Referrals...

Most of us know that referrals have come in. The CCAA processed 7 days worth of LID's this past month. I want to say Congratulations to all of the families who are seeing their children's faces for the first time. I am truly happy for you.
Now for those of us who are still waiting, this can be a difficult time. This month is a difficult one for me. I sat down and figured out that at this pace, I will have my daughter in 5.6 years. Not exactly what my agency quoted when we signed up. Now, I understand that things could speed up. I also understand that things could slow down. I know that for the last 3 months, this is what we've been seeing. Next to no movement.
But this month, just as each before, I am renewing my dream. I am re-dedicating myself emotionally to my daughter. I am choosing to stay the course. I will never give up.

Please Pray for My Mother In Law...

Please pray for my Mother In Law, her name is Fran. She has lost her battle with cancer, hospice has been called in and we are waiting for news of her passing. She has been such a loving presence in my life and has always supported our family in any way that she could. I love her and will miss her more than I probably can know right now. We have done all we can to be with her these past months and weeks. Please pray that her suffering will end and that the Lord will take her home.

3 Posts Today! Secret Buddy Update....

Secret Buddy Questionnaires were sent out in e-mail today. If you are one of the ladies participating, please check your e-mail and complete the form as soon as possible. When I have them all back, I will forward them to your secret buddy and our group will begin. All of you have been matched!

My Dad is flying in today from Kansas City to spend the week with us. It will be really great to have him here. The kids are very excited to see him. Zachary has a hockey scrimmage tonight, so today will be the first time that his Grandpa will see him play.

This morning we are working in the church nursery. There are no plans for the rest of the day, and that's just the way I want it. I think we will go out in the boat and do some swimming. We're supposed to have great weather. My father is coming from Kansas City tomorrow to visit us for a week. It's going to be really great for all of us to be able to spend some time with him. I guess I'll have to clean up around here a bit. Get out the swiffer, my floors are a mess!

My Boys Are Home From Camp...

My two oldest sons came home today from Camp Michawana. They can't stop talking about all of the fun that they had and the awards that they won for learning their Bible verses and lessons and sporting activities. Thank you Lord for touching my son's hearts over these past two weeks and grooming them into the men you want them to be.

This was one of the parting songs at camp.

One Wish...

This picture is called One Wish. I'm hearing rumors about referrals and reports that TA's are arriving. People's wishes are coming true. All of us here share the same wish, for our daughters to come to us quickly. My girl is on my mind today more than usual. I love you Sophia Jane, wherever you are...your Momma loves you and I will come for you.

Just send me an e-mail and let me know what country you are adopting from and any type of LID information or other type of timeline data that I can use to match you with someone who is compatable and will be able to participate for approximately the same amount of time as you. I know that I have someone interested who is adopting from Vietnam, so please know that you do not have to be China only in order to be matched.
If there is enough interest, I will forward you a brief questionnaire that I will later forward on to your Secret Buddy so that they will have an idea of your likes and interests and your address so they can mail out your packages.
I am very fortunate to have an outstanding secret buddy. I really look forward to her packages each month. I also get a lot out of sending things to the family who I have been matched with. It's a great experience.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported Elizabeth's Baby Shower! It was unbelievable. What was intended to be a casual weekend shower turned into a continuous weekend long live-chat with 324 comments and 30 RSVP's. I can't remember the last time that I laughed so much.
