your family. I send you lots of prayers for getting Sophia home with y'all soon!

It's beautiful. It touched my heart. Believe little Sophia... God is on the throne and Your Mama and Daddy will be there to bring you safely home. Hold on little one just as your Mama is holding on to the promise of you...

Beautiful!!! I'm going to have to go check out that site!

Btw, Sophia is a name my husband suggested for Eliana - it was on our list for a while. =) I was choosing cutsy, shorter names - he liked longer more elegant ones (of course, Eliana was his suggestion, but it's just perfect for her).

PS - love that song!

I did the same thing last year, bought an ornament for our daughter.
We thought she'd be here this Christmas.
I'm sure I'll get weepy when we pull out our ornaments and I see it.
