Referrals...

Most of us know that referrals have come in. The CCAA processed 7 days worth of LID's this past month. I want to say Congratulations to all of the families who are seeing their children's faces for the first time. I am truly happy for you.
Now for those of us who are still waiting, this can be a difficult time. This month is a difficult one for me. I sat down and figured out that at this pace, I will have my daughter in 5.6 years. Not exactly what my agency quoted when we signed up. Now, I understand that things could speed up. I also understand that things could slow down. I know that for the last 3 months, this is what we've been seeing. Next to no movement.
But this month, just as each before, I am renewing my dream. I am re-dedicating myself emotionally to my daughter. I am choosing to stay the course. I will never give up.

We are also praying that
things will soon speed
up! When we first started
working with our agency
in April 2006, we thought
we would be getting a referral
before the end of this year.

Oh, I can only imagine how tough this wait is ... just stay focused on the end result - an amazing daughter that God has gifted you with!

I've always heard that November was a huge month. Hang in there, because things WILL start to speed up. Maybe not by light years (like we wish they would), but we're bound to see more than just 7 days at a time soon. Keep up the excellent attitude--I know it can be tough to do some days!!

Hang in there...I cannot imagine the pain and frustration of this long wait. I do know for a fact that when you are on the other side of the world holding your daughter..you will feel a part of you feel completed. {{HUGS}} to you and all of us waiting.

The wait is tough, I calculated at this rate my wait will be 4.5 years. I'm keeping my fingers crossed things will change soon.

Oh I hope things start speeding up for you and the other families that are waiting. Waiting is so hard.....when you know your little girl is out there waiting for you...

I was just thinking today how frustrating it is that things are so slow with referrals. We only waited 6 months from LID to referral with Mallory. I really hope things will speed up some and that we will all be pleasantly surprised. All in God's timing. IN the mean time, we all have each other to lean on. I am so thankful for that. :)

I am so with you on the wait. I can't explain the bummed feeling I get each time referrals come out. I think it's becasue I know those folks have waited a LONG time and I think I will be waiting even longer. BUT God is in control. Our Lily Grace WILL come home and then we will understand better because she will be just right. Hugs from MN.

You have the best attitude, and I'm okay with this wait, as long as it ends in China holding my girl.

the wait is so hard - I know that it will be worth it in the end, though!

Good morning....I even slept in! lol

I'm so sorry it's taking so long. Have you ever considered adopting a special needs child? The SN process is so much shorter and the kids are so wonderful. Perhaps your daughter is just waiting for you to look for her on a SN list?

All I can say to this is Wow! So beautifully put Kim. We are all here with you waiting, dreaming and staying the course. Thank you for this beautiful entry.

The projections crush me too. Love your lines about rededicating yourself to your daughter.

I agree with Steffie, it is draining! I know my agency has been quoating (for new people) to expect 18-24 months from LID. I think that too is a long shot! It does suck weenies....

Stay strong Kim. It will happen. I cannot even tell you some of the things that happened in our 3 year journey to Kate. It will happen. And it will be perfect. I will pray for your continued strength.

I am with you. Although our proces is not the same, and our agency timeframe quote too has long since passed...each month on our Waiting list anniversary I have to renew our hope and faith.
