Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group! I am hoping to hear some news today about Crystal. She is in Africa to bring Savannah Hope home. For updates on Crystal and Savannah, go to their family blog 'The Blessings Just Keep On Coming'.
If you want to see something that will bring a big smile to your face...go to Chinese Starfish. Many of the babies are posted in their Easter photos and I think you may just recognize some of the outfits they are wearing! I recognize one of the dresses that I sent! There are still four boxes here that need to be shipped out, so if you find it in your heart to make a donation to the postage fund, that would be so wonderful.
Anyone who wants a Sat Chat Sidebar Link, just let me know and I'll e-mail one over to you.

Didn't the Starfish babies look so sweet and adorable? Amanda is amazing.
Good Morning Kelly!
I think that she did a good job with what little time she had. The boxes arrived when they were getting ready to take the photos and then she had leave for Shanghai the next morning. She's speaking to a group of students who are going to do a fundraiser for surgeries for the Starfish children.
Good morning!
Hi there Lea!
How are you?
I am simply stunned by the amount of snow we got yesterday. We got about 8" here (and had to shovel the driveway twice yesterday afternoon/evening).
At least the snow is pretty and white again!
We are coated here too. I had a terrible time trying to get home from work yesterday. I tell you, I just really need it to be Spring quickly. I can't wait to get our boat out and be able to go out with Tim at night and be able to get away and talk.
I am doing well. How about you ladies?
Lea
We're having a great morning over here. Eli is watching Mulan, I'm on the Chat and Tim is listening to a podcast.
Good morning Lea, (sorry, my computer froze there for a few minutes).
So what's going on in your world Ladies?
Oh Kimberley, this snow has me so down. I was so looking forward for winter to be over. I know, I KNOW. This is Michigan, and winter doesn't really end until May 1st. But I was SO hoping!
Yeah, me too. Everything was thawing out here. There was no snow on the ground and the lake was almost thawed out too, but now we're coated and the lake is frozen over again.
I am with you, sick of snow and cold. This can't keep up for long and that what keeps me going!
Lea
Oops, gotta go get Katie. She's yelling for me.
I agree. I'm hoping this is it. It's supposed to be in the upper 40's next week. I have the cutest Easter outfit for Eli to wear tomorrow though and it has shorts.
I saw that cute card you got from Michelle. She does such a good job with her cards.
Good morning girls! I'm sad here too - lookin' at all our Easter snow! I didn't even bother buying Lily a pretty Easter dress - I knew it would be too cold for her to wear it. But, we'll be coloring eggs today...what are you all doing?
Good Morning Nikki!
I don't know what we are going to do today. I think Tim is going to make a pot of chili, but that's all that we have planned so far.
Good Morning Kimberley,Kelly,Lea and Nikki...
Just catching up on...
Savannah is soooo adorable...
and the Starfish children are toooo cute...
You did a wonderful job Kim...
I can not believe you guys are getting snow.. it was 87 here yesterday...
Man, I need to go down there and stay with you for a few weeks Kim.
It actually was pretty nice here last week and then out of nowhere it was freezing yesterday and we got dumped with a lot of snow.
Holy Cow Kim, look at all of your Secret Buddy gifts!
Ladies,
Have you heard about certain agency's not being Hague compliant and people are stuck in limbo?
Mmm. Chili sounds good...I just wish we all lived with Kim in Arizona and we could have a BBQ or something.
But anyway, I just popped over for the latest from Crystal. Seems like she and Savannah are doing really well - and yes, she is SUCH a doll!
No , I haven't heard about those..
I had asked my agency about that .. and she said that we are okay.. it has something to do with the newer ones..
My agency likes to give out very little info..
I am glad to hear it. I have seen the photos on her blog and Savannah just seems to be such a happy baby.
I was reading on a blog about a family who is totally in limbo. Their agency has not been approved yet. I was just wondering what happens to them? What if their LID comes up?
Any big plans for anyone...
Today ~of course I have to go to work..(have to go in a few to finish getting ready),,,John is going to work (A/C job) and then they are all going out so they can hopefully finish priming Nicks car..
then John is leaving for California (will take him about 12-13 hours.. and then he will be back..
And then Sunday~ John has family that has come in and we haven't seen them since his brother got married.. about 6 years ago..
Pretty busy..
what is everyone else doing..
I haven't heard of that, Kimberley, but I'm kind-of out of the adoption loop...it sounds horrible, though.
Kim, are you working today?
Nikki.. I work at 7.. have to leave in about 25 minutes...
It is actually only 5:40 here
Wow Kim, you guys have a super busy weekend.
Kimberley~ speaking of my Secret Buddy...
She is the BEST..
You matched me with a WOnderful lady..
THANKS..
When are the kids on Spring Break..??
Mine had theirs last week..
Oops. OK, so you ARE working.
We are coloring Easter eggs today and probably going out to get Lily's Easter basket so I can fill it with goodies (I'm way behind!)
Tomorrow we have church and then lunch at my parents' house...then I work at 2:30. It just wouldn't be a holiday if I didn't have to work!
Our Spring Break isn't until the 2nd week in April.
We are going to Panama City to visit with my SIL.
I'm back.
Kimberley, I did hear about that agency. I read it on that Victorian blog (she has three sons, but I don't know which blog).
How awful for all of those clients.
Where do you work at Nikki?
Katie is going on her first Easter Egg hunt in about an hour and a half.
I sure hope it's inside!
Then we'll color our eggs later this afternoon/evening. It's funny, my boys still enjoy doing eggs (all four of them!). Last year I didn't get to color any, and they complained when the white eggs were gone!
Yes, Lori at A Journey to our Daughter. I feel so sorry for her because I know how worried she is about it.
I was just curious about what is going to happen? I'm sure that her agency is working hard to get accredited.
Kelly,
I'm surprised that our church doesn't do an Easter Egg hunt.
I work at a restaurant. I'm a server. It has been the perfect job for me while Lily has been young-but it's about time for a change. I just enrolled Lily in preschool for the fall...and I have a new job lined up for myself, hopefully.
Well, I have to go. Lily is on my lap waiting not-so-patiently for her turn on the computer.
(she likes your "party shoes" aka Redmaryjanes!!!hehe)
Wishing you all a wonderful, blessed Easter and I'll chat with you later!
I don't know what agencies have to do to become Hague accredited, but it seems like the families that were already in the process when the Hague becomes in effect shouldn't be penalized because their agency isn't accredited. I wonder if there is more to this story.
Kimberley~ out of the blue question...
But you have a boat.does your husband change the oil or does he take it in to have it changed..
We need to change ours for the first time.. so we can take it out this year.. and it is a couple hundred dollars to have someone change it..
But he thinks you can buy some kind of hose/pump.. so that you can do it yourself??
Tell Lily that I think she has great taste in shoes.
I wish that I could work part-time or something like that, but it doesn't match with our bills.
Have a wonderful Easter Nikki!
Good morning, all.
Just popping in and out...my alter-ego Cinderella and I will be flogging ourselves this morning with cleaning paraphernalia to help us usher in Spring...oh, the joys!
Also ~ did you find the name of the cd...
Or does anyone have any idea's for a small gift..
I am meeting my Secret Pal next weekend.. I can not tell her that I am her SP until June.. but it will be fun..
First time meeting someone in the adoption
I don't know why ABC doesn't do an egg hunt.
I remember one year when T was about 3, all of the kids in Discovery Village (the church was MUCH smaller then!) brought home HOMEMADE Celebration Eggs. That was amazing.
Bye Nikki..
HELLO LILY!!!!
We just got our boat last year and we had the oil changed when it was winterized.
Good Morning Glinda, how are you?
I am wonderful; the sun is shining and it's going to be a beautiful day.
How are you?
Loved the Starfish pictures, I think I saw some polkadots that I sent to those sweet ones.
Kim,
We still can't find the case to the CD. I'm so sorry.
Tim says you can change the oil yourself because most likely your boat engine is a car engine too, but he doesn't know how to get up under it.
I didn't expect to see any photos yet because Amanda told me she was trying to get things together to do a speaking engagement in Shanghai to raise money for surgeries.
But I see that she did some of the Easter photos done.
One of the girls is in a dress I sent, so that's pretty cool.
I have an idea for a lovely gift -- it's a music CD (well, only two songs, so at $10 it's rather expensive) but the song "Halfway around the world" is amazing -- the other side is a lullaby.
The 1st line of the chorus to the first song is:
If I have to go halfway around the world to meet you, I will
It was written and is performed by China AM Patty Stevenson Craig. I'll see if I can find a link so you can hear the song. I know Holt Adoptions uses this song on their adoption video. It's beautiful.
Kim,
That is cool that you are meeting someone from blogland! I have met 3 people so far and it's been a really great experience.
Kim tell Tim THANK YOU..
Well I am off to work..
Have a Great Morning Chat..
WIsh I could stay..
Have a GREAT EASTER...
Glinda,
I am doing really well...except for the snow. We were well on our way to Spring and then got blasted last night. So, it's winter wonderland again.
I don't know what we're doing this weekend. We have no plans, so most likely we will be doing some house cleaning too.
I need to sort through my closet and clear out what I don't wear anymore.
Happy Easter everyone.
I must go now, the dust bunnies are taunting me...
P.S.
Kim, I love the Happy Keaster on your sidebar ;)
Have a great day at work Kim!
Okay, if you're interested, click on the little video screen at the bottom left hand corner of the Holt Int'l homepage. The song starts about 60 seconds into the video.

If this link doesn't work (it's very long), just look up Holt Adoptions and go to their home page to find it that way.
Morning everyone.
Karen
Thank you Kelly...
Can you send me the link to jbison@cox.net...
Thank you..
We are going to our first FCC-AZ waiting families event..
It is on May 3...
at the chandler Center for the Arts...
Chinese Art Academy Spring Performance and Art Show..
We are pretty excited...
Have not really got involved due to the long wait..even though the kids are older.. they still don't understand why it takes so long..
THey keep saying they should have their sister here now..
But what can you do..
Well need to go to work..
Have a Great Day..
Thanks Glinda,
Those baby buns make me smile every time I see them.
Good Luck with the Spring Clean!
Have a great day Kim!
Good Morning Karen!
Kelly, where in AZ does Kim live? It'd be neat if it isn't too far from Nannette.
'Morning Kimberley.
Still figuing out why I'm supposed to be here today. (I don't set my alarm... figure if I am suppose to chat, I'll wake up without it. If not, I'll get some sleep. Well, here I am!)
Well Karen,
I'm glad you are here! We missed while you were in Honduras. What an amazing adventure you had.
Hey Karen! You're up so early.
I don't know where Kim & John live -- do you, Kimberley? It would be lovely for Nanette to meet Kim, I agree.
So I just visited a travelogue blog of a family on a heritage tour with their two Chinese Daughters. It is amazing. They just left the older daughter's province, on the way to the younger daughters'. The younger girl is from Ella's CWI, so they took a letter and some pictures of our family to give to the director and nannies (and hopefully will be able to get pictures and video of our sweet baby girl for us!).
It was a great trip.
Other than Monday, every day flew by. Am already looking forward to going again next year.
Kelly,
I think that Rose at Starfish is wearing a dress you sent.
My blog address book is out in the van because I'm sending some of Eli's clothes he's outgrown to Verna for Noah. And I'd run out there if there wasn't a ton of snow, but I'm not running out in my robe in this weather : )
Kel, ANY word on possible TA since I spoke with you the other day?
Am still available to tag along if you need/want another adult this time. (any idea if it's two weeks or three this time. Two might be doable... three, I may have enough time built back up.)
My computer keeps freezing up. Not sure why.
Maybe it's because it's SO DARN COLD HERE!!
ooops. meant "may not". It's early
I am hoping this will snow will melt quickly and that this is the last of it.
Kel, mine keeps freezing up too, and it's NOT that cold here. No snow, weather is supposed to be nice today. Of course, it's supposed to rain tomorrow.
Karen,
No word. No news is no news. Frustrating, to be sure.
According to other families time schedules, we could anticipate receiving LOA (the next step) anywhere from April 29 - July 5 or so. TA comes about 20 days later, and travel another 2-3 weeks after that.
That could put us in China anywhere from the first week of June, to the last week of July.
We would only need to stay two weeks. And yes, you're welcome to come, especially if we bring any of the kids (that all depends on when we could travel, but they can't miss the last part of school). So...we wait.
This is pretty amazing. I'm sitting at the kitchen table, Katie is beside me, eating breakfast. One of the boys (still in bed, upstairs) just coughed. Katie immediately pinpointed the correct boy and said "K coughing" -- seconds later, she heard someone else clear his throat and said "T coughing, T coming!"
I understand that there is a lot of coordination that needs to be done in China for your to be able to go and get everything done that is needed while you are there, but it sure seems to take a long time.
Kelly,
She's smart!
Good Morning Ladies, I am so sorry that most of you are snowed in again. I won't even tell you what I see and feel looking out my window.
Kimberly you have done such an awesome thing, I just can't tell you enough. And I will make a donation to the postage fund.
I can't stay long, I have to leave in about 30 minutes and I am still not even dressed. I have just been catching up on everything.
By then, I should have more than enough vacation time earned. Wish I could just use sick time. I have 12 weeks of sick time saved up.
Good Morning Kristy!
Where are you off to today?
Well ACTUALLY I have to go get my nails done!!!! hehehehe
You know the important things in life!!!
12 weeks of sick time? And they won't let you convert it or even "buy it back" from you?
Holy cow.
Kristy, now THATS a good reason to be out of the house so early.
Kel, how is Justin doing with all this snow? Is the poor boy getting ANY sleep? He wasn't handling it too well over Christmas.
We're heading off in a bit for the big egg hunt. Katie keeps calling it a "treasure hunt" (I hope she's not disappointed!).
After that, we're heading over to Toys R Us to buy her a bike. No, she can't use it now, but eventually this snow will melt and she will be able to.
I haven't had my nails done all winter, but I think I'm going to have acrylics put back on next week for the summer.
Karen,
Justin got a nice long break between the last couple of snows. From the last few days of February until yesterday we had no snow fall to speak of.
We'll see him tomorrow for Easter Sunday brunch.
What are your plans?
Good morning! I wish I could stay and chat, but we're going to try to take the girls to the Easter Village at Purina Farms, and it's about an hour drive--so we have to get going! Hopefully, we'll get there with no problems (lots of flooding around here), and I'll have some good pictures to show for it later on today. I'll miss chatting with you, and hope to be back next week! have a happy, blessed Easter, everyone!
I never ever have my nails done on saturday because little nail girl is always so busyon saturdays, but all week we have been on spring break so I have been raking leaves, actually enough to fill a football stadium and I have also been cutting down some trees, so my hands look to say the least a little rugged, and we just can't have that for Easter!!!
Oh my...Katie's getting a new bike, what fun!
Have a nice day Kelley!
No conversion. They will cash it out for us at 25% of value should we quit or retire. We are hoping someone will get that changed in the contract. Oh wait, what contract? We haven't had one since 2006. If/when we ever do get a current contract, we'll immediately have to go into negotiations for the 2009 version.
The retro check should be a tidy chunk of change.... even after taxes.
Have fun Kelley! What a great plan for your day.
Well, then, Katie is right (she smart!). Toys R Us is the Treasure Hunt!
am going to Lisa's Grandma's for Easter.
I was hoping this snow would miss us and I could get out and clean up my flower garden a little bit, but that's not happening this weekend. If it hits the high 40's like it's supposed to next week, I may be able to get it done next weekend.
You guys should leave MI and come out where there's lots of snow if you want to drive an hour, but you don't have to deal with it in your yard, and your driveway.
Kel, are the boys getting colds or just coughing.
Sorry, ladies, I was AWOL for a minute (watching the Jaw Dropping Swan Lake video Kristy mentioned on one of her blogging buddies' sites).
Now, I have to do something with the girls hair -- what a mess it is! She has to look pretty for the egg hunt!
BTW, the only reason she's getting a bike today is because TRU has coupons for $10 off all bikes -- and the coupons are only good through today. Gotta strike while the iron's hot, you know!
And Kimberley, wha't up with your boys? Congrats to Zach again on the championship game.
This winter has just been so brutal. So......Karen, will we be having a visitor this Saturday???
Anyone dropping by the chat???
Too cute...
Katie just climbed up to the table and opened Daddy's computer. She immediately started "typing" and shouted "Like Mama!"
Oops, I think maybe I spend a little too much time on the computer!
Oh, Kel, I'm hoping you get your LOA on April 29th. It'd be like a Birthday Present FROM Grandma
The boys are with their Dad this next week. The hockey tournament was a lot of fun and I am so proud of their team. When they first started out the season, they did not play well together at all and then something just clicked and they started winning.
No, we've all been thankfully free of illness this winter! I think it was just an early morning cough.
So, is R going to be making a visit to the Chat today?
I am off to the shower, I hope all of you have a very blessed Easter!!! I will "see" all of you this week in blogland!!
Love and blessings, Kristy
That swan lake video is unbelievable isn't it? I've never seen anything like it. I wouldn't even believe that was possible if I hadn't seen it.
Katie is a GREAT mimic! Wonder why she always walks around with a phone tucked between her ear and chin too!!!!
Kimberley, there MAY be a quiet set of eyes here. He initmated he'd be checking it out. So, why not say hi to him just in case. If he doesn't read it in real time, he'll probably come check it out later.
Have a great time Kristy!
Katie is way too cute.
Are you guys going to make the 9:20am tomorrow?
Bye Kristy! Choose a great color for your nails!
I watched that video last week.
The ballerina does a great job in that video, true. But I was also amazed at the strength and control the guy holding her had!
Amd I loved the movements of the frogs!!! they looked fun.
I agree, the whole thing was fabulous. And yes, the man holding her up was incredible too. I have never seen anything like it.
Hey R! Good morning, if you're here.
I think Steffi has the right idea, being in Maui this week. She doesn't have to deal with the snow you got dumped with.
pardon the typo in the post a few back. I meant 'intimatated'
Yeah, she left yesterday and missed the whole thing. They go to Maui every year for 2 weeks.
Hello there R, hope all is well with you. You know that one of these Saturdays you are going to have to drop us a line : )
Good Morning Everyone! I don't have much time this morning, but I wanted to make sure I checked in to wish you all a very Happy & Blessed Easter!!
I just checked out those ADORABLE Starfish babies!!! SOOOO CUTE!!! I want to scoop that little Breanna right up! ;)
In a few minutes we're going to color our eggs...I love doing that...this is the first year I think Kiara will really appreciate it since she's 3 now...last year not so much...lol!
Well, gotta run, have a WONDERFUL day everyone!!
Patricia/NYC
It's been a very mellow morning on the chat today.
and I STILL spelled the word wrong!!! Intimated. There.
I told you, it's too early to be awake on a Saturday!!!!
Don't know if he'll 'surface'. He prefers being in stealth mode.
Good Morning Ladies,
Sorry I haven't had time to read through all the comments. I keep getting interupted--imagine that. We are getting snow today AGAIN. It's pretty and the good thing about March snow is that it will be gone in a few days!!
Good Morning Verna!
How are the littles today?
I think it's quiet because it's a holiday weekend. Lot's of people gone, lots of people doing egg hunts, etc.
Yeah, I'll bet you are right Karen. It's kind of nice when it's mellow.
I agree that this has been one of the smallest chats I've seen. We haven' had visits from Amy or Michael or Brian or Meridith or the other Amy, and several others whose names are failing me at the moment who usually pop in.
It makes it easier to follow the thread of the conversation!
The littles are their fiesty selves but right now they are watching LazyTown. Not sure of the draw there. Kind of a weird program but they seem to like it. The kids did have fun in the snow. Glad it will be gone by Tuesday.
We don't have any plans for the weekend. We were going to meet Keith's parents for lunch but they got more snow than we did. At 82 and 75, they don't venture out in it.
Eli likes LazyTown too, it's kind of weird but he's drawn to it like a magnet.
Never heard of Lazy Town. Wouldn't mind living there though. Kick back and do nothing. uh huh, I could do that.
Verna,
Did Laura Nipper get in touch with you about a shower for Crystal and Savannah? She asked me some questions but then I haven't heard if it's a go or not.
Okay, I'm gonna go do some reading and work on fixing myself before I have to shuttle at the Easter Pageants this afternoon.
Am going to go listen to music tonight.
Have a great weekend. Happy Easter. Isn't it unfathomable that God would love us enough to sacrifice His Son, and that Christ loved us enough to be sacrificed. Wow.
I need to go to Lazy Town too. But I don't see that happening. This house needs an overhaul. And I have to clean out my closet and drawers and give some things away.
Have a wonderful Easter Karen. And yes, it is amazing. I think that Good Friday doesn't get its share of attention. I love Easter, but to me Good Friday is when I really ponder the magnitude of what happened.
Agreed.
RMJ,
Yes, Laura got hold of me and we are working on the shower stuff. It is set for April 12 -- no times yet.
As for Lazy Town, you can't explain that program very well, You kind of have to see it to get it. It does promote activity--well as much activity as a TV program can promote considering you are inside watching TV to get the message. ;)
Kelly,
I love Katie's picture in her Kimberley dress on Robin's blog.
That sounds great. I look forward to doing a little shopping for Savannah.
It looks like Noah is adjusting really well.
If by adjusting you mean learning to hold his own, then yes ;)
I think I have 2 onlys on my hands. Noah's foster brother was adopted last summer. So, unless the foster Grandma got another child, he was there alone.
goodmorning ladies
Hi there Chrissie,
How are you?
Eli is kind of an only too because his brothers and sister are so much older than him.
Im dong good...I'm on day 20 of the flu...but it has been a blessing as well cause since I have been home sick I have been able to corespond easier to Crystal in Malawi.
Wow, 20 days with the flu?
I feel sorry for you.
I have been following on Crystal's blog and it looks like everything is going well.
Okay I am all caught up. Yes the flu has been wicked in San Diego this year. One of these days I know I will be better, thanking God it is only temporary. So many people suffer from chronic or terminal illness....I really have no reason to complain.
Savannah-Hope is awesome. Her attachment to Crystal has been supernatural and a complete answer to prayer. She had been experienceing extreme stranger anxiety and is terrified of white people, we weren't sure how she woudl react. But is as if she has known Crystal as her mommy for her whole life. God is so good!
good morning ladies. love the starfish photos the babies are so cute.
Good morning Laura. Its a bummer we miss so much by being out here on the west coast. Seems like everyone is already gone.
Good Morning Laura! I was just asking Verna about the baby shower plans for Crystal.
Verna,
Are you still here? I saw the blog baby shower template and advertisement. They are so adorable. Thank you so much. I think Laura and I decided on 8am PST for the blog shower. Do you think that would be okay? Or should Laura and I wake up extra early?
That is incredible that she is so open to Crystal. They look wonderful together in the pictures I am seeing on her blog.
I was just talking with Chrissie about it last night. We are going to have it on 4/12. I am excited about hosting it. Should be fun.
I don't know if Verna is still on or not.
I would not worry about waking up extra early. What time are you thinking of doing it?
We finally got a new computer so I can keep up with the whole blogging thing. Kimberly do you thing 8am pacific time is okay to start it?
Kim
Thanks for all your advice on the baby shower. The info was very helpful!
I am getting ready to call Crystal in the next few minutes. I can't wait to see how her day went. She was supposed to go through all of Savannah's belongings and take an inventory so I could get a better idea of what she needs. She is much smaller than we thought. Which is a huge blessing since we thought she was coming home in November and had lots of tiny things bought and given to her. They maybe a bit warm but she can always trade out the turtnecks and put onesies under the jumpers.
When I have done the showers, it's been kind of an open house type of thing. I haven't committed people to a specific timeframe.
If you want to do that, I'd probably start at about 10am, otherwise the west coasters won't be up. How long are you going to run it for?
You asked me about the shower prizes. I would have maybe 5 small prizes. I have given away books and brown eyed girl shirts, things like that that are small and won't cost a lot to mail out.
It's hard to know what the turn-out will be. I have had some smaller showers and some that got really big with almost 50 women participating.
The key is to get Verna's sidebar graphics out and people to do posts on their blogs to promote the shower.
Wow, tell her hello from all of us!
Well know that we have decided on a time frame. I will let Verna know and we can start promoting the shower. I will do a post on my blog and then go from there.
Yeah we were thinking 8am PST so that would be about 10am for most of the other bloggers.
I am looking forward to the shower as a way people can talk to Crystal and let her know they were following along on the blog and tell her how cute Savannah is, etc. I am all of her blogging for her while she is gone, so it will be fun for her to get to chat about her baby first hand.
Thanks for being willing to do a post about it on your blog Kim. The more people that know about the shower the better. :) Should be fun to shop for the little prizes to.
I am thrilled that you guys are doing it. You will have a lot of fun. And it will be something great for Crystal to come home to. She and Savannah should definitely be celebrated.
I will definitely do a post and put it on my sidebar. I think it's great. I'll do a post for it on a Saturday Morning Chat so that more people will see it and I'll mail out the sidebar graphic to anyone who wants it. You ladies can be there too to tell everyone what you are going to do.
Does that sound good?
It's really slow on the chat today though.
I will do a post about it starting on Monday. That way I am not over shadowing Easter. I know you get a lot of traffic on your blog so that will help spread the word. :)
That sounds awesome. I am sure people are busy with Easter plans today.
Gwen said she would promote it on her blog as well.
Actually my traffic went down by half when I started the Starfish Supply Raiser. And it's slowly been picking up again since it ended in Feb.
Isn't that strange?
Oh yeah, Gwen will promote it, so will Verna and most of the Saturday Morning Chat ladies will too. It will be a big hit. You guys will get a lot of participation.
That is so sad! And a bit suprising. I actually started checking your blog more to see how things were going on the fundraiser. I wish I could have helped.
That is werid that the traffic slowed down??? People didn't want to give?
Are you doing it on a Saturday morning? I may have to close down the chat and direct everyone to the shower, since I'll be at the shower for sure!
People gave a lot. I only thought that maybe 12 families would join in and 45 did.
But the traffic on the blog went way down. It was strange.
Yes the shower is on a Sat so that would be great if you just direct everyone over after the chat room. Oh I am getting more excited about all of this. :)
It will be on a Saturday but I dont think you have to close down the chat people can jump back and forth. But its up to you. I am excited about the shower. I pulled up the old posts to see Maggie and Gwens shower...and am getting more excited.
I'm here but had to vacuum the family room.
Chrissie--I'm glad you liked the ad and header. 8AM PST sounds good--I'll put that on the ad and send it to you so you can get it out to folks to post it.
I love talking to you Chrissie. I think you life is so interesting. Very meaningful. I know that my life as a Mom is very important. But I look at people like you and Amanda at Starfish and I feel like you guys are really making a huge difference in the world.
Wow 45 families that is amazing and for such a great cause. I bet Amanda was thrilled.
Okay ladies I am off to take a shower and get ready for a little Easter Egg hunt with the kids at the rec center. Morgan has never really done a real Easter Egg hunt before.
I feel like if I can support you guys and the things that you are doing that in a small way I am enabling you to change the world one child at a time.
Hi Verna. Thanks for the help with the Header and side bar.
It's going to be a lot of fun. I have really enjoyed the showers in the past. This will be great for everyone. Plus, this is our first baby from Africa in the group so that is special.
Verna,
Can I see what you did?
Just called Crystal. She just sat down to eat dinner so I am gunna call her back in 20 minutes. They have electricity right now so they get to have a hot dinner.
I love that about you Kimberly. You are making a huge difference in the world through blogland. It is great to see how the Lord moves in your life.
I just emailed you the link. :)Its very cute.
Thanks for the kind words Verna. God just needs willing vessels like you were for Amanda. Just wish there was more we could do. The needs of the orphans around the world can be so overwhelming. I can't tell you how hard it has been to be here in the States while Crystal is in Malawi. I am so glad she is able to see where my heart is....but I wish I was there with her.
She would tell you though that I have been doing a pretty good job at bossing them around and directing the show from here....haha.
oops I meant kind words from Kim.
Verna...I couldn't be happier with the templates and ad. Can't thank you enough!
Those are darling!
I won't be around on April 12th though, we will be driving back to Michigan from Florida at the end of our Spring Break.
I will post it on Friday night before though so it will be up all day Saturday on the 12th.
I just think its great how first I knew Gwen & Verna, then Laura, then Crystal and now you Chrissie.
So many people are tied to each other in all of this.
And I know Crystal's Mom too now.
Awh so bummed you wont be around that day. :(
Oh no! Kim, you can't be there. Hm maybe we should change the date. I really want you to be able to come. I'll have to talk to Laura and then see if it is too hard for Verna to change it on the template. Crystal was telling me she was hoping to do Amy's birthday party that day and has a small group bowling activity that night...another day might work better for her too. hm...I'll have to see.
Yeah, me too. But I'll get her registry info from you and get a gift out to her before we go. I still will do some posts while I'm in Florida, so I'll be able to help get the word out.
Yeah I thinks it pretty cool. Okay ladies happy Easter and enjoy your Saturday.
Oh, you guys don't have to do that for me. That's ok. I will be gone the weekend before too driving down to Florida, so it will really push it out if you wait for me. I'll post it on the 12th and send her a gift before I leave. : )
