Fun In The Sun...

Summer truly begins for me when my dearest friend Cheryl comes out to the lake and opens up her cottage. I live here year-round, but she is seasonal. I have known her for almost 13 years now and our children have all grown up together. This is Cheryl with her daughter Emily on the right and our neighbor girl Morgan on the left who is Zachary's Godfather's daughter.

Eli and Cheryl's daughter Rachel blowing bubbles. Rachel played with Eli all day long. She has incredible patience.

This is our new dock. Tim built it on his own and I think he did a beautiful job. It lights up at night so the children can see more easily while out in the dark.

We are very blessed to live in a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone else and most of their extended families. The majority of us have lived on this loop together for over ten years. We all take care of each other and each other's children. We have the neighborhood 'Grandmothers' who bake cookies for the kids and are always available for a hug. We have people who work in almost every field imagineable and are there to help. We truly live in Mayberry.

What a beautiful neighborhood it must be! I love your dock lights - I just showed my dh and he loved them too. I would love to do that to ours. I'll have to look into our association rules but they must look awesome at night - our boat has transom lights and I love the way the water looks lit up so this would be great. Enjoy the long weekend.

Glad to hear your friends are back for the summer. I'm jealous that you get to live at the lake year round...wish I could live at the cottage year round...if only I could find full time employment there...I'd move in a flash!

What a small world...your friend Cheryl graduated from HS with me (CHS, class of '81 -- egads!). She may not remember me, but tell her I said "hi" anyway.

The deck looks fabulous and it looks like you had a great & relaxing Sunday!

Oh, I'm sooo envious. It sounds like a wonderful place to live. We have lived in our house for 2 years now, and only know our neighbor on one side.

Awesome dock!! He did a great job.

Your pictures here make me so homesick for Michigan. If my mom wasn't out here now, I would seriously think about moving back.

Enjoy your friends company!! Looks like the start to a great summer! :)

What a beautiful spot you have. I just came in from our cabin which happens to be my favorite place in the world. I am always a bit cranky leaving and today was no exception. I love it there. It is the same way with our folks. Everyone looks out for everyone else's kids, etc.

Aren't we all so blessed to be where we are in life and loving the fact that we are going to have more precious daughters soon. Can't wait!
