Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group!

Good Morning Everyone! This weekend should be a quiet one for us. We are working on getting our arrangements made for Chinese New Year. We have plans to go to a local restaurant and meet up with Steffie's family from 'Never Too Many'. We also are good friends with Kelly's family from 'Katie's Antics' and may do something with them too. It's going to be so much more fun this year because of the friends we have met in our area throug the blog. Last year I didn't even really know what Chinese New Year was. This year I want to start a tradition in our family. I want us to celebrate Chinese New Year every year as a way of honoring Sophia's culture and homeland.

The chat room is closed, thank you for a wonderful morning!

Hi everyone...once again I'm on the west coast and just got up. Hope everyone is well and getting ready to enjoy a great weekend after our yucky week!

RMJ I love the header on your blog today!

I'm with you. It is frustrating to have to answer the question, "Have you heard anything from China?" Over and over. These are friends who only want to show their interest, and I appreciate it, but it would be nice to hear something from China!!

Have a great day at work Laura!

Thanks Kayce!
How are you guys doing? Have any Chinese New Year plans?

Dropping in to say HI to everyone. So many comments that I really don't have time to read them all this morning. Working at 2 pm. So, time is tight.

Things are good here, as good as can be expected when your coming up to 22 months of waiting! :}

New Year plans? Naw not right now. The last few years we've gone to San Francisco for the weekend, but I'm just not sure I can do it this year. I'm trying not to absorb myself in all things Chinese this year, I know that sounds stupid, but I need to. I think for CNY this year we'll just stick close to home and celebrate with friends and family. How about you?

I think I'm going to send out Chinese New Year Cards (if I can find any) to our family and close friends. And I will give them a complete update about what is going on with adoption. That way it keeps it in their minds and give them an idea of what we are going through.

Good Morning Verna,
Have a great day. One of your new blogs oh my 6 was on this morning. You did a beautiful job on her blog. I saw Crazylady's and it's gorgeous. Thank you for working with me on Starfish!!

Wow Kayce,

22 months, that is twice as long as we have been waiting.

What do you think about all of these wait rumors everywhere and the CCAA taking off their box?

Kayce said...

I think you can make CNY cards at Snapfish or Shutterfly. Check them out.

redmaryjanes said...

That's a good idea, we have made our Christmas cards before.

Kayce said...

We did our holiday cards in a post card style then wrote a little note telling people to go to our blog to read our "holiday letter". It was so much cheaper than our usual photo cards and long letter. People seemed to enjoy it too.

redmaryjanes said...

That's a great idea too.

It just seems like our family and friends have given up. They really don't even ask us anymore how much longer.

Good morning...is it still morning?? Sorry, I have been rearranging the attic (fun fun) and now heading off to let Annslee try out her new soccer ball and cleats ~ yep, she is all signed up for Spring soccer...should be fun : )

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Kim I am sooo jealous that I don't live closer so I could meet up with you and Stef but I don't envy the colder weather LOL

Good Morning Laura,
I hope you guys have a great day. It's pretty cold here, no snow but it's still very chilly.

The wait rumors SUCK!! As for the box, it was expected and I actually think it's a good thing, don't shoot me! I know the CC*AA hates the rumor mill, so by removing the box, it's another way to regain control, that seems to be their goal...total control.

The wait has become too much. I posted the other day about how it has effected me. I'm emotionally done, but I can't give up. Yet.

redmaryjanes said...

I know, what do you do? You are invested 22 months in waiting and who knows how many more doing the paperchase. You can't walk away. So, yeah it just sucks.
I like knowing the cut-off dates, but I think we'll figure those out anyway even without the box because everyone communicates when the referrals start coming out.

Kayce said...

Our agency is really good about keeping us informed with dates, they even send out announcements when there is a package in the mail.

My dh and i were talking the other day about if the program was to shut down. His main concern was the money we've invested, typical man! I said what about the last three years of our lives! Gone!!! That is what kills me. I've lost 3 years of my life and if the CC*AA shuts down the program they can't give me back what I've lost. After I said this my poor dh was crying.

Well ladies, I've been noticing that even the rumor queen seems to have slowed down. Sometimes I have already heard things from other sources. The box thing was on a couple boards prior to her post. Guess she is very busy with her girls and the site has taken a back seat and who can blame her.

Verna said...

Kayce, that is so true. It is like a miscarriage of a very long pregnanacy. I surely hope they do not shut down. I think there would be an uproar world wide, similar to guatamala wanting to keep those little babies who had already met parents. Where's the child first policy in that??!!

Verna said...

Gotta run! Shower time then off to work. Have a great day. Catch you next week, I hope.

redmaryjanes said...

I don't think it will shut down, I just think they are trying to figure out whether or not to keep the girls since their population is out of whack now. I think the orphanages are full. I don't think there is a child shortage.

Kayce said...

Verna...

so true about the miscarriage. No one asks us about the adoption anymore. I feel like this thing that walks around town that everyone talks about but wont talk to. I've heard "gossip" that people think we should just quit. The sad thing is they don't understand that quiting would be worse than a misscarriage, it would be like aborting at the last second.

redmaryjanes said...

I have to go too ladies. I need to start hanging with the family. It was great to talk to you Kayce!

Enjoy your day RMJ...thanks for the chat space!
