My hubs went with me and we split up so we could get to more of the talks. Plus, as I said, there were keynote speakers (Cindy Champnella at breakfast, Adam Pertman at lunch and one of the Directors of the CCAA for dinner -- that guy was INTENSE!). The CCAA man also brought embroidered handkerchiefs for everyone there, an stamped them with his red chop.

I have been e-mailing back and forth with Amanda. She is really happy that we are willing to do this for the children.
Verna has made some fantastic graphics, so I'll be showing those next week and getting things underway.
What we're doing is asking everyone to purchase some of the things off of the list supplied by Amanda for the children in her foster home in China. I'll have you send them to me and I'll box them all up together and ship them to her in China.
I thought it would be neat if the each of the families sent a little note to go along with their donation (if they want to).

You guys must really be a special group! It is only 7:15AM here, on a Saturday, when I don't have to work anymore (yea!!) and I woke up and got out of bed just to visit.
I sure am glad there isn't a webcam!!! I literaly rolled out of bed and came into the computer room.
How's everyone? I'm trying to catch up on the comments between comments.
I have several months worth of Saturday housework to catch up on!
Other than that, no plans, other than chatting with you all.
My husband has suggested that we all webcam, but let me tell you. I'm in a hot pink fluffy robe and my pajamas. Wild hair, no make-up. Not a lovely photo. The girl on the post is ahead of me because she's at least brushing her teeth!
The game was cold wish there had been a better ending :)
Yeah, NO webcam please. I'm actually dressed, but I have wild hair (just washed, didn't dry it, and LOTS of static now that it's half-way dry), and no makeup. Definitely not webcam ready, ha, ha!
If you ever require webcams for the Saturday morning chats, I won't participate.
Only Katie is dressed and ready for the day in our household!
I haven't brushed yet, either. Did have to go make a pit stop though.
So, is it getting any warmer in MI? We've had extremely cold temps here (in the 20's, which is REALLY cold for here) but i't been dry. Good thing since I still have a hole in the top of my car.

You might not know this, but K1 is my older sister. She travelled with us to China in November 06 to bring home our daughter/her niece, Katie.
The big question is: is she going to travel to Jiangxi with us this summer to bring home her 2nd niece?
Any thoughts?

Speaking of nicknames, do you guys visit CougChick's blog (used to be "hearts east", now it's "going with the flow") -- K1 I know you do -- anyway, she has nicknames for all of her blogging buddies in her bloglines bar. It's a hoot to try to figure out who she's talking about.
One thing I neede to look into this weekend is learning everything I can abot investigating on-line fraud. (Our office doesn't do that... the FBI and Secret Service do). But I have an inside line on a corporate position that might be opening where those skills, in addition to the ones I already have, are needed.
Any prayers, please pray. I really do want a different job! I can't post about it on my blog because my boss reads it all the time!

I visit her blog, but I'm not on her sidebar. Her descriptions are great fun though. I really like her, she's a great lady. I remember when she first was putting her blog together. I really wish she could adopt with us.

Plus, I need to know if DH is up on me going. In his email, it looks like he still wants his sis to go this time. (Which I understand, because I DID get to go already.) But, if she can't or doesn't want to, I'd love to.

Kimberley, thank you for asking. Chloe is her usual adorable self today. As for her hair, that's the first thing that our social worker told me about when she called with the referral news. She said, "she has a gorgeous head of hair!" I'm in the process of posting some new pictures on the blog...
K1 and I had the honor of meeting CougChick last October. She's a hoot. What a great family.
I'm not in her "wacky name" sidebar either...that's what happens when you have an invite only blog, I suppose.
A carribbean cruise in April, you say? I'm jealous. That sounds wonderful. We're doing the Disney cruise next month, but I'd do another one in April, too (hint!).
As for the rest of the timeline, I'm hoping we'll be LID by the first week of Feb. Add 3-5 months for the CCAA to do what it needs, I'm thinking travel in late June/July.

When you go to post a picture on your blog (before you input the picture) look at the bottom of the pop up screen. It will tell you how much of your "allowed storage space" you've used.
Now, I just need to know what happens when I reach 100% (cause I'm VERY close -- maybe 4-6% away from that).

Kelly, I just checked out your tip on how to find out about storage space. Apparently everyone gets 1GB for free, and then you can pay $20/year to get 10GB. That's what I found out just from clicking on the question mark that I saw...so that's how they're making their money, I think, and that explains the blogs that I've seen that have lots more photos and blog entries than yours. So, it would seem you'll either need to pay or start a new blog. Or shrink your photos like your sis suggests...
The only problem with using smaller jpg images is that they do not transfer well to a Blurb book (which is what I'm struggling with in creating a book of my original blog "waiting for our little girl".

WordPress and TypePad are just other blogging sites. Most of us use Blogger, as it's free, but I think WordPress is as well. TypePad, I believe has a low fee but can be password protected -- either the entire thing or specific entries.
Becky, what a gorgeous family you have! Your Chloe is just beautiful! And such handsome sons! Your post about your grandfather was beautiful...you have my condolences.

No, just the one e-mail where she said how happy she was that we were going to do this and said she would get me an updated list of needs as soon as she was able.
I sent her your graphics too but haven't heard anything.
I know that there was a baby who had to have emergency surgery, so I wonder if she is tending to the baby. I also know that they all live in a smaller apartment and I think she has around 15 babies right now. So, I know she is really busy and she told me she isn't able to read her e-mail very often.
So, is ooH ooW the sound of Woo Hoo being taken back?

Kim, it all started when Stef and I picked the same freeby template. I wanted to look different than everyone else and just started goofing with the HTML code to see what various settings did to the template. Hubs had a program for making web pages and I started using it to make the graphics and plug them in. It just grew from there.

I would love for our sons to get to know each other better. Poor little Tyler goes to every youth group when he's with us and he was at the summer camp out and he still doesn't have a friend to hang out with.
Zach has a couple of friends from school. He is good friends with one of the Kootsier boys because they played hockey together for a couple of years, but I would like for him to get to know some more kids too.

Hello! I'm making a quick check of my blogs before heading out for the day. Lots of errands, and lunch with my Dad. I always miss the morning chat because on Saturdays I am NOT an early riser.
