Has Breast Cancer Touched Your Life or the Life of Someone You Love?

I really want to acknowledge that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you have been affected by breast cancer or if someone you love has, please acknowledge them in a comment. I think we will all be surprised to see how many of us are affected by this terrible disease.

My Aunt Pam is a breast cancer survivor. The experience changed her life and she believes it played a role in who she is today. And while she wouldn't want to go through it again, she sees how despite the pain and fear, it made her a stronger woman. I love you Aunt Pam!

I lost my maternal Aunt to Breast Cancer 6 years ago. She was in remision for 5 years and then it came back. She was a trooper!

It has changed our lives completly. Our family will never be the same. To see someone you love so much go through so much pain and not be able to do anything about it is just heartbreaking.

This is just a terrible disease.

My mom, Judy, lost her battle with breast cancer in 2005. My life has been changed forever by this disease and walking beside her on what turned out to be her final journey.

My friends, Marilyn and Susan are also survivors.

Kimberley, thank you for recognizing this very special month! Today is the birthday of my Aunt Ruth. Breast cancer took her life when she was only 53. Skin cancer took my mom's life at age 73. Cancer is an ugly disease and I pray they continue to find cures and that the survival rate only increases. My mom was best friends with her sister Ruth. My mother was never the same after we lost her sister. Although I miss my mom so very much I'm happy to know that she is once again united with her sister...her friend!
Hugs to you!

My dear friend is battling the disease for a second time right now. The first time was in 1994, she had a lumpectomy....chemo radiation.....and was cancer-free for 14 years....then it returned in July of this year. She then had a double mastectomy and is now going through the chemo. She is one touch gal...and literally fighting for her life!
I pray for a cure everyday!
Thanks for doing this post!
Blessings,
Denise
