Several of us received word yesterday from Bethany that they will not be reviewing requests for SN children from their waiting families unless those families' dossiers have made it through the review room.
So, if you are with Bethany and your dossier has not cleared the review room and you were anticipating seeing the upcoming COP list, you may want to contact your social worker.

Some Tough News from our Adoption Agency...

well, that's a bummer. And why would an agency keep others from looking at the list just because they haven't been reviewed?? Strange!
That is crappy! Did they give a reason why. Sigh...
Keep smilin!
That stinks. I've given up looking at my agency lists anymore. There are SO many people trying to adopt all those children (and I'm REALLY happy about that!), but don't feel that we have a chance. We put a request in for a little girl on one of the lists and if I remember correctly there were over 100 other families interested in that same little girl. It's hard to get your hopes up and be disappointed...I'm just going to sit back and wait for them to match me with my little gal and "try" to be patient! =)
That's a shame. Wonder why the decided to change....I'm sure they must be able to give you all a reason.
That sucks.
When do the dossiers go through the review room? We didn't go through Bethany, but it seems kind of strange. Is it because there are so many people looking at special needs now?
My agency is IAAP and I don't believe they have any such restrictions. We leave in a few weeks to adopt our son, whom we found on their Waiting Child list. We had not started any paperwork at the time we requested his file.
Guess you could say that God decided your daughter was not in this next batch for you.
She will show up with time.
Hmmm, that's strange. My agency is the opposite -- they usually pick folks who haven't submitted a dossier yet. (It sounds a bit cynical, but I believe my agency does this so that they get NEW clients.)
I continue to pray everyones journey to their child is a happy smooth one and when they meet their child they will know it was all worth it.
That's a disappointment.
I guess it makes sense, though. If they match a family who is already through the review room, theoretically the family will be able to travel quicker.
Because if they match the child with a family who hasn't even gotten their dossier to China, the child has to wait for that, wait for translation, wait for review...and then wait for his/her family to get TA.
I know it will break a lot of hearts, but this makes sense to me. Sorry.
That is horrible. I am so sorry.
Is switiching agencies a possibility?
I hope everything goes smoothly...whenever it may happen!
I'm sorry, that is so disappointing.Did they offer any info?
doesn't make much sense, did they give a reason
They told me that your LID plays a large role in who they assign the COP children to and being that our LID is fairly new, we would not be chosen. Also, I think that so many families are petitioning that it is difficult for them to match. I heard a rumor that over 100 families requested the same child.
I'm sorry to hear this! So has your dossier made it through, or do you not know?
