Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group!

Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group.

Special Announcement! Today I want to let you all know about a new blog that has been created by Becky at 'Lady In Waiting Blog Design' to help families who are adopting showcase things that they are selling to raise money for their adoption. It is located at www.adoptionfundraisers.blogspot.com, and the blog is called 'Touching Lives One At A Time'. There is a link on my sidebar and I would be happy to give it to you today if you would like it. Please support these families, and if you are selling something to raise money for your child, please let Becky know and she will add you to the blog.

Good morning my friend. I am not staying as I am off to the gym and then a 9:30 appointment for a much needed hair trim. Hope this mornings chat is a good one. I will check back later to see the scoop.

thank you again, Kimberley for all you have done for Starfish.

Lea

PS. please say hello to everyone for me!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Jonni,
How are you?

redmaryjanes said...

We're good, the sun is just coming up and I'm hoping the hubs is starting a pot of coffee.
How is little Sofia?

JMCS said...

We are doing much better today! Sofia has finally gotten rid of her cold and chest congestion and I am starting to feel better, unfortunately, John is still pretty sick. My mom came in from out of town to help us....thank goodness! We needed all the help we could get this week (lol). I hope the chat is fun this morning. I am running downstairs to go help my mom, but just wanted to say good morning to you sunshine. I will also check in later...

Hugs,
Jonni
:)

JMCS said...

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, since Sofia strted walking on Tuesday, there is NO SLOWING HER DOWN! :) Take care my friend.

redmaryjanes said...

Hang in there Jonni. I know how it is when there is sickness in the house.

Steffie B. said...

Good morning girl...just wanted to say hi and say that I'm sorry I have not been by lately. There is so much going on right now....hope you have a relaxing weekend.

Hugs,
S*

redmaryjanes said...

Steffie,
I know that you are having issues with your neck and back. I hope that you are feeling a little better today. I think we're going to take Eli to the children's museum to see the Bob the Builder display.

Kelley said...

Hi, Kimberley!

I'm here early for a little while...Tom is making his Saturday pancakes for us, and Chloe is drinking her milk...

It's great to be here before there are 200 comments to catch up on! :)

redmaryjanes said...

Hi Kelley,
Yeah, the past two weeks have been really busy here, but today seems like a quiet chat morning.
I'm drinking some coffee, but I'm hoping that the hubs will make something good for breakfast.

Ann said...

We got the call!!! We got the CAll!! We got the call!!!

redmaryjanes said...

I loved seeing all of the things that you brought back for Chloe from China.

kerri said...

Good morning Kimberley,
We are having a lazy morning, trying to be quiet because hubby worked nights last night. It's hubby birthday today so it's party time at Grandma's house, so good food and great times ahead.
Do you have plans today?

redmaryjanes said...

ANN!!

No way!!
I knew you were next line and I keep checking!

Well, boy or girl? how old? where are they? when can you go to bring them home????

Kelley said...

I don't think it will be too quiet! :) There are lots of folks out there (like me) who truly look forward to the chat each week.

I have been so amazed by all of the fantastic Starfish donations! It's been so much fun to see all of the pictures; you've had so many packages! It must seem like Christmas at your house; and knowing that all of those things are going to those sweet little ones must make you feel so good!

Kelley said...

Ann,

HOORAY!!!!! HOORAY!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!! That is the best news!!!!!!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Kerri,
Happy Birthday to the hubs! I would like to take Eli to the children's museum today, there is a Bob the Builder display going on there.

Kelley said...

Kerri, your posts have been awesome this week! What a terrific family you have!

Ann said...

Our agency kept telling us that we would get a boy since we didn't pref. gender...imagine our shock when they told us it's a GIRL!!!!!!

She was born November 3,2007. Her name is Nien-Tzu. She's healthy. As of two days ago she was 13.86 pounds. We anticipate photos in 2-4 weeks. Taiwans program is different, so now we have more paperwork(the second part of the dossier), then court. So we are thinking about 6 months total. Fall. I hope early fall!!!

Ann said...

I couldn't wait to head over here to tell you!!

Kelley said...

Ann,

How exciting!!! That is just fantastic!!

redmaryjanes said...

I just went over to your blog Ann!! Congratulations. I am so happy for you and your husband. You have waited for such a long time. Now, it's time for some serious shopping!

redmaryjanes said...

I am so glad to get some great news like that! We all need to hear it and see some babies come home. It keeps the rest of us going.

Unknown said...

good morning friends..let me catch up

kerri said...

Ann,
Our friends have their paperwork in for Tiawan. They are waiting for a referral. How long was it for your referral once your paper were filed?
Congrats again Mom!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Kerri,
Those family photos on your blog are gorgeous!

Kelley said...

Hi, Amy!

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,
We have a new Mom on the chat, Ann just got the call for her little girl!

Unknown said...

Congrats Ann, What a great week. Surprise referrals everywhere. There is a blog out there that got their Ethiopian referral this week as well..woohoo!

Kelley said...

I love the time of the month when referrals come out! It is so much fun to see everyone's excitement...and then the pictures!

redmaryjanes said...

Yes, and I love when someone I know gets their referral. Then I can see that there is progress and it kind of refreshes me.

Unknown said...

how has everyone been this week?

redmaryjanes said...

This week was just crazy at work, but we are all healthy and the sun is shining, so I'm counting my blessings.

Kelley said...

There is a world of difference between how time passes when you're waiting for your referral and your travel time, and then the way it passes when you get home...it never ceases to amaze me!

Unknown said...

todays our 10 month LIDversary! Can anyone tell where I can get a cute graphic or anything?

Cant find anything on google

Kelley said...

You know, Amy, I have seen so many great graphics on people's blogs...but I have no idea where they come from.

10 months down--HOORAY!!!

Ann said...

kerri,
The wait times vary depending on what program your friends are in. We are in a birthmother program, where the birthmother is involved in the process choosing the AFamily. We had to write the letter and send a photoalbum. We waited 1 year 11 months 1 week and 5 days(but we weren't counting)
If you're friends are in the nonbirthmother program out of a different orphanage the wait is usually shorter, although Taiwan's program is getting inundated right now and their wait has increased. I know of families in that program that are at a year already, but anticipating a referral soon.

Kim said...

GOOD MORNING...
I guess I am late...
I am going to see what all of your amazing women have been chatting about...

kerri said...

Yes, I love to see those referrals come in, it lightens my heart.
I love the babies coming home.
Thanks for commenting on the photos Kimberley, I love the one of Hubby and girls.
Jonni, I want to send get better wishes out to you, hope your back on your feet soon, glad you have some help from your Mom. ;)

Kelley said...

Good morning, Kim!

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,
I would give you my 10 month graphic that Verna made me, but it has a Christmas tree on it.

redmaryjanes said...

I have a great 11 month one you can use.

Unknown said...

Was just hoping to find something a bit more creative!!!

Love referrals, of any country..Its sooo neat to see a family become a family

Kim said...

Congratulations Ann....
How exciting...

kerri said...

Thanks Ann!
I just run over to your blog, reading your post about the call,it gave me goosebumps, beautifully written. I remember getting the call for Jillian, I actually sat down on the floor to talk because it felt like my legs were about to give out, LOL.

Ann said...

Amy
Congrats on 10 months. I just went back to look at our 10 month post. You're right, the graphic wasn't one of my favorites, but I did get it off of google images.

Ann

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Kim,
I absolutely love that Sophia hairbow you sent! I can't believe that you got her name on it. I will have her picture taken with it for sure. And your box was so cute I didn't want to open it.

redmaryjanes said...

Some moron keeps trying to put porn links on my blog.

Unknown said...

speaking of verna, that sweet boy is just precious

Kim said...

Happy 10 months Amy.. we are coming up right behind you...
I think I am caught up with everyone now..
Kim~ LOVE all the stuff you have been getting for the kids..
This has really turned out Great...
Eli will have fun today at Bob the Builder..

Kelley said...

Kimberley, that was the first time I've ever seen that pop up...and I knew better than to click on it. Do you delete those? If you do, you're FAST! Good for you! Why do people feel like they need to do that?!?

Kim said...

I can't wait to see the picture of Sophia in her hairbow... I just loved those hairbows.. I am going to have to get Isabella one..

Kelley said...

I have loved seeing Verna's blog lately with her darling pictures and stories!!! What a cutie she has!

redmaryjanes said...

The Starfish Supply Raiser has been just unbelievable. I never dreamed that so many families would join in. And I never dreamed that such amazing things would be sent. I'm going to do a status post today after the chat. I think that Amanda is going to be in good shape for the rest of the year. We may need more summer items though, most of what I have is for winter. Also, I think we may need more smaller sizes 0-3 months and 6-9 months, but boxes are still coming so I'm not sure yet.

Kim said...

You are right about little Noah...
He is soooo adorable..
I just love checking their blog every day..

redmaryjanes said...

Verna's little Noah is so handsome. And it looks like everything has been going very well for them.
I just love her. She helps me so much with this blog.

Kelley said...

Oh Kimberley, I am so glad to hear you say that you needed some smaller sizes! After I bought my outfits, I looked at your list again and worried that I bought things that were too small! Maybe I can go back out and surprise you with another box of goodies! I saw some great sales last week!

Unknown said...

Our friends karen and bruce are in China as well getting Micah!

they are at www.ladmans.blogspot.com
There blogs name is Ladmans Chinese takeout

Unknown said...

seriosly, is it that hard to find a graphic of the number 10...geesh
I just love chatting with you ladies

redmaryjanes said...

I just know that the children are usually quite young and small when she gets them. And we are getting a lot of 12-2T sizes coming in which she asked for, but I'm sure that she will need some smaller sizes too.
She was really happy in her last e-mail to me and said she will take whatever we send.

Unknown said...

A coworker asked me last night why all adopted Chinese babies are named Mia or Lily?
I had no answer for that one

redmaryjanes said...

I can think of quite a few Mia's, but only one Lily.

redmaryjanes said...

Any good baby names this week Amy?

redmaryjanes said...

Kelley,
I delete those links as soon as I see them. I think it's the same person, they just change their name from time to time. I don't understand it. It is very obvious what my blog is about and why people come here and it has nothing to do with porn.
And this has been going on for about 2 weeks now, so it's like they are targeting me for some reason.
I just delete it.

Unknown said...

NO but we had a row of Belle and Ariels

and then there was a Monica, Rachel and Phoebe (triplets)

oh dear

Ann said...

I hear you girls. I love the names Mia and Maya, but it does seem that it's a very popular name.

redmaryjanes said...

Kerri,
I like one of the photos of you and your husband and I like the one with your hubs and the girls with the kiss. Very precious.

redmaryjanes said...

I love the triplet names.
Too funny! They'll be 'friends' yeah..I know that was corny.

redmaryjanes said...

Ann,
Do you have a list of girls names you are choosing from?
Not that I'm nosey about the name...but I AM

Kim said...

Well I ladies.. it has been GREAT as always..
I am off to good ole work..
Have a WONDERFUL Weekend..

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Kim.
Any word on that other job?

redmaryjanes said...

Hello?
It got really quiet.

Ann said...

We had always thought we would name a girl Kierstin Nicole, but at this point we are renegotiating. I was thinking Claire, but I think the talks start on Monday when hubby gets back into town.

I know that a lot of people keep part of their birth name. Is this traditional and is it disrespectful if you don't.

Unknown said...

oh Im still here....planning somthing fun., doing laundry and looking for a number 10 graphic

Nikki said...

Good morning Ladies! As usual, I'm a bit late to the party...
Congrats on getting "the call" Ann! that is so exciting!
I'm gonna check out your blog. I'm also gonna check out Kerri's to see what photos ya'll are talking about.
XO

Kelley said...

I'm still here, too! I put my computer in "hibernate" mode for a little while so we could eat breakfast...now Chloe is listening to her favorite CD and squeaking her squeaky books...so I'm back!

Kelley said...

On the topic of names...at the time we picked "Chloe" it was a really popular choice, and it seemed that there were lots of Chinese babies being named Chloe too. On the Chinese Adoption stories website, you can see lots of popular names...but my thought is that you should pick the name that you like, regardless of how popular it is.

redmaryjanes said...

I like Kierstin and Claire and they both sound nice with Nicole.
My daughter will be Sophia Jane and then I will add part of her given name at the orphanage, so she will have 2 middle names.
I am doing it because I have a neighbor girl, she is in her 20's, so not really a girl who was adopted from Korea, and she wishes that her mother had kept part of her original name.
I think it is entirely up to you guys though.

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Nikki! How are you? I love the bows you sent for Sophia. Thank you so much! The bow swap turned out really great.

Unknown said...

I love sophia jane..We have a friend who kept having boys but had mackenzie jane save..too bad we have a niece named Janie..

LynnMarie it is!

Unknown said...

ok found a graphic and posted.yippee!

Kelley said...

Ann, my stepdaughter is Kiersten Eliene. I love her name...but she does have problems getting people to pronounce it correctly. She gets called Kristin and Kirsten quite often. But I think she likes her name a lot!

redmaryjanes said...

I agree with Kelley, you should name your child a name that you love.
I only know of one other Chloe besides yours Kelley.

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,
That graphic looks great! I love Sesame Street.

k1 said...

Morning, Everyone. Did you get started early or something? It's only quarter after 9 MI time and there're over 80 comments already???

jennifer said...

Hi Ladies,

I'm just checking in. We're staying close to home today. Richard had a "procedure" yesterday (if you know what I mean). The only other baby that will be showing up in this house will be from China!

I think the triplet's names are hysterical!!! Too funny.

Ann said...

I love the name Sophie, but a friend of mine has a little girl name Sopie.

We are the last of our family and friends to have child, so it seems like all the names we like are taken.LOL

Kelley said...

Kimberley, don't get me going listing all of the Chloes...there's an extensive list, and they are all beautiful, sweet girls, too!

I never anticipated that some people would want to call Chloe "Chlo" though...Tom and I don't like that. My advice to everyone would be to really carefully consider the nicknames that might go with your name choice. Tom practiced saying "Chloe Lauren" in a stern tone...so that he would know how it would sound when she was in trouble. :)

Amy, I love your graphic choice!!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Jennifer,

Yes, I know the 'proceedure' you are speaking of.
Do you have a bag of peas in your freezer?

Unknown said...

Ann, I know how you feel about having the good names taken. I feel bad when I saw that out loud and sometimes I just want to use a name I love even if other relatives have used it..

I know thats not nice but oh well

haha

jennifer said...

Kelley-
My husband practiced saying our boys' names like he was a sports announcer to make sure they would sound right when they were in the big leagues!

k1 said...

Congratulations, Ann.

K1 Karen

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning K1/Karen!
We did get started kind of early. I'm glad you are up and here.
I'll miss your sister this morning. She went on the Disney Cruise and didn't take me with her...I see she didn't take you either.

jennifer said...

Kimberley-

Oh, yes, we have the ice packs and pain meds flowing. He's actually not complaining at all. He feels bad that I've been running crazy doing everything.

Kelley said...

Jennifer, that's too funny! But I do think you should practice saying it lots of different ways.

We're going to name our new baby Holly Kathleen. A long time ago, I knew of a woman who named her little one Holly because it would sound good as "Grandma Holly." Imagine!

k1 said...

Nope, she didn't take me either. That's okay. I head for Honduras next Saturday morning and I'm not taking her!

My girlfriends and I are going on a Mexican/Caribbean cruise in April and she opted not to come along. She WAS invited though.

Unknown said...

Love the name Holly Kathleen! Thats awesome!!!

redmaryjanes said...

Jennifer,

My man walked bow legged for days...

Kelley said...

Does anyone have "themed names" in their family? I'm thinking of those triplets Amy mentioned...but also same letters, etc. I always think that's interesting.

Nikki said...

Kimberley, I'm glad you liked the bows...that swap was a lot of fun.

I gotta go, though, Lily has been fighting me for the computer for the last 20 minutes. She's persistant!

(P.S. when we chose her name we hadn't heard of ANY OTHER LILYS! It was only AFTER we got home that we saw that the name had become popular. Oh well. We still adore the name and it fits her perfectly.)
Enjoy your weekend!

redmaryjanes said...

Wow,
You are such a traveler Karen. We go to Florida in April for Spring Break, but that's it for our travel plans.
I am trying to save my vacation time in case by some miracle we are chosen for a baby from the SN list this year. There is no maternity leave for adoption where I work.

k1 said...

I'm K1 because I am the eldest of four kids with names starting with K. We are up to K8 (Katie) with the kids now.

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Nikki and I think Lily is the perfect name for your girl!

k1 said...

Kimberley, I'm trying to save mine too in case I do get to go back to China with TB/K3/Kelly whenever they get TA for Ella.

I really want to get back to Italy one of these years, too.

jennifer said...

We have baseball practice tomorrow, so hopefully he'll be able to move around.

My first two boys are Bryce and Braden. I didn't name them that because they started the same, I just didn't have alot of names I liked for boys. The third is Cade. Now I get asked why I changed from the B's. It's a fair question. I think I will name our Chinababy a "C" or "K" name so I will have 2 B's and 2 C's.

The name Holly is so sweet.

k1 said...

Amy, have visits to Michael's blog increased any?

Unknown said...

oh yes and I loved this last post...quite honest

thanks to everyone

amy

Kelley said...

I figured the K's out...it took me awhile though! :) I didn't know you were up to 8! That's fun!

My family's theme is subtle...the names end with an "e" sound. I'm the oldest of four girls...then there's Amy, Tracy, and Lori. I have Chloe...it was rather unintentional until I picked "Holly" to go with the theme. :) We have middle names that end with "n." I'm Kelley Allison, then there's Chloe Lauren, and next Holly Kathleen...and Kiersten has "Eilene." Unintentional again, until I picked Holly's name.

You can tell I spend too much time thinking about these things!

Unknown said...

you guys rock!

Ann said...

That's so funny. My hubby was trying names on, by yelling them as if she's in trouble!! I'm glad he's not the only one.

Unknown said...

i cant wait to tell you guys what I am doing..im almost done..wooohoo

redmaryjanes said...

I don't have themed names, It's always been a struggle getting me and and the husband to agree, so we end up with whatever we can agree on.

k1 said...

My girlfiend Lisa's son is the 14th consecutive male child in his father's family to be named "John".

And, they aren't really kids, but her pets are named after famous people: Nemo Garrison, Cleopatria, Washington, Napolean, Winston, Augustus. The others are named Seraphina and Nara. I don't know if they were famous people or not. Do any of you?

LaLa said...

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. We are hanging out here for a while then taking Annslee rollerskating...they do Wee Skate on Sat mornings so she won't get mowed down (oh, and Daddy either LOL)

The Johnson Family said...

Wow I love the design and thanks so much for putting our hair bows on there it looks great!!

redmaryjanes said...

I did that too with our names Ann. To see if they flowed together well. Because I do use the first and middle names when they are in trouble.

Unknown said...

Did anyone see the movie A Walk to remember? After seeing that I have swarn my first son will be Landon Carter

Unknown said...

wanna know what i just did?

jennifer said...

My husband is Richard, his dad is Richard. Then his mom remarried another Richard. She was very upset that I didn't name Bryce "Richard". I say, enough is enough! Besides, the fact that she wanted me to name him that pretty much meant that I never would!!

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Laura,
Did you get my e-mail on the new blog for people selling thing to raise adoption money? I think you should put your magazine sale on there.

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,

What did you do???
And I read A Walk to Remember but I haven't seen the movie.
I love Nicholas Sparks books.

Kelley said...

Do tell, Amy!

The Johnson Family said...

Jonni I just looked at your blog sofia is beautiful!! I love that name!!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Crystal!
Do you still need that link to your Mom's site?
I will e-mail it to you.

Unknown said...

I just booked a Disney cruise for the entire family and its in just 2 months!

jennifer said...

Laura-

That sound like fun. The first time I took Bryce roller skating, I fell on his head. I truly thought I might have killed him!! I swore I would never skate with them again! I would have been much easier if everyone was going slower.

The Johnson Family said...

Kelley thanks for the invite to your blog last week it is so cute!

jennifer said...

A Disney Cruise sounds wonderful. I would love to do that!

Nancy said...

Good Morning.
We are making waffles and bacon here for breakfast.

Kelley said...

Good for you, Amy!

We're going to WDW (not a cruise) the last week of June...busy time, I know, but I'm on a teacher's schedule, so I'm stuck!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Nancy!
I have to tell you that the bow swap was just fantastic.

Kelley said...

You're very welcome! I love to have readers...it's the drawback of going private. :)

redmaryjanes said...

Crystal,
Have you gotten any new news about Savannah?

redmaryjanes said...

Amy,
I am so jealous. I would love to go on a Disney Cruise. I love Disney.

Unknown said...

Hi! ;O)
Congrats Ann!!!
Way to go Amy! I always wanted to go on a cruse. Happy 10th LID also.
RJM, thanks for the link I think that's a great way for families to raise funding.
Kerri, say Happy Birthday to your hubby!
Kim, have a good day at work.
Hi Kelley and Jennifer nice to meet you.
Hi K1!
Today we are taking our billet downhill skiing, I haven't gone for about 8 years so this could be interesting.

Gail said...

Good Morning everyone! Thought I'd jump in and say hi...I'm still waking up. Dh let me sleep in today and that rarely happens. :)
I've been reading all your posts.

The Johnson Family said...

Kimberly,
Thanks for asking about Savannah-Hope! We are still waiting on uscis but praying it will be sonn!! shae has an upper respiriratory infrction and a nasty cough but the nanny said she is doing better now!

redmaryjanes said...

Hi there Deb!
Love your comment, you got us all in there. Have fun skiing and be careful. It sounds like you are going to have a great day. : )

LaLa said...

Kelley, I still can't get in can you send me the password again?

Jennifer,Annslee is a better than Dad so he stays away from her. Of course once she falls once that is all she wants to do. : )

On the naming thing...Annslee's was easy, My mom's middle name was Ann and MIL's middle name is Lee so hence the "different" spelling. Her name gets mispelled constantly and people always call her Ainsley which is becoming a very popular name. GRRRR...oh, well. With Malia it is a variation of my middle name and people don't seem to like it as much as they liked Annslee. My MIL said it was a "made up" name but it is actually on the SS list and Annslee isn't ha ha

The Johnson Family said...

Kimberly I do still need it if you get a chance!

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Gail!
Thank you so much for your package. : )

redmaryjanes said...

Laura,
Actually Malia is a Hawaiian name. I had a girlfriend in high school who had it as her middle name. It is not made up at all. And I think it is beautiful.

redmaryjanes said...

Crystal,
What is your e-mail and I'll get it to you right now.
It's in html.

The Johnson Family said...

well ladies I need to hop off and get some breakfast made. I am taking Izabela and Amelia to an american girl tea party at the library this morning!! I will try to check in later!! have a great weekend everyone!!

Gail said...

You are so welcome Kimberley. I hope you don't mind the shoes were worn already by Grace.
I was reading all your posts about names. Our name for this second daughter is Lily, but that is subject to change too. Somedays I think of all these other names I like, but it's sometimes hard to get the hubs to agree.

jennifer said...

I love the name Malia and Annslee. I love names that are different. My boys names were different before I named them, now they are more popular. Drives me crazy.

The Johnson Family said...

it is shanesgirl81@yahoo.com

thanks!!

Nancy said...

Karen I did receive the e-mail and forwarded it to Kim.

Lots of good news going around today.

Between making breakfast and talking with the boys, I am not able to catch up.

redmaryjanes said...

Gail,
That is what makes them special and they are in perfect shape.
I think Lily is beautiful.
Sophia is a very popular name right now, but I love it...so I'm sticking with it.

Kelley said...

Laura,
I sent you an invitation...it should be in your email. There's no password; you just needed to be invited. :)

And I think that the name Annslee Malia is just beautiful! Do you have a blog? I didn't see one listed under your profile...

k1 said...

Everyone please don't hate me for this comment, but I can't support Becky's new blog site.

My sister floated that idea of that type of sight here on the chat because a very dear friend of ours asked us if we thought there would be an interest in such a site if he designed it. He was looking for a fundraiser for his second child that would assist other adoptive families too. He came up with the idea, TB did some some market research here, and his idea was basically stolen in my opinion.

Sorry if that sounds harsh. I hope this is a safe place to be honest!! I don't usually voice negative opinions here, but this really bothered me.

Kimberley, if you want to delete my last comment, I understand.

I love the name Sophia. My kids' names are Nicholas and Grace, and both of those names became very popular several years later.
Grace has 2 middle names --Elizabeth, and her Chinese name --Lanli. I like that she has her Chinese name and that's part of her still.

I have lots of other names I like too...It's so much fun to think of names! I'd love to adopt a "Julie" someday. I tried to tell Tom that after they get through 2006 and hopefully speed up, our wait would be shorter for #3, but he doesn't want to be outnumbered. (Sigh!)

But I'm so thrilled to have Chloe (because I thought I'd never ever be a mom), and to adopt little Holly someday is unexpected, too, so I'll just count my blessings!

K1/Karen,
I had forgotten about that. Yes, your sister did bring it up. Um, man. I don't know. Becky doesn't really frequent my blog so I don't know where the idea came from for hers.

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Amy!
Enjoy your time away next week : )

I think this is a good place to be honest...it never hurts to express your opinions. I do remember that Kelly was talking about that idea on the chat. But I'm not sure what I think...still thinking it all through.

I still plan on helping with postage as soon as I am able too!

K1
I am so sorry, I did not know about that. Thank you for sharing your opinion.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday we are trying to decide right now what to do, cold and rainy but we want to get out we are feeling cooped up. We are having a small family party for Jacob's birthday tonight.

You know, when I first saw the site, I thought it was an off-shoot idea from your gallery of shops on your sidebar, Kimberley. I didn't even think of Kelly's discussion here on the chat.

redmaryjanes said...

Good Morning Michelle,
How are you?

Kelley said...

To everyone who's popping in or signing off, "hello" or "goodbye"! Have a great day!

Gail said...

I'm also deciding what to do today, as I have errands to run. I'm not looking forward to going out in the frozen tundra.

Kimberley, when will you start sending out the boxes to Starfish? Just curious.

Margaret M said...

My e-mail is margaretmiracle@belllsouth.net.

Thanks and I am off to clean!

Enjoy your morning ladies!

Check our blog later this weekend for pics of Lily's new big girl room and a peek at Graeme's new room!

Good Morning Connie! And Happy Birthday to Jacob. It's great to see you. It's cold here but sunny.

Kelley said...

Margaret, I'm looking forward to seeing those pictures later!

Gail,
I plan to send everything to Starfish the first week of March. I have a 3 day training session in Chicago, that first week so I'm hoping to get them out before, but it might be after.

k1 said...

Thanks everybody for being understanding of my feelings.

I am nothing, if not fiercly loyal, to my friends!

redmaryjanes said...

I thought it was an off-shoot of my sidebar too, but now I remember Kelly talking about it a couple of weeks ago.

Gail said...

Sounds great Kimberley!
I'm gonna run now too. Hope everyone has a great Sat. and rest of weekend!

Gail

redmaryjanes said...

Karen,
I totally understand your feelings.

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great weekend Gail!

Didn't you throw the idea around of mailing them out slowly? Now you are going to send them all at once? I will try my best to get you some postage money ASAP then.
I will help you track too if you need me.

Kelley said...

Who's still here (besides me and Kimberley and Karen)? I'm losing track!

Well, I'm off. I have a Creative Memories digital class this morning. I hope it's worthwhile. I'll post about it if it is.

Hope you all have a Great day!!

redmaryjanes said...

I'm going to send out as much as have the postage for at the beginning of March. Tim and I will be pitching too, so as much as I collect and as much as we can afford in March, I will send out. If there are remaining boxes, then we will send them out as we can.
I found out that we get a discount after the first box for each consecutive box we send, so it will be cheaper if I send as many as I can together. I am also hearing that FedEx is a better way to go than UPS. So, I think I will ship FedEx.

redmaryjanes said...

Have a great day Jennifer. I love Creative Memories.

I'm still here(Michelle) trying to catch up. I can't get over all the conversations. I won't be here much longer--gotta help shovel our snow-covered driveway!!

I just stepped away to sort laundry. Back for a few before going downstairs to start laundry.

May be bouncing back and forth for a while.

mommy24treasures said...

Did you check DHL for shipping too?
I know you probably did.

redmaryjanes said...

I did not check DHL, do they have a presence in China?

k1 said...

I think the nudists are on to something. Wear no clothes = no laundry to keep up with.

Michelle,
You blog looks so cute now! I love the make-over and you have the cutest photos of the kids on there right now.
