Stranded with Rudolph...

I was raised on these Christmas movies by Rankin Bass and I just love them. I have most of the videos and the action figures. Yes, that's right, I have the action figures. I just bought the 8 video collection on dvd that came out this year. We were watching them on the way home when something went wrong with our Yukon. We are now stranded in Des Moines for the weekend since the dealership service center closed at 4 and we got there at 3. No one works on Sunday, so our car and family have to sit until Monday. We are staying in a pretty nice hotel with a pool. We are planning on visiting the Science Museum tomorrow. We're determined to make the best of it : )

I can't believe you managed to change the look while gone. Looks great!
I am glad you take the positive side of your issue with the truck and change it for a fun adventure for the kids and you. Sometimes when the regular schedule is changed, that's when we get the best memories.

Sorry to hear about the breakdown. I just saw the DVD set advertised, and may have to get it. I don't think the boys have seen many of them because they come on after bedtimes.

Enjoy your unscheduled stop.

Enjoy the time with your family. I am sorry about the truck but like Isabella's mom's said this way you get to bond with the family and see the museum.

I love the Rudolf story, I have the singing figures, the only ones I am missing is Santa and Clarisse.

Your blog is gorgeous, you out did yourself.

Well Rudolph is just about my favorite, we also grew up with those movies. Hmmm I had no idea there were figures...might have to check them out. Being stranded isn't fun, hopefully you will be on your way soon. I'm only a few hours northeast of Des Moines. Have fun! :)

I want to get stranded with you! Cheesh, fun hotel and a field trip? That's great!

Hope your car is better than ever when you get home, car trouble is the worst.

Wow you know how to make the best of a trip! I'm not sure we would be as calm! I guess when there is nothing you can do there isn't much sence in making the time drag by under stress. Enjoy the museum.
Ps. The new header is beautiful.

Way to extend the Thanksgiving vacation!

Have a wonderful time. The museum sounds fun, and nothing could be better than watching all of those holiday classic films again.

Have a safe journey when you finally get on the road!

There is also an awesome botanical garden there. Hate it that you have car trouble. Hope it doesn't dampen your holiday spirit!!
