Good Morning Everyone~
I have been really busy this week, so if any of you know of any news that should be posted here, please let me know : )
Today I want to let you know that it is almost time to launch my new blog. It has been on my mind for a while now. The blog is meant to be an informational site for families who are interested in or have adopted internationally. The focus in not solely China, but all countries. On the right sidebar, countries will be segmented and blogs of families who would like to be accessible will be listed. So, for example, my blog will be under China. I am going to give families the opportunity to e-mail with another family who has experience in the country that they are hoping to adopt from. So, for example, if a family e-mails me that they would like to correspond with a family about some questions they have about adoption in Russia, I will connect them with an experienced family.
Which leads me to asking for help...as I always do from all of you.

1) I know that several of you have already volunteered to be listed under your country. Thank you! Please leave a comment if you are willing to be listed under your country.

2) Would some of you volunteer to be an informational family who would help another family with questions about their dossier or the adoption process?

3) Also, most of the families I know are adopting from China. If any of you are friends with wonderful families who think may be willing to participate and are adopting from other countries, could you ask them to contact me?

4) Lastly, I would like to have some helpful links on the blog for families. I am looking for a Shaohannah's Hope link and any others you think would be good.

This is the header. The address internationaladoptionfamilies.blogspot.com Nothing is there yet, but hopefully a great place is coming. Verna has the test blog completed, so we should be very close.

The chatroom in now closed, have a great weekend!

I'll be happy to link my travel site to the blog -- here's the address (again) http://www.youbelong.net.com/trulyblessed

Kimberley, you are so sweet to host this quilt square shower -- what a lovely person you are. Thank you.

Nancy said...

Kelly you just cracked me up...ironically, that is my fear. That I will pick them up in the exact clothes I dropped them off in.
EI goes in another week. Nathanael goes June 22nd. EI is going to spend some time with a friend in northern Illinois that week, so Seth and I are going to have some Mommy/Seth time and go to Chicago and Milwaukee. We'll hit the zoos and hopefully a baseball game.
I LOVE going to baseball games.

Nikki,

That bubble picture cracks me up. It looks like Katie has mighty powerful lungs, doesn't it? It was the breeze....!

Truly Blessed said...

Nancy,

You can't be afraid of something if you expect it, right?

Oh, I forgot toothbrush and toothpaste -- it's doubtful they'll use it, but if you ask their counsellors to remind them, they just might...

They will LOVE camp!

Make sure they take a disposable camera, too. Label it and expect really bad/fuzzy pictures of stupid things. That's what boys do with cameras!

Nancy said...

I can't get your new site to pull up. Is it working yet?

Truly Blessed said...

It should be. I'll check to see if I have the addy right.

Don't expect much -- there's not much there yet!

Nancy said...

I know they will love it. It is the first time any of them have done this. I am concerned about EI however. Twice this week when I have had to go somewhere, if I am not home in an hour he is calling wondering where I am.
Hopefully he will be to busy at camp to think about it.

Truly Blessed said...

Maybe I put in the wrong address: this one should work...

Yes it looks like she sure has a lot of blow power, lol!!

She sure has a contagious smile! That pic. of her with the piggie tails brings a smile to my face!

Does anyone have or know someone who drives a Chrysler Pacifica?

Smiles! :o)

Nancy said...

That one worked. Thanks!!!!

Special K said...

My friend has a Pacifica. She loves it.

Nancy,

The counsellors are trained to spot homesickness, and believe me, they keep the kids so busy, there is little time to think about missing home.

If your sons camp is anything like mine, getting mail is a HUGE thing! I sit down and write six or seven letters and put them in envelopes labeled for each day of camp and give them to the office to deliver each day. The letters are goofy and outrageous (sometimes I even tell the child we took a quick trip to Europe or Disney World or something like that). Sometimes they're written from the dog or cat -- I draw goofy pictures...and sometimes I even ask aunts and uncles to write a quick note (but each one goes in it's own envelope so the kid gets lots of mail). But you don't have to rely on the USPS to get it to them...

Thank you Gail!

Kelly,
You are going to be so surprised with who is doing your graphics, it's going to be great fun!

I would love to stay longer and chat, but I need to get going. I have not been doing so well with the gym. I was up to running a minumum or 4 miles and a max of 9, and this week it has been really bad. I am struggling with 3. I think it has to do with having to go so early (5:50am). Since my oldest has band camp at 8:00am I can't rely on him to babysit when I usually would go at 8:30am.

Kimberley- I got your IM e-mail, but I need more directions. I'm not sure how it works. Send me a detailed e-mail. And I heard from Secret Agent. Thanks!!!

Have a good week all. {{HUGS!!!}}

Truly Blessed said...

Okay, I just re-read my last comment...

you have to understand my boys know there is NO WAY in the world we would ever go to DW or Europe without taking them, so they understand I'm pulling their legs....

redmaryjanes said...

Nancy,

Last year Tyler wore the same underwear the whole week.
All of his underwear was folded exactly as I sent it and he confessed he never changed it.

Yuck!

Nancy said...

EEEEWWWWWW!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great week Nancy!

Truly Blessed said...

Well now I'm very curious -- who could it be?

Hmmmmmm...

Gail said...

You are cracking me up talking about boys not changing their underwear. I remember those days, guess I'm in for those days again too.

redmaryjanes said...

Gail,

Congrats on being one step closer! I love the music on your blog!

redmaryjanes said...

Oh yes, Tyler has some definite hygiene issues. I have to push him to shower and brush his teeth.
I wasn't surprised at all to find out that with the freedom of camp he didn't change his underwear.

Truly Blessed said...

Hey Kimberley,

I've got the high bid on that gorgeous pink "silk" dress on the JOCAT auction...!

Gail said...

Thanks Kim. It's all going extremely fast. I've gotten a lot done already, we could be traveling in 6 weeks we're told. All I can say is, when you submit your LOI be ready for it to go fast.

redmaryjanes said...

Yes, I see that you are the high bidder and thank you so much! My dresses didn't get much a response, so I'm glad you jumped in : )

redmaryjanes said...

I am so ready for my girl. We'll see still waiting in the fog here. But we should be review now. If only I can get my agency to confirm it.

Truly Blessed said...

I think people forget about it. All of your dresses are beautiful and I'm glad you donated them...

redmaryjanes said...

I'm chatting with Verna on gmail, she's working on the new blog. LOVE IT! She did a fabulous job.

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Thanks for telling me Karen. We just bought one but there are not many of them around here so I was looking for a "good" review on them, lol!

Smiles! :o)
Nikki

redmaryjanes said...

It seems to go in spurts. The auction will slow down for a while and then kick in again. I tell you Meredith Teagarden's outfits and Daleea's are a huge hit.

Gail said...

Kim, I would think you'd be out of review very soon. You are so close.
Well, I need to go...have to get Grace ready to go to a friend's bday party soon. Have a great weekend everyone!

polkadot said...

good morning, excited to hear about your new blog. you can list me anywhere appropriate (china adoptions, sn adoptions)...

redmaryjanes said...

Holy Cow!!
Verna has my new blog up. Please go take a look and tell me what you think.

redmaryjanes said...

Shelly,

Which blog would you like me to list?

redmaryjanes said...

Have a wonderful day Gail!!

Truly Blessed said...

Kimberley,

The new blog is beautiful!

Personally, I have a harder time reading words on a printed background -- at least when the color of the type is so similar to the colors in the background, but my eyes are getting old (along with the rest of me).

I can't wait to see it with all of the links and sites. Very, very cool!

redmaryjanes said...

Maybe I can have her do a darker or lighter print.

I just think she did a beautiful job. I'll have to start talking with people so that I can debut it filled with resources.

redmaryjanes said...

I need blogs from some other countries to list.

Truly Blessed said...

Don't forget about Crystal, and do you know the blog Tuninga Treasures? She adopted two kiddos from Uganda, I think. Jewels of my Heart has a daughter from China and a son from Eastern Europe.

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

The blog is beautiful!!! I have added a link on my sidebar to it!

Smiles! :o)
Nikki

Truly Blessed said...

I've also got a friend who adopted from Vietnam just a few months ago, she might be willing to be listed...

redmaryjanes said...

Yes, I will ask Crystal and Janet to be links for Africa.

I was going to ask Laura for Vietnam and any others would be a big help.

I have one Taiwan blog, Taiwans Treasures.

A Mom- In-W8ing said...

Thanks for a fun morning ladies!

Time to get going for the day. So much to do, so little time!

Have a great weekend! Talk to you all soon!

Smiles! :o)
Nikki

redmaryjanes said...

Thank you Nikki for linking it. I'm going to work on getting it up to speed this weekend.

Truly Blessed said...

If you're still looking for other countries, I am the member of our agency forum and there are families with kiddos from Russia, Kyrgastan, Guatemala, Ethiopia and somewhere else. Maybe I could ask if someone wants to be listed for those countries?

Let me know.
