Dinner with Daddy...

We look a little tragic in this picture, but we had just gone through a sleet storm outside to be able to get away and have dinner together. I can't tell you how rare that is, that we actually sit and are able to talk to each other and spend time alone. I love my husband very much, but with our schedules and the kids' schedules being what they are, we are like two ships passing in the night. Today when I was talking to Tim on the phone about what we were going to have for dinner and how I was going to be late getting home because of Tyler's tennis lesson and his haircut, I just blurted out that we needed to go out to dinner. That it had been too long since we just talked to each other without interruptions. Zach offered to keep an eye on Eli and we went to Applebee's. We didn't go too far from home and it wasn't anything fancy, but it was wonderful to hold his hand and look in his eyes and feel like a couple.

That's nice that being such a busy household you could set aside some time for just the two of you.

Those date nights are very rare in our household too... When they do come along I cherish them dearly.

Hmmm I think I may suggest a date night with hubby as soon as I feel better. I really need it!

Yay for date nights!

You two don't look "tragic" in this picture. You both look very nice, a little tired, perhaps, but nice.

What do you do when the kids have a 2 hour delay? Is your boss sympathetic?

My boys need to head out to the bus now. Have a wonderful weekend! See you in church on Sunday!

Good times. It is so important to take time to just be together as a couple. Even without kids, our lives go nuts that we have to stop and refocus on each other.

Keep smilin!

Good for you guys taking time out for yourselves.
You don't need to go far or spend $$, sometimes Granparents take our girls out for the evening and we stay home, BBQ steaks and sit and have a quiet dinner at home, it's wonderful.
The girls have a great time too, Grandma usually seaks them to McDonald's, somewhere Mommy won't take them, so they love it.

So glad you guys had a night out together. That is important.

My husband called me yesterday afternoon and said he wanted to take S.G. and I out to dinner. Even though we had the kiddo with us, it was nice going out together.

Time spent together is important.....otherwise you drift apart. David and i are going away for the night tomorrow night. Courtesy of the kids giving it to us for Christmas. Just over at Bay Pointe.....but it still time to talk with bed routine, dinner schedule and everything in between.

Do you want to do dinner next Friday night? (18th)

Those nights are THE BEST...it doesn't have to be anywhere special, cuz the fact that the two of you have each other's undivided attention is special enough.
(and neither of you looks "tragic"! You're a lovely couple.)

Ahhhh....you are a beautiful couple. It is really important to connect with our spouses and Applebees is a great place to connect! Holding hands and just looking at each other, being able to quietly breathe...it can be awesome!
