I haven't heard any big news in the adoption world this week. Everything seems pretty quiet.

Hello girly.. Just wanted to say Hello as I am walking out the door..
Hugs..

Good Morning Kimberley.
I thought I would pop in before the day gets crazy.
Have to pick up donuts for Nathanaels band invitational they are hosting today, and take him to the school.
Seth has a football game at 9:15am and then a party from 11-2.
Ethan has a soccer game at 2:45.
Then we need to pick up Nathanael, get him fed, and return him to school to travel for another invitational (competition) tonight. He performs at 9:00am.

I also have plans to run to Seth's game since he has to be there so early. I'll meet Dave and the boys well before the game starts.

I LOVE FALL!!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Kim, I showed Tim the blanket and he just couldn't believe it :)

redmaryjanes said...

Wow Nancy, now I know why you have been running...you need to to keep up with the boys :)
Have a great weekend!

Nancy said...

Tomorrow is football day. Noone cooks, and all cleaning is done before noon.

Truly Blessed said...

Good morning Kimberley, Kim & Nancy -- three of my favorite bloggers, hope I didn't miss Kim as she headed out the door!

Nancy, your schedule for today gives me a headache -- I need coffee!

redmaryjanes said...

Zach's in a hockey tournament, so he has a game at 11:30am and 6:30pm today and then one tomorrow if they do well enough today.

Nancy said...

It actually works as a GREAT stress reliever for me.
Plus, I can eat almost anything now, and keep off the 20+ pounds I worked to lose at the beginning of the year.

redmaryjanes said...

Hey there Kelly,
How are things at your house? I need some coffee too. We're out of milk, I was at the store and forgot to pick some up yesterday. I don't know what we're going to do for breakfast around here.

Nancy said...

Good Morning Kelly.
How are the girls. I've not had time to read at all this week.

Man, has it been a week:(

Truly Blessed said...

Nancy, keep up the GREAT work. Congratulations on losing that 20 lbs and keeping it off!

Nancy said...

We have had to start doing our grocery shopping on Fridays as it is the only time we have.
Last night we had 2 of the boys in tow after the football game.
Grocery boys late with wired children from the junk they just ate at the game is NOT a good mix!!!

Truly Blessed said...

We've got a day shaping up, but nothing like either of yours.

My nephew is getting married at "11:00 in the afternoon" (no kidding, that's what the invitation said) and then DH & 2 DSs and a friend have tickets to the UofM/Wisconsin game while another DS heads to the Homecoming Dance tonight.

Truly Blessed said...

Hey Kimberley, wake Zach up and ask him to go get some milk.

Otherwise, there's always oatmeal or fried eggs...

redmaryjanes said...

Homecoming? How fun :) Zach didn't go to his this year. He stayed here and pulled shore stations out of the lake with his lake boy posse.
I wish he would have gone.

redmaryjanes said...

I think it's going to be fried eggs and sausage. I bought worms for fishing yesterday and could have grabbed a gallon of milk, but I spaced it.

Nancy said...

My cute classroom story for the week.
This week we worked on the letter N so we sorted numbers and colored noodles. We also painted with Newspaper. When we asked one little boy why we were using newspaper, he matter of factly told us it was because we did not have any paintbrushes.

Man he may think we never have any since next week we are using our palms and pumpkin rinds to paint...P week!

Truly Blessed said...

I truly was scared there for a moment that you said you thought about having worms for breakfast!

Whew (huge sigh of relief!).

Nancy said...

Maybe you should tell the boys that you got the worms instead as a new breakfast 'treat'!

Nancy said...

SAD...
Gotta go get the donuts now.
Nice seeing you ladies!
Have a great weekend.

Truly Blessed said...

Nancy, it sounds like you are really enjoying your job. That's so fantastic.

You also have some fun ideas for your kids -- do they know how lucky they are? I cannot ever remember either myself or my boys using newspaper or pumpkin rinds to paint in school...

Truly Blessed said...

O -- what about O? You gonna paint with Onions too?

redmaryjanes said...

I teased Tim about it and he told El he could fry up some worms with onions for breakfast. Eli said emphatically that we wouldn't be eating any worms for breakfast. Oh yeah...I just heard the coffee grinder.

Nancy said...

NO....
Octopus tentacles!

redmaryjanes said...

Yeah, I'm trying to think of something that starts with O that you could paint with and all I can think of is oreos and that wouldn't work because the kids would eat them.

Truly Blessed said...

So, BIRTHDAY GIRL, it looks like it might just be you and me for a bit.

Since you likely won't broadcast your birthday like you do everyone elses, I guess it's up to me to spread the word...but with a private blog, that's difficult. So, I'll use The Seventh Diamond to spread the word (everyone comes here for information anyway!).

Sorry you have to go to a meeting on your birthday (but I'll make it worth your while -- I have a little something already for you).

redmaryjanes said...

What Octopus tentacles???

Truly Blessed said...

OCTOPUS TENTACLES???? Where in the world do you find O.T.s? Real ones? Does PETA know?

Truly Blessed said...

I can just see Eli shaking his head at worms for breakfast.

COFFEE -- gotta love it. My DH just brought a cup for himself to the table, and after I cleared my throat and shot him a glance, a cup of hot, steaming, aromatic coffee just appeared at my right hand!

Truly Blessed said...

Kimberley's birthday is tomorrow! : )

redmaryjanes said...

Fabulous training there Kelly! I am waiting for my cup :)
Eli and Tyler are laying on my bed. Eli is trying to cuddle with Tyler and he's telling him he loves him and he's his bestest brother. Tyler is usually annoyed by Eli, but I heard him tell him he loves him too.
A great Mom Moment since they usually fight like crazy.

redmaryjanes said...

Thanks Kelly.

Truly Blessed said...

Savor every moment like that. Of course, in another year (when Tyler starts sleeping in on Saturday mornings) he won't feel any reciprocal feelings at all!

Sweet story to a mom's heart, though!

redmaryjanes said...

You are a mindreader Kelly, Zach just took off to get some milk.

Truly Blessed said...

Last night, at the football game, Ella was melting down (because it was late and because I didn't bring her real Bahba just the 3/4 sized one) when she saw Kegan in his band uniform coming toward us. Her face lit up like a Christmas tree. That was so special to see.

Truly Blessed said...

Heh. There's a reason we keep those teenagers around the house, doncha know!

redmaryjanes said...

I ADORE Ella. She is so cute. I love how attached she is to her Bahba. Eli has a build a dinosaur he likes, but he isn't really attached to anything (except me). He's going through an attachment phase and is always asking me to promise I won't leave when he takes a nap or goes to bed at night.
We never go anywhere, so I don't understand it. He asks us over and over to promise we won't leave.

redmaryjanes said...

Are you still here Nancy? Man, you have a crazy day today.

Truly Blessed said...

Oh, how sweet and sad at the same time. You wonder what goes on in their little heads sometimes.

About that Bahba -- it gets a little annoying at times, seriously!

Have you ever seen the blog of the little one from China whose "lovey" is an airline blanket the family calls "Connie" (after Continental airlines)? Sweetest story ever.

Truly Blessed said...

Have you been following Susannah's journey home?

I can't believe they were only in China five days with her, but they're home and she's in the hospital. She's a very sick little girl. She has open heart surgery scheduled for Tuesday morning. Mom (Leslie) is dealing with the agony of having Susannah not want her around. What a rocky start to their family relationship.

redmaryjanes said...

No, I haven't heard of Connie, that is too funny.
I am getting excited for tomorrow, I think we are going to have a good meeting.

Truly Blessed said...

The thing with 'Connie' is that it's a cheap blanket to begin with, and after 4 months of being loved on and hauled around and washed, it was falling apart. So the mom wrote to Continental Airlines and asked for another blanket. The folks at Continental not only sent her several, the workers gathered together other CA things and sent them as well AND they wrote a story about the little girl in their inflight magazine complete with a picture of this sweet little one clutching her "Connie".

Awwww

redmaryjanes said...

This weekend Tyler and I are doing a lake experiment to see if our lake is polluted. We have to take a sample and analyze the type of organisms that live in the lake. I think that will be pretty interesting.

Truly Blessed said...

Yes, I'm excited about tomorrow's meeting, too.

I have a great idea to get the church involved in Nat'l Adoption Month -- which will also get our "group" information out to the church.

I'm so glad Wendy replied to our emails the way she did -- kind of a relief, wasn't it?

Truly Blessed said...

You ever go to the VanAndel museum and see the magnified drop of pond water exhibit?

redmaryjanes said...

It was a huge relief, thank you so much for sending that one out. I think it's going to be a great group. I will see Melinda today I think at Zach's game. So, I'll get to talk to her too.

redmaryjanes said...

I haven't been to the Van Andel since the exhibit from Egypt was there.

Truly Blessed said...

I'm gonna scoot now. Have to get the family ready for this wedding and for the rest of the day's activities.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow for the meeting.

By the way, did you make a decision about future chats? Don't answer that on my account, I have to get moving. Tell me tomorrow!

Have a wonderful day, tell Zach to play hard at his tournament!

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day. It sounds like people want to continue them. So, we'll figure something out.

Unknown said...

GOod morning. Just got home. Let me catch up!

redmaryjanes said...

Hey there girl, I think we're the only ones on here now, all of the ladies are on the run with their kids. How was work?

Unknown said...

Happy early bday!

Unknown said...

Pretty good. My orientee did most of the work, how are you?

redmaryjanes said...

I'm good. Thanks about my birthday. I think we're going to have a great weekend. Zach's in a hockey tournament and I love to watch him play, I'm decorating the house for Halloween and Tyler and I are going to do a lake experiment to see if our water is polluted.
And he and I are going to make cookies together.

Dannye said...

morning, just dropping by cuz haven't in a while

Dannye said...

how's everyone?

Unknown said...

hi there dannye!!!!

Sounds like a great weekend

redmaryjanes said...

Hi Dannye, how are you? How's your Mom doing?

redmaryjanes said...

I am re-working the secret buddy group again. 3 moms are leaving, so I have to re-shuffle some things. I'll let you know if anything changes for you. I don't think so.

Nancy said...

Happy Birthday Kimberley.
I am back from getting donuts and going to be out again shortly to get a headstart on the crew to the football field.

Octopus tentacles are at fish markets. Very cool prints!!!

LaLa said...

Hey girls!! I wrote a comment a few minutes ago but it didn't show..I am tired I guess.

Anyway, not much here....keep us in your prayers as we are 17 days into our 60-100 day wait for approval. I am praying nothing goes wrong and honestly need to be getting the nursery together but there is a part of me who is afraid too. Of course I didn't even buy Annslee's crib until after our referral : )

Nancy said...

Oranges also make cool prints!

Dannye said...

things are well thanks....

mom is doing well, i am headed out shortly to pick her up...

amy, had a great time wed nite at halloween horror nites with my brother, he works out there so we get to do employee preview nite, where the park is open only to employees and family/friends....we did 4 houses and saw Bill and Ted (always the highlight of the whole thing)....

Dannye said...

so lala, what does that mean, is that travel approval???

Unknown said...

I am good Dannye. I miss my Orlando friends!..Not much going on here in Atlanta except trying to find gas, everything is out

redmaryjanes said...

Laura,
I think the 25th will work for me for a baby shower! Sound good?

Nancy said...

My dad just got back from traveling to California on his motorcycle. He was gone 3 weeks...during Ike...and NEVER paid over $3.45 a gallon. In LA it was only $3.42.
What gives?

Nancy said...

We got over $4.50 during Ike and it is still over $3.70. But at least we have it.
Sorry Amy.

Unknown said...

I waited 90 minutes for gas last week..Ugh..It could be worse, I know. So whats new in the adoption world?

redmaryjanes said...

I tell you, the gas prices have me nuts. It's all a scam, a total scam.

Nancy said...

Nothing new here, unfortunately!

Nancy said...

Gotta run...bye again!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN KIMBERLEY!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you Nancy, have a great day!

Check out that blessing!!!! We have a crib!!!

Unknown said...

Wonderful friends were going to sell this crib to us (still in box, never used but has a small bump on it) and changed their minds. They are giving it to us. HOw wonderful! What a blessing they are!

redmaryjanes said...

It is VERY nice when people give you baby stuff. We are lucky because we still have everything from Eli. But we borrowed his crib, so I'm planning to use a toddler bed for Sophia or put her in a twin with a siderail.

Unknown said...

It was a surprise because I didnt think anyone would do something like that for Michael and i. I feel loved

redmaryjanes said...

You are loved Amy. Everyone I come across who knows you says you are wonderful and the real deal.

LaLa said...

Dannye, yes it essense it is the USCIS approval that he is truly an orphan...we have all the birthparent info and they have to go find them and verify...so different from China

Kimberley...yes, the 25th is good for me..thank you so much for doing this : ) You know I need boy stuff LOL

Unknown said...

YOu are sweet. It was just to get a gift like this.I cant wait.

Now I need to get that stuff over to Amanda!

It takes me a while to feel loved. I sometimes think people are nice to me because they have to be, its a bit of my paranoia!!! heehee

redmaryjanes said...

Yes, I know you probably have a huge collection of girls clothes and now you need to some blue!

Dannye said...
