Please Support My New Adoption Community Blog...

Today I want to let you know that it is time to launch my new blog. It has been on my mind for a while now. The blog is meant to be an informational site for families who are interested in or have adopted internationally. The focus in not solely China, but all countries. On the right sidebar, countries will be segmented and blogs of families who would like to be accessible will be listed. So, for example, my blog will be under China. I am going to give families the opportunity to e-mail with another family who has experience in the country that they are hoping to adopt from. So, for example, if a family e-mails me that they would like to correspond with a family about some questions they have about adoption in Russia, I will connect them with an experienced family.
Which leads me to asking for help...as I always do from all of you.

1) I know that several of you have already volunteered to be listed under your country. Thank you! Please leave a comment if you are willing to be listed under your country.

2) Would some of you volunteer to be an informational family who would help another family with questions about their dossier or the adoption process?

3) Also, most of the families I know are adopting from China. If any of you are friends with wonderful families who think may be willing to participate and are adopting from other countries, could you ask them to contact me?

4) Lastly, I would like to have some helpful links on the blog for families. I am looking for a Shaohannah's Hope link and any others you think would be good.

Please visit the new blog and let me know what you think. The address is: internationaladoptionfamilies.blogspot.com

What a great idea Kimberely! Good luck! (I'm not sure if I would be much help as a contact since I know things are fairly different between the American & Canadian process, but I'm here if you need me!)

We've adopted twice from China and also a domestic adoption from the US. Please count us in.

We are praying (and hoping) that we can now bring home another little one from one of the African countries.

Gonna check out your site. What a great idea!!

Jacob and Chloe are from Guatemala and even though they are temporarily closed there is always the chance they will open again. I am praying, for the sake of the children...If you want to add us there and China...

Kimberley,

Love the new site. I'd be happy to be listed under Russia. Also, since we adopted an older child, our situation is a little unique. Sometimes people considering that have questions and concerns about what to expect. I wonder if you'd consider also having a separate section for "older children" or "school age children" adoptions. In turn, (though I can't help you here) what about a "special needs" section.

Good luck with the site! Again, always happy to help however.

I'm willing to be linked to your blog. My daughter is from Guatemala, and our adoption agency is Christian World Adoption at www.cwa.org.

I would be willing to be listed on the blog for China special needs and dossier help.

Kimberley - we are happy to be listed:) Our situation was unique because only one parent travelled for our Hannah and I love answering one traveller questions.

Your follow through amazes me - I think this is truly awesome.

Is it okay if I put the graphic on my blog?

It might be helpful to link to a reputable attachment site and also some books on attachment and adopted related issues. One of my favorites is Adoption Parenting, Creating a Toolbox.

Hope you are having a blessed week - I have been incommunicato with the girls' activities and the chaos that is May and June...it is so nice to be back!

Hugs,
Heather
