Out Into The Woods...

I have been up since 5am making breakfast for this year's hunters. Yes, today is the first day of firearm deer season here in Michigan. Here are our hunters, Zach, my BIL Scott, my FIL Gary, Kate, Tim and Tyler in the front. They are heading out to the farm that has been in the family for over a hundred years. My BIL drives up from Florida every year to go. The kids have all been through hunters safety and this is Tyler's first year out.

My hunters leave tonight to head up to northern Wisconsin for the big hunt. My hubby, son, 2 nephews, brother-in-law, & my dad will be going. They are all hoping for big bucks. I am hoping for no venison at my house :). May everyone have a safe season.

Can I send Joseph to your house? He is about to start his safety course here and we have a friend who is going to take him and Joe boar hunting on their land in Ocala. Great picture - happy hunting!

I come from a long line of hunters, my Father hunts moose in the far North, deer and coyote. Our family has a hunt and fish camp in the Temagami are, we have a lot of American guys come up to hunt game in the fall.
Have a safe hunt everyone.

Run Bambi, run. (sorry, had too)
Not a venison fan. ;p

I've got 3 good sized deer on my front lawn every morning. I guess they know they're safe here. MY brother-in-law shot his deer from his bedroom window, in his underwear. Yeah, really. Then he ate breakfast, and then went out to gut it. He just couldn't resist!

Oh gosh my husband would be so jealous. He is a closet hunter out here in San Diego. If you even talk about hunting in SD people look out you like you have killed Bambi. I am going to have to show him the picture you posted.

My boys would love the "hunting" part. But they would probably cry when the deer was "found" and killed....:-)

my husband has been away for a week hunting up north.
My eight year old killed his first two deer this year -at the same time - all by himself (daddy was in the tree stand with him of course)
Though the animal lover in me hates the hunting part - my son was so proud and my husband was the proudest I have ever seen him.
GREAT bonding for fathers and sons.

My Dad used to do all that hunting and trapping and fishing. My first husband and his whole family, too. I am so glad that the love of my life does not....It was fun for a while. I am happy for your men though and wish them good luck. You'll have to share your venison recipes...

I never knew anyone who did this until I started a blog! Have you ever been hunting?
