I Love This Boy

I Love This Boy I Love This Boy I Love This Boy I Love This Boy
Of course I love them all. But today I just want to yell until I can't anymore that I love my son Zachary. I am so proud of the young man he is becoming. I love our relationship. I am so grateful to God for the priviledge of holding his hand through the beginning of his life. I cherish every phase, every year. He leaves this Sunday to go on a mission trip with his father. My boy is going to New Orleans to help build homes for families who lost theirs in the hurricane.

We All Fall Down....with the Flu!

Well, I've been trying not to admit this, but I can feel Eli's flu trying to take hold. Tim is in the same boat. We've been trying to lay low, but it's tough because Eli is feeling better. He seems to be on the road to recovery. His diapers are beyond description though. I thought Tim was going to fall over with the last one.
Hopefully we'll be better tomorrow??

Music To My Ears....

My favorite singer Norah Jones has a new album out! She is incredibly talented. I normally purchase a cd and listen to the songs on it that I like and ignore everything else. I listen to Norah's cd's from start to finish over and over.
Her voice and music are magic with grace.

Saturday....

Today we are going to lay low with Eli. He seems better this morning. He's kept down his pedialyte and cheerios so far.

I take two sets of pictures of the children each year. One set is of them all together which goes out in the Christmas Cards. One set is of them individually which goes out in the Valentine Cards. (I send a lot of cards) Well, I have to get the Valentine Cards out today or they will be late for sure!

I also have five quilt squares to go out for 100 Wishes Quilts. I still have a ways to go, so if you would like to swap, just let me know!

Enjoy your day everyone!!

Got Pedialyte??

Eli has some form of the stomach flu. Looks like we will be resting this weekend and trying to recover. I feel so sorry for him. He gets so scared and miserable when it comes over him.

I'm sure that we'll be spending a lot of time cuddling on the couch watching Nemo.

Poppa Pops!!

At our house, we now call popcorn poppa pops. Zach started it with Eli and it's stuck. I can't tell you how many bags of popcorn we go through. It is amazing. Everyone loves it!

Here is Eli with Daddy eating poppa pops and watching our new favorite movie--NEMO.
How many times can you watch Nemo and not go insane??---I'll let you know.

Sent With Hugs..More Fun In The Mail!

This quilt square was sent by our fellow blogger Leda. I know that she is still working to get all 100 squares for her daughter Kaylee's quilt before she leaves for China. You can contact her at 'China to California' on my favorites list.

I also am still happy to swap quilt squares with anyone who is working on their quilts. Just leave your information in the comments attached to this post.

A Little Love from Aunt Julie

Today we got some special surprises in the mail from Aunt Julie.

Aunt Julie sent Christmas ornaments for Elijah and Sophia. I got a new Godmother mug since I am Savannah's Godmother. Aunt Julie will be Sophia's Godmother when she arrives. The pack of Dentyne gum is a long story.

Elijah also got this VERY COOL Buzz Lightyear sweatshirt. I can't get it off of him. Here is Eli eating cookies with his new sweatshirt.

This is him showing me that Buzz is on his shirt.

Snow Day.......Remember Those??

Zachary and our neighbor Taylor are definitely enjoying their day off from school. They are playing X-Box.

Eli loves to play under the dining room table. He constantly crawls under there with his toys.

Tyler is relaxing and playing Rune Scape on the computer.

We hope you all are warm, safe and enjoying the snow.
Except of course for my Southern blogfriends who keep telling me how warm they are in their tank tops--thanks ladies!!

The Weather Outside Is Frightful....

It is definitely cold outside, but we're doing great. We never lost power. We are just laying low today. Katelyn is watching the Grease show where they are trying out for the musical (we have it on DVR). Zach is playing X-BOX live. I am blogging and Tim is downloading music onto the kids' IPOD's. Tyler is playing at the neighbors.

I am hearing from other bloggers that it's very cold today in a lot of the country. Stay warm everyone!!

Looking for Jack Frost?....He's in Michigan.

We are under a blizzard warning. It is currently 4 degrees. Temperatures will reach below zero tonight. We are definitely staying inside. We did not go to Zach's hockey game and had to cancel our dinner tonight with friends.

Keep us in your thoughts and say a little prayer that we do not lose power. We will be fine as long as the power holds out.

This is why I love blogging

Please click on my link 'China to California' and send your warmest wishes to Leda and her family. They received their Travel Approval today.
She thinks I brought her luck. While writing my address on an envelope that she was sending a square for my 100 Wishes Quilt in, her agency called to tell her that she has TA.

Her post brought tears to my eyes and huge smile to my face.

Congratulations Leda!

February 3rd.....Ive been a blogger for 1 month!!

I started this blog as a way to communicate with others who were adopting from China. It has become so much more than that. I have met some truly wonderful people. I have laughed and cried and cared for strangers. There are blogs that I check daily to see what new fun news they are posting. I have waited with women for their LID's and Referrals. I have cheered them on during their Paper Chases.

And what is really great is that they are doing the same with me.

I have had a great month. My thanks to everyone who visits my site.

Revealing Some of My Bizarre Collection

I am accepting the tag to reveal some things in my house that are weird. Now, everything on this list, I just love. I can't tell you why, I just do.

These are called witches balls. Kind of creepy name, but the story is that the glass tendrils inside of the orbs were believed to be able to capture evil and keep it contained in the glass ball. These are said to have been quite popular during the 17 and 1800's.

The fairy in the kitchen rafters.

Me and the glow-in-the dark footprints that I bought at Halloween four years ago but never took down. They are in the upstairs bathroom on the mirror and they still glow in the dark. The kids love them.

When you have four children, this makes perfect sense. But, it's still a little weird to see an automatic hand sanitizer in someone's home.

The fairies hanging from the rafters above the staircase.

Don't know what to say about this. I just love it.

One painting of a sleeping woman.

Two paintings of a sleeping woman (actually this is a Matisse charcoal drawing).

Three paintings of a sleeping woman. I'm sure that one of you out there is a therapist and can explain to me why I am drawn to classic paintings of sleeping women.

And last but not least, the famous dogfish who debuted in my first post.

Lastly, but not pictured. I still own the bikini I wore in high school in 1986. Don't know why.
