Bowling with Eli....Didn't work out so well.

Tyler had a bowling birthday party to go to, so we decided that we would drop him off at his party and rent a lane on the other side so that we could bowl while he was enjoying the party. We thought Eli would have a fantastic time.

Everything started out great. Kate is a fantastic bowler. Eli was enjoying rolling the ball down the ramp that the alley had for the little bowlers.

But, then the tears started. He cried when it wasn't his turn. He cried when it was his turn. He cried when he couldn't use the heaviest ball. He cried when I helped him carry the heaviest ball. It just wasn't working.

So, we finished our games through the tears and went to get something for dinner. After dinner, we picked Tyler up right on time and went home. I thought we were going to have a wonderful family time but it didn't work out so well.

Oh, sometimes it's so hard to be the littlest one!

Poor Eli, it just wasn't his best day. Onward and upward -- another adventure awaits!

Ohhh...

Poor little guy. Sometimes it is rough being the little one. Soon he will have a little sister that he can show how to bowl.

I soooo know what you mean!!

It seems when we have the perfect "family fun night" planned, one is cranky, sick or not "into it".

The days it does work though are wonderful!!

At least you could smile through the ordeal!! ;)

Yep, plans are nice. But, sometimes it is just plain better on paper!
Oh well, better luck next time.
Way to keep your sense of humor about the whole thing!!!

That is sooo hilarious. Not to be mean, but trust a kid to hate something that you plan for him to love. If it's any consolation, he looks awfully cute when he's crying....:-) And you have this, "we tried so hard to make him happy" look. Too cute. You're a good mom! :-)

Sound JUST like what Isabelle would do to me!

The best laid plans of mice and men. I have noticed that kids have a way of proving this old saying. LOL
