These are our red couch photos taken at the White Swan Hotel. We were in such wonderful company on this trip. The families with us were truly inspiring. It seems like we have been on the run since they were taken. Our trip home went well for us, but we all are just exhausted. Tim, Eli and I caught some type of flu in Guandzhou. Thank goodness for Z Packs. Eli and I recovered pretty quickly, but Tim did not.
We are struggling to get back onto some type of a normal schedule. Last night was the first night everyone got to bed at a normal US time and woke up at a normal US time. Sophia will not sleep in her bed. She will nap on the living room couch, but will only sleep if I am with her at night. So, this throws Eli off too because he needs things to be fair between him and Sophia. So, he is now napping on the living room couch and refusing to sleep alone.
I cannot complain though. Sophia acts like she has always been with during the day. We are not having any issues with her as of yet. She eats normally and is very outgoing and affectionate. We haven't seen her seeking out anyone else for love or comfort in an unhealthy way, she seems to understand that we are her parents and is happy with us.
She and Eli and definitely quite a pair, enjoying the love and frustrations of being siblings. Zach and Tyler absolutely adore her. She is surrounded by love.
I will blog as I can. Today is the first day that I feel almost like myself again.

Welcome back, friend. I'm so happy to see more pictures and hear how things are going. That jet lag is a killer. I pray that sleep issues settle quickly. We struggled with that for so long in our house. I'd be afraid to have you ask me how many months it took Josie to sleep on her own. (((hugs)))
I am so sorry to hear that you've been sick, but it's just wonderful to see you blogging again. I'm glad that Sophia is feeling comfortable with her family...things will continue to get better as you all settle into a routine and get well. My prayers are with you!
Glad you had a safe trip home. It sounds like things are slowly going back to normal!
I just glad to see something from you. I have been worried...
Welcome home, Kimberley!
I was so happy to see you united with Sophia in China and to hear you're home safe and sound. I know first hand the toll sleep deprivation takes and it took me many long months to feel like myself again after returning from China with 21 month old Cameron in January 2008. Days were fun and nights were a killer for a long time, but it was all worth it as we can't imagine our daughter with any other family but ours! Congratulations on bringing Sophia home to her big brothers. I wish you the very best.

Thinking of you lots.

I'm so glad to hear Sophia is adjusting so well. She is such a beautiful girl!! I can understand the fairness thing all too well, as we are going through that right now, too. Enjoy your night times with your precious girl.
Happy you are HOME!!!! Sorry about the sickness and the jet lag is killer but glad you are working through it. Send me what size you think she is and I will get a package to you : )
she's just the cutest little thing. how old is she?
LOOK at the beautiful family shot!!! LOVE IT!! Sorry to hear you've been sick...the jet lag on the way back doesn't help either...so glad to see you back today!!
CONGRATULATIONS again, my friend!! These photos are such a glorious sight!!

So glad you are all home enjoying life TOGETHER!! Thanks for all the great pictures!!
I am so happy that you are HOME I tell you you have been in my thought and prayers I have been hoping that things have been ok!
It will happen. It takes time.
Sleep is such a vital part of feeling normal!!
I just love seeing your family with the Seventh Diamond finally being represented by your sweet daughter's face!!!!
Yahooo!!!
So happy to hear you're all together and doing well! Don't stress about the sleep too much. Give her what she needs and this, too, shall pass (eventually!)...
I am so glad she is doing so well. Nighttime was the most difficult for both of my children as well. I am not surprised. It took us almost 2 and a half years for Hannah to be able to sleep through the night on her own. So just know you aren't alone. Will be praying for you all.
Welcome home sweet girl.
Hope you are all over the flu very soon.
Love,
Daleea
Welcome home Kimberley! Welcome to America Sophia Jane! I'm sorry you were sick but I'm thankful that God carried you safely home. Your precious girl is HOME! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Bless you! I remember those first days back home. EK was the same way- would not sleep in her bed and slept ON my for about 5 months. I am so happy she is doing well and getting along with her brothers!!! So happy to read your post and hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!!!
Blessings!
Welcome home!
What a beautiful family!!! I am so happy to hear that you are all home safe and sound...albeit fighting off the bug and praying for sleep.....
It only gets better and better from here!
Congratulations!!!
Welcome home.
If Kelly hasn't mentioned it, BBQ/Bon Fire at my brother's house Mon July 20th. She'll have nmore details when I do.
so glad you are settling in. I know the first weeks can almost seem like a dream and you have to keep saying is this really my life now? Your family is beautiful and I am so happy for you all.
Such a beautiful family! She fits like a glove! Mya slept with Sara and Bill for a while, too. Now one of them will lay down with her til she falls asleep. Most times, she goes on her own now. Carter was very upset about not being the baby but now after 6 months, everything is normal. I asked him yesterday if he thought she was pretty and he said-she's beautiful! They seem to gel very well. Sibling rivalry is just part of kids nature. You are going to have such a wonderful life. I am so happy-happy-happy for you. I have tears of JOY! for you. Many, many blessings to you and all.
PS--hope Tim is feeling better.....
Oh Kimberley~WELCOME HOME! I hope all is back to normal as soon as it possibly can be. I know those first 2 weeks are exhausting!!!! I am so very happy for you!
Kim
So glad to see you've posted (I was checking the other site and only popped over here on a whim). Still, I'm at the lake and only have dial up, so I can't see the photos you've included, though I'm sure they're wonderful.
The first few weeks are a killer, BTDT!! But soon you will all be back to a regular routine, and believe it or not, the kids will sleep in their own beds so you can sleep in yours! Don't want to suggest a "when" on that, but it WILL happen!
I certainly hope Tim is feeling better now. There is nothing like getting home from this trip and having jet lag on top of something else that is much worse. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for him.
Can't wait to see you -- I don't know what our family plans are just yet, but I'll contact you when we're back home so we can get the kids together to play.
Kel
Welcome home, friend! I'm so glad to hear that the bonding process continues. And sorry to hear that y'all were/ are sick. Feel better soon!
Hey... welcome back... glad to hear that all went well... I have been so busy of late I don't get to visit people as much as I use to.. still think of you all though... hugs...
Hello to Eli from his buddy Qian!
Sorry to hear you guys were sick. Qian was ill on the plane ride home. She tested positive for the flu and a bacterial infection. I hope Tim feels better soon!
Glad that you are all home safe and sound! Great to hear that all is going well for you.
Blessings!
What a wonderful journey to China and back, I relived every moment as I read of your adventures. Thank you for sharing! Those first days back are really tough, but it only gets better from here :)

I am glad that all is well....I have been praying for an easy transition/attachment/bonding. I know God is blessing you each day.
WOW. Amazed. Reading this just gives me so much encouragement. LOVE these photos. YOU ARE STUNNING and so is Sophia and your whole family- I am just overjoyed for you and sad I missed this journey as it was happening!! I am feeling incredibly blessed to get caught up and to realize that Gao Mei is in a place that is already preparing her for the adoption (they are SO good about it)- we are lucky that way, and not for a second do I take it for granted... wow K... just amazing...
